Chapter 1937 - 1873: Someone Is Watching

Dai Gang breathed a sigh of relief.

"What a scare." Dai Gang looked at the table in front of Chiang Xiao, there was nothing there, but he clearly smelled the aroma of food just now, and it was still lingering.

"Sister-in-law, so you were the one bringing food to the Great Officer. No wonder it smelled so good. But, what did you eat? Rice?"

Chiang Xiao felt like she was getting really good at lying; she didn’t even flinch, and the lie just came out.

Dai Gang glanced around and didn’t see any food containers or anything. Although he found it a bit strange, he didn’t doubt Chiang Xiao’s words.

After all, Chiang Xiao wouldn’t lie about something like this, and there was no need to.

"No need, Sister-in-law. Are you here to participate in the competition? Are you staying at this hotel as well?"

"Yes."

Dai Gang felt envious. Meng Xinian could see his fiancée and even live with her while on a mission; his luck was just too good.

He looked at Chiang Xiao with some grievance and said, "Sister-in-law, I still don’t have a partner. When are you going to introduce someone to me? That way, I won’t be single, and I won’t feel jealous seeing you two."

Chiang Xiao nodded.

"Great Officer, I’m here to report something to you." Dai Gang straightened his face and turned to Meng Xinian, his tone becoming serious.

Meng Xinian went over to the small sofa, "What’s the matter?"

"When we went to fetch materials for Miss Jun, we found there were people watching the materials she wanted, so we didn’t proceed. The materials haven’t been retrieved yet."

"Do you know who they are?" Meng Xinian asked.

Dai Gang shook his head, "We haven’t found out yet. Two people followed them, but there’s no news yet. I guess it won’t be until tomorrow morning."

"What exactly does Jun Weichi want those materials for?"

"I asked her just now, but she said it’s still in the experimental stage, so it must remain secret. Moreover, she doesn’t feel it’s safe here in Country Y, so she won’t say anything until she gets back home."

Meng Xinian frowned, "She’ll explain when she gets back, but she doesn’t want to go back until her experiment is done. What if it turns out that the materials she wants are related to the incident, how do we deal with that?"

He paused for a moment and then asked, "Did you ask her roughly when the experiment might be completed?"
