1015: Chapter 3 The Great Fleet!
_3 1015: Chapter 3 The Great Fleet!
_3 As members of the Giant Mosquito Fleet looked at their companion ship, about to come under attack and possibly to be the first of the fleet to sinkâŠ
A figure suddenly appeared, flashing into existence like lightning!
The figure had an enormous stature, and what was more terrifying was the fearsome metal battle armor that adorned his body.
Under the twinkling starlight, a dim glow emitted from the armor, reflecting beautiful, eerie, multicolored hues.
This was Jia Yan!
Somehow, he had already flown out of his battleship earlier on.
Although the battleship was engaged in battle and was still maintaining a speed of about one-third the speed of light, flying out of the battleship posed risks.
Relativistically speaking, the speed Jia Yan felt wasnât too fast, but any mishap could potentially harm his body.
Yet, in such a dangerous situation, he still moved into action!
As a Strong One, his group battle command abilities werenât robust, but there were many ways he could help his subordinates other than command!
One of which was to use his own strength to help them through the crisis!
At that moment, in the Compound Eyes of Big Mosquito, a faint alien hue lingered, watching the ten incoming warheads that were tightly focused due to the attack directed at one battleship.
His body moved at great speed, intercepting the warheadsâ trajectory, and all eight of his limbs sprang into action!
Two front limbs, as expected, pierced through two of the swiftly approaching warheads.
His middle limbs also penetrated two, but the hind limbs, due to unfamiliarity and insufficient energy, missed the remaining seven or eight warheads.
However, Jia Yan didnât show any sign of discouragement but instead murmured âexplodeâ silently in his heart at that moment.
One stream among the Brainwave Power entangling the warheads ahead, now shot forth and enveloped all the remaining ones with precision.
A terrible display of Light and Shadow erupted in the Starry Sky as the close-proximity detonations caused several nearby battleships of the Giant Mosquito Fleet to shake violently!
Thanks to Jia Yanâs intervention, none of these battleships sustained any damage, and not even a single injury occurred among them.
Jia Yan himself, however, was engulfed in the explosionsâ fireworks after his limbs pierced through those warheads, causing the opposing System to automatically trigger the detonation signal, immediately blowing up the warheads.
âLord!â Kama, in the command battleship in the rear, looked anxiously towards the part of the Starry Sky where Jia Yan was, now completely covered by intense flames.
Kama could only see flames that engulfed an area of tens of kilometers.
But it didnât take long for the vacuum of space to quickly absorb the flames, and Jia Yanâs body, faintly emitting a Bluish light, reappeared in its original location.
His whole being was wrapped in the glow of Brainwave Power, which protected his body from any harm inside.
âLord Jia Yan, he risked his own safety to save us!â the soldiers of the Giant Mosquito Fleet thought dumbfoundedly as they witnessed the scene.
âBring the Detection System up to full operation.
The Lord risked so much for us; if we canât even locate the enemy, we wouldnât deserve his recognition.
Hurry up!â
The soldiers, spurred by their superiorâs orders, sprang into action.
Previously, they had little sense of loyalty to the Big Mosquito they served, merely seeing themselves as part of a powerful Strong Oneâs force, with perhaps a decent future.
But Jia Yanâs gesture truly rallied their spirit.
Although he hadnât shown himself much before and never seemed too arrogant, his actions now genuinely touched the soldiers.
To think that an individual, comparable to the top ten Strong Ones, would regard them, mere soldiers, as more than just expendable bugs.
To venture into danger to save a few battleships was to treat them like true comrades!
The soldiersâ emotional response was entirely within the calculations of Big Mosquito.
Jia Yan took off, heading back to his battleship.
He had been blasted by several shots and had only barely managed to avoid being pushed too far away; otherwise, returning to the battleship at nearly half the speed of light would not have been an easy feat.
As for his previous actions, it was all deliberately planned.
Over the past year, he had delegated most of the fleetâs affairs to Kama, showing himself infrequently.
Now was certainly time to make an appearance, both to win peopleâs hearts and to reassert his own strength.
It served to bring his subordinates together and give those among them with ill intentions a momentâs fear.
And the warheads?
They were nothing to worry about!
Such long-range warheads were originally designed to target thick Defense armor of battleships, not someone like Jia Yan, protected by Bluish defense.
Breaking through his bodyâs defenses would require, at the very least, skpecialized Cosmic Armor-Piercing Shells!
So, despite seeming perilous, the maneuvers held no real danger for him, aside from the slim chance of being blown away into space.
âWeâve found them, at a distance of five million kilometers, the enemyâŠ
itâs a large fleet with three hundred battleships!â
When Jia Yan returned to the fleet, a Detectorâs voice suddenly sounded through the communicator, laden with panic.
