Chapter 508: Blades of Legend ( 508 )
The dwarfâs hands tightened on the table, his thick fingers trembling slightly.
His voice came out hoarse.
âDid⊠did ye craft this⊠for real?â
Javier smiled lazily.
âYeah.
Wanna see how?â
The dwarf could only nod stiffly, his eyes locked onto Javier like a starving man eyeing a banquet.
Javier chuckled softly, reaching once more into his magic storage.
With a casual flick of his wrist,
he pulled out a chunk of gleaming, silver-blue ore, perfectly cut, almost glowing faintly under the mana lights.
The dwarfâs eyes widened instantly.
âM-Mithril?!â
he gasped, half standing from his chair.
Javier tilted his head slightly, looking at the ore like it was a simple piece of bread.
âHmm?
Yeah.
Itâs not that rare in the Armand Region.â
The dwarfâs jaw dropped even further.
Javier continued casually, as if discussing weather.
âWell, itâs still hard to get.
But since our region has two high-quality mining zonesâŠ
both with access to rarest ores, itâs not a big deal.â
âF-For real?!â
the dwarf blurted, half in disbelief, half in pure envy.
âHmm?
Yeah.
Rasdingen handles all of it.
He crafts the armor and weapons for our standard troops, you know.â
Javier said casually, flipping the mithril chunk lightly in his hand.
âOur standard military gear?
Full mithril.
Weapons too.â
The dwarf sank back heavily into his chair, staring at Javier like he was some kind of mythical being.
âYeâŠ
Ye mean even yer foot soldiers are wearinâ mithril armorâŠ
and swinginâ mithril blades?!â
Javier smiled faintly.
âPretty much.
You know⊠basic stuff.â
The dwarfâs mouth opened and closed several times, but no words came out.
Not even the royal armies of ancient dwarves could casually arm their troops with mithril.
This wasnât just wealth.
This was power. True power.
The dwarf blinked a few times, still trying to process the casual display of mithril.
Then he frowned slightly, confused.
âBut whyâd ye take that out, kid?
We donât even have a forge here, not even a hammer!â
Javier chuckled lightly, resting his hand casually on the table.
âAhâŠ
I donât craft it like that.
Hard labor isnât my style.â
He smiled , a calm, confident smile.
Javier placed the chunk of high-quality mithril ore on the table.
The dwarf leaned forward instinctively, eyes narrowing in confusion.
Javier raised his right palm, holding it just above the ore.
His hand began to glow softly.
Mana swirled.
The air around them shifted.
The mithril ore reacted immediately.
It began to reshape ,slowly, steadily.
The raw chunk compressed and elongated, forming into a gleaming, razor-sharp mithril blade.
Not just a simple blade, but one with intricate, flowing patterns carved into the metal, like living veins of light running through it.
Beautiful.
Flawless.
Then, without stopping, Javier pulled a small mana crystal and a delicate rune plate from his storage.
He pressed them together smoothly with the half-finished blade, and in a soft flash of light, they merged perfectly.
The mana crystal embedded itself neatly into the bladeâs core.
The rune lines expanded naturally across the weaponâs surface.
The finished blade sat on the table , not just a weapon , but a masterpiece.
Something that should have taken master blacksmiths months to craft by hand, Javier created in minutes.
The dwarf stood frozen.
Mouth open. Eyes wide ,Hands trembling slightly.
Finally, he managed to stammer:
âM-Magic⊠Craftinâ⊠SkillâŠ?â
His voice was barely a whisper.
âThatâsâŠ
Thatâs the rarest bloody skill ever recordedâŠâ
âThe last lad who could use itâŠ
was from the ancient crafting clansâŠ
Thousands of years ago!â
The dwarf still stood frozen, staring at the masterpiece blade Javier had casually crafted.
But Javier wasnât finished yet.
He smiled lightly.
âNot just that,â
he said calmly.
âTo make sure this blade is strongerâŠâ
He raised his left hand slowly.
The mithril blade floating mid-air responded immediately.
A faint hum vibrated through the room.
Javierâs left hand flared softly with a deep fire aura.
The floating blade began to glow, slowly shifting from silver to a molten red-orange color, the metal becoming hotter and hotter without losing its shape.
The temperature soared but the control was absolute.
No wild explosions.
No overheating.
Just pure, perfect reinforcement.
Javierâs right hand pulsed with a cool mana aura.
He moved it forward gently reinforcing the heated blade with layered mana flow.
Finally,
he drew another small mana crystal from his storage , and in one smooth motion, fused it into the core of the now-blazing weapon.
The crystal merged flawlessly.
The blade absorbed it naturally, lines of power threading perfectly across the weaponâs surface.
When Javier withdrew his hands, the blade cooled instantly, settling into a stunning silver-red sheen, with veins of glowing runes running along its body.
The dwarf staggered backward, wide-eyed.
âOh⊠godsâŠâ
he whispered hoarsely.
His fists clenched and unclenched in disbelief.
âThisâŠ
This techniqueâŠ
To reinforce a blade like thatâŠ
normally it takes weeks!
Weeks oâ hammering, heating, quenching, enchanting!â
Javier simply shrugged, still smiling lightly.
âHmm?
WellâŠRasdingen managed to finish the same technique..in less than one day.â
The dwarfâs mouth opened, then closed.
He slumped heavily into his chair, completely overwhelmed.
âOi, kid!!
Gimme that blade!!â
the dwarf barked out suddenly, his face splitting into a wide, greedy grin.
He looked like a child eyeing the biggest candy in the world.
Javier blinked once, then smiled lazily.
âHmm?
Of course.
I was planning to give it to you anyway.
Itâs not like I have any use for this one.â
The dwarfâs eyes lit up like twin torches.
He snatched the blade from the air with surprising speed, his thick fingers closing around the hilt like it was a priceless treasure.
He hugged the weapon to his chest, laughing like a madman.
âYeah!!!
This is mine!!
Miiiiiiiiiinnnneeeeeee!!!â
he howled joyfully, spinning once on the spot like a drunk dwarf at a festival.
Javier leaned his elbow casually on the table, watching the scene with a small, amused smirk.
The dwarf practically danced back to his chair, holding the blade like it was a newborn child.
He wiped his eyes dramatically, sniffing once.
âLadâŠ
Ye donât know what ye just gave meâŠ
This ainât just a sword.
This is a dream!
A dream that most smiths would sell their own beards for!â
Javier shrugged, completely unfazed.
âIf it makes you happy, itâs worth it.â
he said simply.
The dwarf slammed the table once with a loud bang, grinning fiercely.
âYe crazy lad!
Ye mad lad!
But by the mountains, yeâve got the heart of a true dwarf!â
He clutched the sword tighter, as if someone might steal it away.
The healer staff watching from afar sighed softly.
Another mad dwarfâŠ
And a mad human to match.
Javier leaned forward slightly, tapping his finger casually against the table.
âNow,â
he said with a sly smile,
âI just want some information from you for this blade.â
The dwarf blinked once, clutching the sword tighter against his chest like a miser.
Then a slow, wide grin spread across his face.
âOh?
Now weâre talkinâ, kid!â
he chuckled roughly.
âWhat do ye want to know?
But fair warninâ. I canât give ye any royal secrets or classified military plans.
Orders.â
