Chapter 625: The Forbidden Pact ( 625 )
Deep underground⊠beneath the Noble School.
The walls were reinforced with layers of high-quality mithril.
Magic crystals glowed faintly, casting long shadows across the cold stone floor.
Inside the central chamber, six figures sat quietly at a long tableâeach emitting an eerie pressure, unnatural and oppressive.
At the head of the room sat Princess Kliatana.
Cross-legged, elegant yet unblinking, she watched them silently as they ate. Their manners were crude.
âPrincess,â
A man in military uniform bowed slightly behind her.
She didnât turn.
âHmm?â
âHis Majesty commands you prepare them. They are to move.â
âNew mission?â she asked casually.
âYes, Princess. It has been approved.â
Kliatana lazily flicked her hand.
âLet them finish eating. Iâll inform them myself.â
âAs you wish.â The man bowed again and left.
The moment the door shut, the six turned their attention to her.
Their eyes were strangeâcold, faintly glowing under the dim light.
One, with short white hair and a stitched neck, licked his fingers.
âSo⊠another killing mission?â
Another chuckled, cracking his knuckles.
âI hope they send us somewhere messy this time. I want to hear someone scream.â
A woman with mismatched eyes grinned wickedly.
âHeh. Finally. Iâm bored of training. Time to see real blood.â
The others murmured in excitement.
Kliatana closed her eyes briefly, then stood with grace and authority.
âEnjoy your meal. When youâre doneâŠâ
She opened her eyesâsharp, commanding.
ââŠweâre moving. His Majesty wants results.â
âYes, leader.â
The chamber fell silent again.
The six figures straightened in their seats as they caught a glimpse of Kliatanaâs eyesâ
Her left eye now glowing, a strange arcane pattern swirling within the iris, pulsing with a rhythm that felt inhuman.
None of them dared to move.
They went back to eatingâquieter. More obediently.
Kliatana spoke, her tone sharp and cold.
âWhereâs the Seventh?â
One of them scoffed.
âProbably off fucking some woman again.â*
Another rolled her eyes.
âAll he cares about is that. That weird bastard.â
âWeirdo,â one muttered, stabbing at his meat with a dull blade.
Kliatana didnât answer immediately.
But thenâher aura surged.
A pulse of raw, compressed mana exploded outward, like a silent scream pressing against the walls. The air trembled. Plates rattled.
âHe better be hereâŠâ Kliatana said calmly, her eyes glowing brighter.
âOr Iâll cut off what he cherishes most.â
None of them dared reply.
They simply resumed eatingâquietly. Obediently.
The door creaked open.
A figure stepped insideâtall, shirt half-open, his skin still damp with sweat. His movements were slow, smug, satisfied.
The others didnât even glance at him. They knew that smell.
The Seventh had returned.
He stretched lazily, running his fingers through his wild, damp hair.
âAhhh~â he exhaled, deeply pleased.
âNothing beats a royal maidâs body after a warm mealâŠâ
He glanced toward the table, eyes locking on Kliatana with a mischievous gleam.
âOh~ my beautiful~â he purred.
âHow about you and I head to our bed next? Just the two of us⊠making love likeââ
CRACK.
Before he could finish, his body was slammed flat to the ground.
No one moved.
There was no blast. No wind. No visible force.
Yet, the floor beneath him cracked.
The Seventh winced, unable to move.
Princess Kliatana stood still, her eye glowing fiercely. The arcane pattern in her iris spiraled faster and more violently.
Her voice droppedâcalm, cold, absolute.
âHow dare a lowly thing like you think weâre equal?â
She stepped forward slowly, each footstep echoing in the silent chamber.
âHmm? Seventh?â
The other six didnât even glance. They simply continued eating.
The Seventh twitched slightly beneath the crushing weight of her invisible pressure.
His smirk slowly returnedâpained, but still present.
âAhh⊠thatâs what I like about you⊠Princess.â
Still pinned to the floor, the Seventh licked a bit of blood from the corner of his lip.
âThe only one whoâs hard to getâŠâ he murmured with a grin.
âMmm⊠I like it~ Tsundere.â
A small vein on Kliatanaâs temple pulsed.
She didnât shout.
She didnât raise her voice.
âEnough of that.â
Her tone was low, icy, dead serious.
The pressure around her increased. A thin crack formed across the stone floor beneath the Seventhâs head.
He chuckled anyway.
âWhen weâre done with the main missionâŠâ
He coughedâthen grinned wider.
ââŠIâll ask His Majesty for a reward.â
He turned his head slightly, forcing eye contact with her glowing gaze.
âIâll ask to marry you.â
Silence.
The other six didnât even glance up. Theyâd heard worse. They knew better.
Kliatanaâs eye pulsed again. Her expression unreadable.
But behind her, the lights dimmed.
Kliatanaâs expression shifted.
She didnât frown.
She didnât scowl.
She smirked.
A slow, dangerous curl of her lips.
Her glowing eye dimmed slightly as she turned her head to the table.
âYes~â she said sweetly, almost playfully.
The Six immediately looked up, cautious.
âIf you manage to finish the main missionâŠâ
She paused, her voice sharper than a blade.
ââŠkilling Count Garius and his entire family.â
The room tensed. Even the Seventhâs grin faltered.
âThen you may ask for any reward.â
Her eyes returned to himâdeadly, amused.
âAnd you want me, Seventh?â
She tilted her head slightly, the pattern in her eye swirling again.
âThen prove it.â
The pressure lifted from his body.
The Seventh gasped softly and sat up, spine cracking from the sudden release.
Still grinning. Still staring at her like a predator obsessed.
âOh, I will.â
His voice was dark.
âIâll kill them all for you.â
Kliatana took one step forwardâheels clicking sharply against the stone floor.
Her voice rang out, clear and commanding.
âIf you all manage to do thatâŠâ
She looked at each of them in turnâthose monstrous Six who had once been human, now twisted into living weapons.
ââŠconsider yourselves granted whatever reward you desire.â
Her eyes locked onto the Seventh.
âIncluding you, Seventh.â
The man grinned again, chest rising with pride.
But her next words were icy.
âBut before the main mission is finishedâŠâ
She leaned in slightlyâvoice dropping to a mock-whisper.
ââŠthen keep dreaming.â
The grin froze on his face.
She straightened and stepped past him, the glow of superiority in her shining eye.
âIf you want this bodyââ
Her tone turned sharp, mocking.
ââthen prove it during our main mission.â
Her gaze bore into his soul.
âIf not⊠keep drooling over it from afar.â
The Seventhâs smirk twitched, caught between desire and rage.
The others stayed stillâsilent, knowing better than to interrupt.
Kliatana turned away, arms crossed behind her back.
âBecause you all knowâŠâ
Her voice darkened, tone heavy.
ââŠthe last mission wasnât that simple.â
The room fell into silence.
No more jokes. No more smirks.
Only the cold, suffocating reminder of what they truly existed for.
