Viessa looked around the lively courtyard, the laughter of nobles and the soft notes of elven music filling the air. The newlyweds were surrounded by well-wishers, and the celebration was in full swing.
But something bothered her.
Her sharp eyes scanned the crowd again.
No Liana.
Her smile thinned.
"Dear, Iām going to check on Liana," Viessa said, brushing invisible dust off her sleeves.
He looked over, puzzled. "Didnāt she step away to attend their young master?"
Viessa shook her head slightly. "Itās been too long. Sheās missing her sisterās moment. Iāll be back shortly."
She didnāt wait for a reply. With graceful steps, she made her way across the courtyard, through the arched side path that led to the guest rooms. A few guards bowed as she passed, recognizing the queenās sister-in-law.
Inside her mind, she sighed.
Mylezra is already tending to that boy... Javier, was it? Then why is Liana not back yet? Surely she didnāt abandon her duties just because of one unconscious guest... no matter how handsome.
She frowned slightly.
She better not be skipping out on her responsibilities just to fuss over that boy.
Unless... she has another reason.
Viessaās steps quickened as she turned the corner.
"Where is my daughter?" Viessa asked, her tone firm but composed.
One of the maids nearby quickly bowed. "Madam, I believe Miss Liana are in the guestroom... attending to the young man who collapsed earlier."
Viessa raised an eyebrow. "Why is no one else taking over to care for him?"
"I-Iām sorry, Madam. Miss Liana insisted on personally tending to him."
"...I see. Very well. Continue your duties."
"Yes, Madam!" The maid bowed again and hurried off.
Viessa turned away with narrowed eyes, her thoughts swirling.
That man... heās the youngest son of Count Garius, isnāt he? Javier...
Liana told me heās still a child, but from what I glimpsed earlier... heās far from looking like one. Tall, lean, sharp-eyed... Thatās not the look of a child.
Her pace grew brisker as she walked down the corridor, heels clicking softly on the polished floor.
Whatās their relationship, exactly? Why is Liana attending to him so personally?
She paused briefly in front of the guestroom door, her expression unreadable.
Theyāre not even in the Armand region. Thereās no duty binding her here. So why...?
With a soft breath, Viessa reached for the handle.
The door opened quietly.
Inside, she found Liana and Gloria kneeling beside the couchāattentive, quiet, and clearly worried.
"Liana?"
Liana turned quickly. "Yes, Mother?"
Viessa stepped in with her usual grace, her arms crossed loosely. "You both have siblings celebrating the most important day of their lives. Shouldnāt you be out there with them by now?"
"Iām sorry, Madam Viessa," Gloria answered with a polite smile. "But this young man is our young master in the Armand region. Itās our responsibility to care for him."
Viessa narrowed her eyes. "Hmm? But youāre not in Armand anymore, youāre in the Elven Kingdom. Here, you have no such duty."
She raised her voice just slightly.
"No excuses. Go and present yourselves. Greet the guests, be with your familyādo what youāre meant to do on a day like this."
"Butā" Liana tried to protest.
"No ābut,ā Liana." Viessaās tone was firm, but not cruel. "Now go. Call one of our household maids to take over this task."
Gloria lowered her eyes but didnāt resist.
Liana sighed deeply.
Viessa approached and gently reached for Lianaās wrist, intending to pull her away.
Just then..
A faint groan escaped from the couch.
Javier stirred, eyes still half-closed.
Liana and Gloriaās eyes widened in unison.
"Y-Young Master...?" Liana whispered.
Javierās hand twitched.
With a pained breath, he sat up suddenly, eyes barely open, his vision hazy and unfocused.
"...Liana...?"
His voice was hoarse.
Without warning, Javier reached forwardā
And collapsed into Viessaās chest.
"...!"
Viessa blinked, stunned.
Liana gasped.
Gloria froze, hand half-raised.
Javier buried his face into her soft bosom with a relieved sigh, completely unaware.
"...Liana..." he mumbled again, arms weakly wrapping around Viessaās waist.
"U-Um... err... y-young man...?" Viessa stuttered, utterly stunned.
Her eyes widened as she looked downāthis handsome, well-built young man, barely clothed in his torn noble outfit, was burying his face deep into her chest.
His arms were loosely around her waist, and he looked far too comfortable.
"YOUNG MASTER!!!"
Javier blinked.
"...Huh?"
SMACK!
A hand slapped the back of his head with zero mercy.
"Thatās my mother!!" Liana shouted.
"Eh!?"
Javier looked up, dazedāand finally realized the truth.
He wasnāt hugging Liana.
He was hugging another woman.
His eyes widened in pure horror.
"W-Wait, wait, IāI was half-asleepā!"
Viessa still stood frozen, her hands lightly raised as if unsure whether to push him away or cover her chest. Her face was bright red, eyes darting between Liana and the blushing boy now backing off in a panic.
"I-I didnāt meanā!"
"Donāt talk!" Liana yelled, veins popping as she grabbed Javier by the collar and started dragging him away from her mother. "You perverted little lord!"
Viessa exhaled and tried to regain her composure.
She looked down at the boy againāseeing his flustered expression, those panicked eyes.
...He really is handsome for his age...
"Your dick should be cut by now!!" Liana shrieked, still dragging him across the polished floor.
"EEEEPPP!! LIANA!! I didnāt know!" Javier cried.
"Donāt you dare play dumb! Not only Armand region! You did it in Beastkin Kingdom! You made chaos in Dwarven Territory! Now here! HERE, in the Elven Kingdom, and you hug my mother!?"
"It was an accident!! I saw boobs and thought it was you!!"
"YOU PERVERT!!"
"AAAHHHH!! NOT THE FACE!! NOT THE FACE!!"
Gloria, standing to the side, calmly closed the guest room door and locked it.
Javier cried in terror as he tried to crawl backward across the polished floorābut his legs gave out from the earlier exhaustion.
"Liana!! Donāt punch the face!!"
"Eeekkk!! My leg!! My leg!! Donāt break it!!"
Gloria stepped forward, her calm and refined smile sending shivers down his spine.
"My~ Young Master... you look quite healthy now. That means you donāt mind a little punishment, right~?"
Her voice was sweet.
"Young~ Master~" Lianaās voice dropped to a cute, sing-song tone as she cracked her knuckles. "How could you not notice my motherās hair is blonde... while mine is silver~?"
"I didnāt notice!! My eyes were hazy!! Iām sorryā IāM SORRRYYYY!!!"
Punch after punch rained down.
"Not the face, Liana!! Please! Not the face!!"
"No no no~" Liana smiled sweetly, eyes glowing with rage. "The face is a must~"
"You always drool over every beautiful woman~" Gloria said sweetly, adjusting her glasses as if giving a lecture. "As usual, right Young Master~?"
"IT WAS A MISTAKE!!"
Liana leaned in, her hands on her hips. "Armand Region. Beastkin Kingdom. Dwarven Kingdom. Now the Elven Kingdom..."
She raised her fist again. "AND ITāS MY MOTHER THIS TIME!?"
