I took a look first, these years as a director havenât been for nothing, you do have an eye. You understand public demand.
"Whatâs the price?" Director Wang looked for a while and asked.
"Twenty-three for the hats. One for the gloves, four and a half for the scarves."
Director Wang frowned, thought for a moment, and said, "The price is too high."
"Itâs not high anymore, plus Director Wangâs dime, we donât make much money."
Director Wang waved his hand and said, "Leave a dollar for the hats, fifty cents for the scarves, a dime for the gloves." After saying that, he glanced at Lin Wan and added, "If itâs okay, I want two hundred scarves, three hundred hats, and four hundred gloves."
Lin Wan pretended to think for a while, finally "reluctantly" agreed.
Deliver the goods tomorrow morning.
Upon leaving the mall, Liang Hongmei was quite angry, "Did he pocket the money himself?"
Lin Wan nodded, not hiding it from her, "Yes."
"What kind of scum are these people?"
"Mom, we canât control these matters, itâs all temporary. Later, when private businesses rise, these public stores will slowly become desolate. Donât look at them flaunting now, seemingly greedy, when they get laid off in the future, their arrogance wonât be visible."
"Can a director get laid off?" Liang Hongmei looked at the bustling department store, not quite believing.
"Youâll see."
After Liang Hongmei dropped Lin Wan off at the store, she went to class because she had to treat her classmates to dinner today, so she arrived early.
She didnât have much else to do now, so she sat in the private room and continued knitting scarves.
It wasnât until past four that Yin Peibai and Su Ling arrived one after another.
Lin Wan had Xiao Yu set up the private room on the first floor.
"You came just in time, everything is set up, letâs quickly sit down," Lin Wan invited them to sit.
Among those who came, besides Yin Peibai and Su Ling who knew this was their familyâs shop, the others didnât know.
Only when they came in earlier and saw Lin Wanâs attitude in the shop did they vaguely suspect something, and the class leader boldly asked, "Lin, is this shop yours?"
Lin Wan openly admitted, "Itâs my familyâs. Our own place, feel free to eat until youâre full."
Lin Wanâs words made several classmates laugh out loud, instantly enlivening the atmosphere.
"I really didnât expect it. I pass by here every day on my way to work. Everyone from our factory knows the hotpot shop in front of the government courtyard is delicious, and business is booming. I didnât expect it to be yours," class leader Li Dapao never thought.
"Yeah, Lin, I often see you selling clothes in class, didnât know your family also runs a restaurant," Wang Aihua laughed.
"No one asked, plus you canât sell meals at school."
After a few pleasantries, everyone took their seats. Li Changjiang and Ma Tao arenât very talkative, rarely getting to eat with classmates, discarded their usual good student persona.
Everyone has been mingling in society for years, has work and family. After a few drinks, they warmed up to each other.
"Why arenât you drinking, Lin?" Li Changjiang sat beside a few women, often overhearing their chats and finding them interesting, but being a man, he didnât feel like butting in to join their conversation. Typically, heâs spoken only a bit more than other classmates. In truth, heâs not very familiar with Lin Wan.
He was really surprised and happy to be invited by her.
"She canât drink because sheâs now like me, having Bao Bao," before Lin Wan could speak, Su Ling beat her to it, "Hey, come to think of it, we often see Yin and Suâs spouses, but havenât seen Linâs spouse much," Wang Aihua remarked.
"Yeah."
