Chapter 450: Just Showing Off

Han Jingchen originally wanted to get along well with Xinyan’s dorm mates, but now it seems better not to interfere casually.

He glanced at Xinyan: "Let’s go."

Xinyan softly replied with an ’mm,’ signaling He Jinxuan and Sun Zhenling to follow, then nodded at Bai Aiwen who had just entered, and the group left the dormitory.

Li Yutong caught sight of Xinyan and the others leaving from the corner of her eye, glanced at Xinyan’s bed, and muttered, "Pretentious."

Xia Ruhui clearly heard her words, and while her face remained neutral, she was internally blaming her family, wondering why they insisted she stay with Li Yutong. Wasn’t this causing trouble?

Previously, at the department store, just because she saw Han Xinyan’s partner being generous, she made sarcastic comments about Han Xinyan being wasteful. Obviously envious and jealous of others, yet she had to go and bother them.

What did she hope to gain from it?

But who could tell her what kind of twist of fate this was, that they ended up in the same school and even the same dormitory?

Without a doubt, her future days were bound to become more difficult.

Li Yutong had no idea what Xia Ruhui was thinking, and hearing Bai Aiwen and her family chattering as they entered, she felt annoyed: "Could you be a bit quieter?"

Upon hearing this, Xia Ruhui felt like she wanted to die: "Yutong, what’s wrong? If you’re tired, I’ll come down and help you."

After saying that, she apologized to Bai Aiwen and her family: "Sorry, it’s not intentional, just didn’t rest well last night."

Such a clumsy excuse, even Bai Aiwen and her family didn’t believe it, and neither did she, but there was no other way despite feeling awkward.

Li Yutong let out a faint ’hmph,’ and glared at Xia Ruhui: "Make yourself stand out."

Xia Ruhui sighed internally: It seems she’s caught between a rock and a hard place.

Despite her frustration, she had to pretend not to care, giving the Bai Family a nod before turning to Li Yutong: "Yutong, why don’t you rest over there, I’ll help you."

Even though everyone in the room was busy with their tasks, they were all watching Li Yutong out of the corner of their eyes, surprised that she indeed sat aside, leaving Xia Ruhui to do the work alone, all having their own calculations in mind.

After finishing the wallpaper, Cui Haili and her husband exchanged a look, quietly packed up their things, nodded to the Bai Family, and left the dormitory.

Just as they reached downstairs, Cui Haili’s husband Li Kaida said: "It’s best to keep your distance from those two. One’s got issues, and the other’s intentions are not pure."

Cui Haili nodded: "I used to think there was scheming at the factory, didn’t expect the school to be the same."

Li Kaida consoled: "There aren’t many people like that, you just had the bad luck to run into them. That Han Xinyan and Bai Aiwen are pretty nice."

Cui Haili laughed: "You’re right, besides, I’m here to learn, it’s best to ignore them."

Bai Aiwen’s family sped up their actions after Cui Haili and her husband left, packed up and went out of the dormitory together to get familiar with the campus.

Sitting there idly, Li Yutong unhappily remarked to Xia Ruhui: "Can you hurry up?"

Xia Ruhui felt extremely displeased, but still replied gently: "Almost done."

Despite being annoyed at Xia Ruhui’s slowness, she didn’t offer to help until Xia Ruhui finished tidying up, and only then did the two leave the dormitory together.

When Xinyan and the others came out of the library, they saw from afar Li Yutong and Xia Ruhui walking towards them. He Jinxuan, seizing the moment when no one was watching, picked up a few small stones from the flowerbed nearby and clenched them in his hand.
