Seeing the pleading in her son’s eyes, Mother Meng felt a mix of emotions. Thinking of her and her daughter’s scheming, her cheeks flushed with guilt: "Son, of course I hope you two can be happy, but whether you can continue is up to her."

Xinyan finally explained why she had come: "Senior Sister, please forgive me. I was really busy and forgot you work here. How about I treat you to a meal to make up for it?"

Shen Guqing lightly tapped Xinyan on the forehead: "One meal, and you want me to forgive you? It’s not that easy!"
