Chapter 863: Only the Awkward Know

The people who came over split into threes and twos, and a few eagerly took over the fishing rods Shu Xiaomei brought.

Using the bait Shu Xiaomei brought, they cast it out impatiently, just waiting for the fish to bite.

After baiting her hook and casting it again, Xinyan took a camera out of the bag she carried and snapped a photo of Jiang Peiqin when she wasn’t looking.

When Jiang Peiqin heard the ’click’ sound, she turned to look, and Xinyan quickly took another shot.

Jiang Peiqin shouted, "You brought a camera?"

Xinyan nodded with a smile, "When you go out to have fun, you naturally have to bring a camera so you can reminisce about your youth when you’re old."

Jiang Peiqin stood up, "Come, I’ll take a few photos of you so you can remember your youth."

Both of them laughed.

Their activity caught the attention of people in the distance.

Someone heard the word ’camera’ and came over, "You brought a camera?"

Jiang Peiqin didn’t say anything, she just nodded at that person and then directed Xinyan, "A bit more to the left; do you want a full-body shot or a half-body shot?"

Xinyan smiled broadly, "I trust you; just shoot as you see fit."

Jiang Peiqin deliberately made a few funny gestures, "Come on, look here, and smile."

Xinyan, amused by her antics, laughed naturally, and with a ’click,’ Jiang Peiqin said, "Alright, I’ve surely captured you beautifully."

Just then, they heard Gu Yingying chatting with a few classmates not far away: "I left in such a hurry today, I forgot to bring my camera. I was planning to take some photos for everyone."

After speaking, she looked over at Xinyan and Jiang Peiqin.

Her voice wasn’t quiet, likely meant for the two of them to hear.

But the two didn’t fall for it, acting as if they hadn’t heard, and in unison pointed in a direction, "Let’s take photos over there."

The two smiled at each other, secured their fishing rods, and together walked toward the spot they had chosen earlier.

Gu Yingying saw that the two clearly heard her but didn’t respond and instead went that way, feeling quite displeased. She deliberately asked, "Where are they going?"

Next to her, Cao Juanjuan from the German class glanced at Gu Yingying, "The scenery over there is nice."

However, she only said half the sentence and didn’t continue, leaving Gu Yingying waiting for the rest. Seeing that Cao Juanjuan didn’t go on, Gu Yingying rolled her eyes at her in her heart: Go on, why don’t you?

Cao Juanjuan is straightforward but not foolish, and she wouldn’t fall for Gu Yingying’s trick.

Gu Yingying saw no one responded to her, but still wanted Jiang Peiqin to take a few photos of her, so she took a few steps forward, cleared her throat, and said, "Jiang Peiqin, it’s good that you brought a camera."

At Gu Yingying’s words, Jiang Peiqin immediately knew what she wanted to say, but since Gu Yingying didn’t state her purpose explicitly, it wasn’t appropriate for Jiang Peiqin to say much.

In any case, Jiang Peiqin wouldn’t respond to her. Who felt awkward was known only to them.
