There were still matters to handle at her home, so she didnât want to waste too much time here.
She walked over to Jiang Peiqin, lowered her voice, and whispered a few words in her ear, then nodded to her.
Jiang Peiqinâs face changed immediately, which startled Ling Wenhao: "Xiaoqinzi, I really didnât tell you a word of lie."
As he spoke, he glanced at Xinyan, worried that Xinyan might say something else. He hadnât seen wrong; it was Han Xinyan who whispered, causing Xiaoqinziâs expression to change.
But before he could react, Jiang Peiqin pushed her aside and walked towards Ye Dongyan.
Others might not have noticed, but Xinyan did catch a fleeting look of triumph on Ye Dongyanâs face; it seemed this woman had been pretending all along.
As for how she behaved, Xinyan didnât care.
But since she plotted against her good friend, she was determined to make her reputation destroyed and her true self exposed.
When Ye Dongyan saw Jiang Peiqin coming at her, she initially intended to put on a show, but before she could prepare, Jiang Peiqin grabbed her and reached into her pocket to pull something out.
Ye Dongyan quickly reacted, terrified, and grabbed Jiang Peiqinâs hand: "What are you doing?"
As soon as she asked, her face turned deathly pale.
Xinyan watched the scene with interest and wasnât afraid to stir the pot: "Miss, what exactly do you have in your pocket that has you so frightened?"
Ye Dongyan was in chaos, not caring about her image: "Whatâs it to you?"
Xinyan mischievously said: "Oh, arenât you supposed to be gentle as water? Why are you acting like a tigress now, quite scary. Could it be that all your previous gentleness was just an act?"
Ye Dongyan panicked: "Who are you, and why are you here to ruin my reputation?"
Xinyan approached them with a half-smile and a mocking tone: "Letâs show everyone what youâre fighting over, and the truth will come out."
The onlookers were intrigued and began to stir up the situation.
Ye Dongyan was extremely flustered, her forehead covered in a fine sweat.
Xinyan deliberately said: "In this cold winter, how can you be sweating? Could it be guilt from being a thief, scared?"
With that, Ye Dongyan was momentarily distracted, and Jiang Peiqin snatched the item from her hand.
Ye Dongyan was alarmed, frantically throwing herself at her, but before she could reach Jiang Peiqin, Ling Wenhao directly kicked her away.
That woman shouted angrily: "Ling Wenhao, what are you doing?"
Ling Wenhao wasnât afraid of her: "Of course, Iâm preventing a madwoman from hurting my fiancĂ©e, or you can see it as me being brave and righteous."
The woman was furious: "Ling Wenhao, if anything happens to my Dongyan, I wonât let you all off easily."
The womanâs curses didnât interest the crowd; they were focused on the object in Jiang Peiqinâs hand.
Xinyan asked Jiang Peiqin to show the item to everyone.
Jiang Peiqin listened and revealed the object in her hand.
Someone asked: "What is that?"
Xinyan glanced at Ye Dongyan, whose face was ashen: "We should ask the person involved. This item is banned, you really have some nerve."
She even deliberately gave Ye Dongyan a thumbs-up.
The woman from before shrieked again: "Who do you think you are? Itâs not your place to speak. Get lost if you know whatâs good for you."
Just as Jiang Peiqin was about to speak, Xinyan stopped her, turned her head, and looked at the woman with a teasing smile: "Youâre in such a hurry to drive people away; what are you trying to hide, acting so abnormally? I canât help but suspect youâre either an insider or a participant."
The woman panicked: "Shut up."
