"They have an Immortal?" Ibadon asked, his large head tilting to the side with wonder.
His dull red eyes revealed that this information had riled him up a little, but not so much that it upset him too much.
He had killed immortals before. What was one more added to the mix?
"Yes, I saw her with my own eyes," The Primordial Cat said as he narrowed his glowing white eyes.
The Primordial Cat was in his humanoid form, standing calmly and casually with his arms folded with a nonchalant vibe around him.
His skin was fair and clean, as though he had never experienced any serious battle in his life. Those who knew him personally would say otherwise. Soft creatures donât become immortals, they donât.
His face was round and he had big eyes like a cute babyâs. His face on its own was amplifying the narrative that he was really a soft person.
He was also quite short, less than six feet tall. This was the standard height for the cats but when out against their bigger and more famous cousins like the tigers, the lions, or cheetahs, they were very short and small.
He wore some simple brown loose clothing with black slippers. His whole hair was very messy too.
He looked like that small-ish nonchalant hippie that always had things work out for him, even in the darkest times.
Except, his baby face wasnât that nonchalant. As a matter of fact, he was currently frowning hard.
His white eyes that would usually be calm and collected were cold and calculating.
He was simply vexed.
Why?
"Why didnât you follow them in?" Ibadon asked.
Both of them were perched on the roof of the highest tower of the Imperial Palace, overlooking the vast realm and the distant horizon with godly gazes.
Ibadon was maintaining his true form these days, although he spent most of his time in a smaller form so that those around him werenât uncomfortable.
"Thatâs the Leonine Heaven. Charging in is like cornering them and wanting to take their most prized possession.
Even you wonât be able to survive their retaliation if you go in alone."
The Primordial Cat said with a somewhat deep voice that still didnât match his appearance.
"But you wouldnât have been alone...
Just make a call and I would have come along with you. The whole army of the dragons would be mobilized to make that move," Ibadon said.
Seth shook his head, "Enough with your trick questions, you and I know you wonât do something so rash.
The last time you were so impulsive, look at what happened to you?
You still bear the scars from the day of that battle," Seth said.
Hearing this, Ibadonâs large head merely tilted dangerously but he didnât seem fazed.
Why would he?
"Indeed," Ibadon agreed after a few seconds of silence. Seth felt a cold tingle down his spine but forced himself to remain calm.
"Those scars are the result of my reckless desire for vengeance back then.
But havenât you noticed, Seth?" Ibadon asked.
"Noticed what?" Seth asked, the frown in his face getting deeper.
"My scars are gone..." Ibadon muttered, raising his head up with a little smile of pride.
"At least, most of them," he added.
Seth widened his white eyes that lacked any pupils, "Is that so? No wonder youâve been enjoying your true form lately.
How does it feel?" He asked.
Ibadon hummed, feeling his complete power slowly flow back to him, "I feel empty," He said truthfully.
"I feel like an oversized airball. Big enough to intimidate anyone but actually just hollow on the inside." Ibadon said.
"At least, youâre big," Seth said, turning away. Although he was just a Mid Level Immortal, he had no fear of Ibadon.
"With your strength, we should have a better chance of ending this all once and for all.
You may even be able to secure an alliance from every member of the Ancient Feline Council with your recovery." Seth said vaguely.
"Hmm," Ibadon nodded, "Your father completely ignored my calls all these years after my injury.
You were the only one who bothered to respond. Knowing your true intentions, I donât know whether I should thank you or kill you right now," As Ibadon talked, his eyes flashed briefly from red to a chilling blue and then to an ominous black before quickly turning back to red.
Seth subconsciously leaned away slightly.
"If you wanted to kill me, you wouldnât need your full strength to do so. An injured lion is still a lion.
Even if you arenât a full lion, I trust that that viciousness burns deeply in your veins.
Besides, why would you kill your only access to your complete revenge?"
Ibadon scoffed, not at Sethâs last sentence but at the implication that he had lion blood flowing in his veins. Although it was true, it disgusted him deeply.
Indeed, that innate viciousness and brutality that the lions had were still in him.
Inherited from his mother and another reminder of why he felt so hollow inside. He had always felt hollow since the day his mother left and never came back.
Perhaps, the revenge will allow him to feel something in his heart once again. Joy? Maybe.
"You and your Ancient Feline Council members donât care about my revenge," Ibadon said, "You donât even want me to wipe the lions out.
No, you want to reshape the whole lion race. You all want to recreate them into an image that is tamer and more tolerant of your bullshit.
You want to mutate them.
Thatâs a fate worse than what I have planned for them. But I prefer my way."
Seth shook his head, "Nope.
I actually responded to your call because that All-King has something that vexes me. The Primordial Rat.
I want to be the one to embody my law and I canât do that with the Primordial Rat still around somewhere.
I canât even track him anymore because the All-King has taken him under his fold.
As for reshaping the lion race? Thatâs the plan cooked up by my father and the other council members.
The member placeholder for the lions was furious when he found out that someone had cut off the tail of his dead kin.
Since then, we have actually been thinking of shifting the lions from the Law of Conquering to maybe...the Law of Slavery.
It has been done before. And it can be done again."
Listening to this, Ibadon hummed. The lions really didnât know just how good they were at making enemies.
Even they didnât know just how large their enemy pool was.
"Law of Slavery, Law of Conquering, they are still lions.
And all lions must die!" Ibadon raised his voice.
Seth shifted away and lifted his feet off the roof they were standing on.
"My father wonât allow that, you know that?
That wasnât part of the deal."
"You didnât tell me we had a deal..." Ibadon looked Seth dead in the eye.
Seth was beginning to think that this calm exterior that Ibadon always showed to everyone was a plain lie.
This abomination was actually crazy, he thought to himself.
There was a serious level of friction happening at the moment.
Seth came from an organization called House of Luthor, which was the equivalent of a clan or large family.
His father was the leader of the House Luthor which was the most important House among the cats scattered all over the universe.
Not only was his father the leader, but he was also an immortal.
Not just any immortal, but a Supreme Level Immortal.
Sethâs confidence was not based on empty feelings. He knew his backing, he knew that he was the most overpowered young master the universe had to offer.
He was a Primordial, an Immortal, and his father was a Supreme Level Immortal.
That was why he didnât give two shits about what Ibadon thought.
His father was strong, and he was old, older than Ibadon and many other monsters in the universe.
The leader of House Luthor had watched many events unfold over the seasons, he was not to be joked with.
Why should he fear Ibadon?
Previously, because of Ibadonâs injury, it was unknown if Ibadon could be suppressed by his father.
But now that he learned that Ibadon was fully healed, he wondered if Ibadon would still care.
If Ibadon and his father fought, it would be catastrophic.
"The deal is to fight the lions together and get what we want.
You canât wipe them out if they still have the power to fight and we canât mutate their nature if they still have the might to resist.
We have different end goals but the same process.
The ends justify the means.
We need to fight them first and bring them to their knees! We need them to be for the life we shall take away from them, Ibadon.
See the big picture!
It would be a shame if after all this, we have to stand on opposing grounds..."
With that said, Seth flew away to handle something that was on his mind. He wanted to check something out.
Ibadon looked at Sethâs figure flying away and it was as if he were looking at a dancing clown. His dull red eyes were filled with mockery.
He missed the former Primordial Cat, that one was more persuasive.
"Iâve dealt with your kind before," Ibadon chuckled and muttered under his breath.
"So, that little Lioness became an Immortal, when?
How pitiful..."
