Gu Nianyangâs words were like a drop of cold water falling into hot oil, instantly shattering the calm and causing a sizzle of surprise.
"No way, did Gu Yuanâs second daughter really cure Doudouâs snake venom?"
The neighbors looked at each other, seeing disbelief in each otherâs eyes.
The Golden Widow couldnât quite believe it either, but seeing the rosy tint returning to Doudouâs face, she was both shocked and delighted, "Nianyang, my boy is really alright?"
Nianyang nodded calmly, "There may still be some residual poison in Doudouâs body. Saozi, you can go to the mountain and find some Shi Grass, grind it into a medicinal juice and take it twice a day; in no more than five days, Doudou will recover."
Just as she finished speaking, the previously unconscious Doudou suddenly opened his eyes and began to cry loudly, "Mom, Mommy, I hurt so much..."
Everyone jumped in surprise, staring at Doudou without reacting.
"Doudou!" The Golden Widow was the first to snap back to reality, seeing Doudou awake and his complexion returned to normal, she hugged him and burst into tears of joy.
The mother and sonâs cries awakened everyoneâs wandering thoughts, prompting amazement.
"Itâs truly miraculous, Gu Nianyang actually cured him and brought someone back to life!"
"Itâs remarkable, several years ago many people died from snake bites despite visiting the clinic, but Gu Yuanâs second daughter did an outstanding job!"
"We all underestimated her; who wouldâve thought Gu Familyâs second daughter wasnât foolish at all but rather possessed profound medical knowledge!"
The neighbors whispered among themselves, eying Nianyang with newfound respect.
Nianyang stood calmly, with an indifferent expression, neither happy nor sad, as if everyoneâs praise wasnât directed at her.
Gu Yuandao and Wang Ying couldnât think anymore, their mouths agape in astonishment.
It was bizarre beyond belief; they had raised this youngest daughter for over a decade, and she had always been clumsy. When did she learn medicine?
Seeing everyone elevate Nianyang to lofty heights, Gu Youlanâs face twisted with malice, her eyes glinting venomously, gripping her dress so hard she nearly tore it, glaring at Nianyang with such rage that it seemed smoke was about to rise from her head.
This damn useless sister had secretly learned to heal while Gu Youlan remained oblivious.
She had thought Nianyang would be blamed for causing deaths, and everyone would scold her, but never expected her to cure Doudou, earning everyoneâs admiration.
Gu Youlan felt intensely sour; from childhood to now, whenever she stood with Nianyang, everyone would see only her and ignore Nianyang. How could this worthless sibling gain such honor now? She was utterly resentful!
The Golden Widow steadied herself and, with tears in her eyes, approached Nianyang to kneel, "Nianyang, you saved Doudou, Saozi thanks you, you are my great benefactor!"
"It was just a small effort, no need for thanks." Nianyang quickly supported the Golden Widowâs arm, smiling at her, "Golden Saozi, Doudou has just woken up and is still weak, quickly take him inside and feed him some porridge. He shouldnât go out into the cold these days, and donât forget about the Shi Grass."
"Okay, okay!" The Golden Widow nodded emphatically, and hurriedly took Doudou back inside to seek out the Shi Grass.
Having saved Doudou, the Golden Widow now firmly believed in Nianyangâs words.
