Doctor Xu originally wanted to slip away while everyone hadnât noticed him yet.
Who would have thought that hateful little girl had such sharp eyes, and actually directly called out his name. Doctor Xu immediately froze, and sweat beads hanging densely from his forehead collapsed down in a torrent.
Nianyang raised her brow and said, "Whatâs wrong, Doctor Xu? We havenât even fulfilled our wager yet. Where do you intend to go?"
With Nianyangâs words, almost everyoneâs gaze focused on Doctor Xu. Seeing his shrunken posture, devoid of the majestic demeanor of a renowned physician, their faces simultaneously showed ridicule and contempt.
"Doctor Xu, didnât you insist that your diagnosis was correct and the young Divine Doctor was wrong? Now youâve been proven wrong! Not only was her diagnosis accurate, but she also cured the great gentleman. Shouldnât you explain yourself?"
"Pah, calling yourself a saintly physician, yet deceitfully giving the great gentleman a wrong diagnosis, claiming he was possessed. Thankfully, the young Divine Doctor was there, or else the great gentleman would have been killed by you, a quack!"
"Doctor Xu, if youâre not as skilled, just say so. How can you joke with a patientâs life? Making a bet with the young Divine Doctor recklessly, and now trying to flee after losing the wager, truly disgraces us physicians!"
Under attack from the crowdâs scathing words, Doctor Xu, who was used to being praised like the moon surrounded by stars, couldnât bear this kind of humiliation. His teeth clenched tightly on his lip, and his old face flushed red and purple with anger!
He took a deep breath and, nearly grinding his teeth, spoke, "Sorry, I misjudged. I didnât expect you, young friend, to have such remarkable medical skills. Please donât hold onto the events that just transpired!"
"Doctor Xu, by saying this, are you planning to backtrack and not fulfill the bet?" Nianyang smirked, thinking that this old rascal is quite adept at muddying the waters, believing that by saying this, sheâd let him go without making him kneel.
Doctor Xu did mean that, still thinking Nianyang would spare him some dignity. Unexpectedly, Nianyang exposed it so directly, his face instantly turned darker than the bottom of a pot.
"Young friend, although your medical skills are extraordinary, you must understand that in the field of medicine, I have always been your senior. Donât act too ruthlessly. Leave some leeway for future interactions!" Doctor Xu said coldly.
Nianyang sneered, "Speaking of medicine, I must mention that as physicians, we must be responsible for our patients. Someone like Doctor Xu, who haphazardly diagnoses patients for personal gain, lacks medical ethics. How dare you call yourself my senior? Youâre unfit to be a physician!"
"You!"
Nianyang continued, "As for not being too ruthless, when you were loudly proclaiming to send me to the authorities earlier, why didnât you think to leave some leeway?
As for future interactions, Iâm sorry, I donât wish to associate with physicians lacking integrity and responsibility anymore!"
"Well said!" The crowd burst into applause enthusiastically, not expecting the young Divine Doctor not only possessed exceptional medical skills but also such an awe-inspiring wit.
"Little girl, donât go too far!" Doctor Xu shouted intolerably, as a highly reputed saintly physician being reprimanded by a girl half his ageâhow could he accept it!
"Doctor Xu, the young Divine Doctor is right, we advise you not to waste time and quickly kowtow three times. Otherwise, we wonât let you go!" The crowd sided with Nianyang, loudly mocking.
Doctor Xu wished he could leave, but the surrounding physicians deliberately moved to block him in the middle, making escape impossible.
With no choice, Doctor Xu could only kneel before Nianyang with humiliation, slowly kowtowing three times, and then fled in shame amid the booing laughter!
