Chapter 947: Chapter 948: I Want a Divorce 1
A very slight movement, hidden in Nianyangâs neck, silently weeping, Li Tingyan was completely unaware.
In that husky voice, almost reduced to a whisper, he murmured softly, "Nini, my wife, Iâm really scared, I fear you might never wake up, fear you might never speak to me again, that Iâll never have the chance to explain, leaving you misunderstanding me, with grievances. I donât want you to be wronged."
"But Iâm also afraid of you waking up, afraid that you are no longer the Nini that I want. Iâve never been this scared before..."
The girlâs eyes were now fully open, clear and bright, no longer as blank and empty as before.
However, having been dormant for so long, waking up suddenly left her mind still in a fog. She wanted to sort through her memories, but an annoying voice kept chattering in her ears.
Unable to resist, she lifted her weak hand, gently nudging the crew-cut head buried under her neck, and spoke with a voice raspier than his,
"What are you doing?"
Rumble.
A clap of thunder exploded inside Li Tingyanâs head.
What did he hear?
He! Heard! What!
Nini actually spoke, is it real?
In an instant, Li Tingyan was so shocked that he didnât dare to move or look, he could only instinctively respond,
"Is it you Nini, youâve returned, are you speaking to me?"
Nianyang swallowed, "Youâre so noisy."
Li Tingyan suddenly lifted his head, without any warning meeting Nianyangâs opened eyes, the moment their gazes locked.
It was like traversing mountains and rivers, enduring countless hardships, finally converging in a galaxy of stars.
Li Tingyan was frozen there, stiffly and mechanically reaching out a hand to touch Nianyangâs face,
"Is it really you Nini, is it really you? Am I dreaming?"
"I..."
Nianyang had just started to speak when Li Tingyan swiftly pulled her into his masculine embrace.
He held her so tightly, so fiercely, as if she were a once-lost national treasure, sobbing uncontrollably,
"Nini, I knew it was you, it had to be you, youâve come back, I knew you couldnât bear to leave me..."
Nianyang let out a soft hum, struggling to speak,
"Can you let me go, I canât breathe..."
Li Tingyan realized heâd gotten too emotional, quickly calming himself down, slightly releasing his grip, but his arms still wrapped around Nianyang, unwilling to let go.
He had so much to say to Nianyang, but seeing her weary little face, a bittersweet satisfaction filled his heart, leaving him at a loss for words.
Nianyangâs head throbbed, a soft groan escaping her lips, which immediately threw Li Tingyanâs world into turmoil,
"Whatâs wrong Nini, are you feeling unwell?"
Nianyang pressed her lips together, her watery eyes gazing at the manâs handsome face so near to hers, as her chaotic thoughts slowly and completely settled back into place.
Her long, curled lashes trembled slightly, and the painful memories from before she slept surged violently into her mind.
She remembered calling Li Tingyan all night when she was helpless, only to receive no response because he was stargazing with another woman.
She also recalled how she traversed mountains and rivers to find him, only to be met with his frowned disapproval.
And when she fell into the water, he didnât hesitate to choose anotherâs silhouette over hers...
In the end, she was tormented by Phoenix, overwhelmed by pain, if thereâs an afterlife, Ayang, could you love only me...
