"What was with that policewoman?" Song Xiaoru couldn’t hold back and asked as soon as they got in the car, and then she chuckled, finding the whole incident hilarious.

Song Xiaodong laughed and said, "I had a bit of a beef with her, she was trying to get back at me. She thought you were my girlfriend and wanted to spoil my fun. Little did she know, she ended up ruining your day. The way she ran off was like she desperately wanted to crawl into a hole."

Song Xiaoru retorted, "I’m not asking about that. I saw that too. I’m asking about your real relationship with her."

"Real relationship? There’s nothing much, just met her a couple of times," Song Xiaodong briefly explained their past encounters, even mentioning the incident where he got the better of Qiao Yutong.

Except for some confidential issues or things that might worry Song Xiaoru, Song Xiaodong didn’t hide anything from Song Xiaoru.

After this exchange, they had entered the house. Song Xiaoru gave Song Xiaodong a look and said, "You, always flirting around, no wonder someone came for revenge."

Song Xiaodong awkwardly smiled and said, "I was just messing around, I didn’t really do anything to her."

Song Xiaoru, with a stern face, said, "You can’t do this in the future. Otherwise, what if you really irritate someone you don’t like, and they keep pestering you—will you marry them or not?"

"Seriously though, sis, you don’t need to worry about my marriage. I like being with you, and while you’re still single, I’ll stay with you. If anyone else joined us, it would ruin our world for two."

"Cut it out, what ’world for two’ are we having?" Song Xiaoru retorted, but she felt an inexplicable sweetness in her heart. She knew that no mayoral daughter or glamorous CEO could outweigh her place in Song Xiaodong’s heart.

"Hehe..." Song Xiaodong wrapped his arm around Song Xiaoru’s shoulders and kissed her on the face, giddily saying, "It’s just the two of us at home, isn’t that a world for two?"

"Stop it, you’re becoming more and more improper by the day." Song Xiaoru spat, pushing Song Xiaodong away, and asked, "By the way, those guys from earlier, what did you do to them?"

Upon mentioning those scammers, Song Xiaodong snorted and said irritably, "Those bastards, I couldn’t just let them off easily. Recalling the incident, Song Xiaoru still felt a chill, knowing that without Song Xiaodong, she might have easily settled the matter with money. Still, she worried, "But by doing this, it’s like you’re causing them harm. If they report it to the police, won’t it bring you trouble?"

Song Xiaodong smiled slightly and said, "Sis, you don’t need to worry about that. My methods aren’t something people can easily detect. Even if they went to the hospital now, they wouldn’t find anything."

Song Xiaoru nodded and said, "Well, that’s good then. It’ll teach them a lesson."

After those scammers ran off, the one complaining of pain was immediately taken to the hospital, but despite extensive tests, nothing was found wrong. No bone issues, no injuries; in the end, the doctor could only diagnose it as psychogenic pain and prescribe some painkillers.

Unfortunately, the painkillers didn’t work very well. While they relieved the pain shortly after being taken, the relief lasted less than an hour before the pain returned, forcing him to take more medication for relief. This cycle continued for several days, torturing them to the point of exhaustion. Only then did they realize that they were better off than the guy with chest pains, who, at least, wasn’t agitated by constant sleep deprivation—the taste of wanting but fearing sleep was simply worse than death for them.

By now, they surely knew they had fallen victim to Song Xiaodong’s schemes. But even given ten times the courage, they wouldn’t dare trouble Song Xiaodong, being forced to endure it silently. They couldn’t even think of scamming or harming others; just surviving had become difficult enough for them.
