Song Xiaodong gripped the shovel handle and, with a sudden exertion of shoulder strength, forcefully snapped it, breaking the solid wooden handle in two with a crisp crack.

"I warn you, you’d better not lay hands on me again, or I’ll not be polite to you," Song Xiaodong glared at Lin Gang with eyes as sharp as arrows, then went over and helped Lin Su’er up.

"Su’er," Song Xiaodong said as he saw that the left side of Lin Su’er’s face was swollen, with blood at the corner of her mouth. He felt both heartache and anger, and really wanted to give her father a good beating, but he knew that doing so would only make things more difficult for Lin Su’er.
