Chapter 526: Chapter 527: You Can Do This
The next morning, when Song Xiaodong woke up, he saw Song Xiaodong looking at him with a tilted head, a somewhat strange gleam in his eyes.
Song Xiaodong immediately felt his hand was placed where it shouldnât be and panicked, saying hastily, "Sis, I..."
Surprisingly, Song Xiaoru reacted very calmly, with only a slight reprimand in her tone, "You, always so restless with your hands and feet, youâve been like this since you were small."
Seeing that Song Xiaoru wasnât angry, Song Xiaodong breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Sorry, I didnât know where to put my hand once I fell asleep."
"Youâve touched enough when you were younger, havenât you?" Song Xiaoru gave Song Xiaodong a look and then cuddled into his embrace a bit more saying, "We donât need to get up so early today. I have a meeting at 9:30, and the venue is nearby; weâll have enough time even if we get up at eight."
Song Xiaodong uttered an "Oh" and said, "Iâll... go to the bathroom first."
Suddenly, Song Xiaoru chuckled and said, "If youâre really going, just go. Thereâs no need to make such a point of it. Having a reaction in the early morning is normal for a man."
Song Xiaodong didnât expect Song Xiaoru to talk about the matter so openly, and he looked at her, astonished, unsure of what to say for a moment.
Brushing a lock of hair from her forehead, Song Xiaoru said, "Donât look at me like that. I suddenly realized, we grew up this way. Why should I care too much about habits developed over many years? As long as in your heart you think of me as your sister, and I think of you as my brother, as long as we donât go too far, why should I fuss over such trivial matters with you?"
After gazing into Song Xiaoruâs gentle eyes for a while, Song Xiaodong completely relaxed and said, "Sis, do you know why I always like to touch you?"
Song Xiaoru smiled faintly, "Mom died early; you probably always thought of me as Mom, right?"
"Exactly," Song Xiaodong nodded repeatedly, "Itâs really like that. Touching you is a completely different feeling; itâs an indescribable peace, whereas touching them is a desire of a sexual nature."
Song Xiaoru stroked Song Xiaodongâs face, "I know. When you used to hug me as a child, I heard you talk in your sleep, always calling out for Mom. Thatâs why I let you touch."
"Sis, youâre so good to me." Song Xiaodong hugged Song Xiaoru, moved.
"Let go a bit, youâre choking me," Song Xiaoru pushed Song Xiaodong away, "I need to go to the bathroom if you donât."
"Iâm going too; Iâve been holding it all night. How can I not?"
After taking care of their needs, they once again snuggled back in bed, Song Xiaoru resting her head on Song Xiaodongâs arm, squinting her eyes, hoping to catch a bit more sleep.
A moment later, she gently tugged on Song Xiaodongâs hand that was resting on her shoulder and said with her eyes closed, "If you want to touch, do it openly, donât always sneak a touch while asleep."
"Ah..." Song Xiaodong exclaimed, clearly with a touch of excitement.
"I knew you had that little trick up your sleeve, go ahead and touch," Song Xiaoru moved closer into Song Xiaodongâs embrace.
Song Xiaodong finally mustered up the courage to move his hand forward, feeling completely different awake than when it was positioned in there upon waking. Song Xiaoru seemed to tense her body, but once Song Xiaodong really started touching, Song Xiaoru relaxed.
"You donât need to be so tense, just donât pinch too hard," Song Xiaoru spoke softly, before adding, "Dongzi, youâre a doctor. Do you think thereâs something defective about your personality?"
Song Xiaodong had never really thought about this question before. After pondering for a moment, he replied with a bitter smile, "I guess there is. Lacking parental love from a young age, Iâve always been searching for a motherly affection in you. Iâm afraid of someone taking you away from me, afraid youâll leave me like Mom did. My need to control you is also particularly strong."
"I knew it. There really arenât many little brothers as clingy to their sisters as you are."
Song Xiaodong spoke apologetically, "Iâm sorry. Now that I know, I will gradually adjust my mindset."
"Itâs really nothing. I know you genuinely care about me, afraid of me being the slightest bit wronged. You can only be at ease when I am by your side. Iâm also busy with my career right now and do not have the thought of finding someone to marry. Maybe I wonât ever get married in this lifetime."
"Really?" Song Xiaodongâs eyes suddenly lit up with surprise.
"Oi, take it easy," Song Xiaoru chided with a glare at Song Xiaodong, "Look how happy you are. And you say youâre going to change?"
Song Xiaodong chuckled awkwardly, "Well, I just havenât gotten used to it yet. Itâs going to take a process."
"Let nature take its course. You donât have to force it. I feel pretty good about how things are right now. After all, getting married to a man and living day by day would be just like this. Seeing you now with achievements and twoâno! Three... no, wrong, four..."
Suddenly, Song Xiaoru reached out and twisted Song Xiaodongâs ear, "You lousy kid, making me confused about how many daughters-in-law you have."
Song Xiaodong pretended to be in pain, gritting his teeth and grimacing, "Iâve confessed everything now, I havenât hidden a thing."
"Hmm, even with these, itâs not a small number. I really donât know how youâre going to handle it. When the time comes, if you canât manage it, Iâll still have to worry about this whole family. If there are more kids in the future, Iâll be even busier."
As she spoke, Song Xiaoruâs expression softened. She was very fond of children. The thought of one day helping Song Xiaodong with his kids made her look forward to it.
"Hey, I told you not to squeeze hard, why are you still pinching like this? Itâs really uncomfortable." After talking for a while, Song Xiaodongâs mind had drifted away from his hands, which had started moving subconsciously, and soon Song Xiaoru furrowed her brow.
Song Xiaodong quickly loosened his grip and said awkwardly, "Iâm just used to it, used to it."
"You little rascal, youâre proficient at this," Song Xiaoru glared at him and said, "Remember, when you touch me, first, donât use strength, and second, donât pinch my head."
"Got it, got it," Song Xiaodong chuckled.
Discussing this matter now should have been very intimate, but the two of them seemed incredibly casual and normal about it. Song Xiaodong showed no longing, while Song Xiaoru was utterly natural.
Their relationship now was closer than when Song Xiaodong had just returned but more natural than then. Perhaps it was because both had resolved the issues in their hearts, or maybe it was after that incident where they almost made a mistake that they both experienced an emotional elevation.
In any case, the nature of their relationship was extraordinarily peculiar. If not for them personally experiencing it, no one else could fully understand their strange yet heartwarming bond.
