Chapter 938: Chapter 939: Wearing a Peach Blossom Look
After taking a few steps, Song Xiaodong asked, "Who was that person?"
"You donât know him?" Lu Yaobing looked at Song Xiaodong with a puzzled expression.
Song Xiaodong shrugged and said, "At this school, besides knowing your class, I honestly donât recognize many people."
Lu Yaobing gritted her teeth and said, "Heâs the director of the Academic Affairs Office in our Traditional Chinese Medicine College."
"Do you have some kind of grudge against him?" Song Xiaodong frowned as he asked.
Lu Yaobing let out a cold snort and said, "That guyâs a total scumbag. He keeps asking girls to go chat with him privately, then makes inappropriate demands. He tried it with me once, too, but I firmly rejected him. Since then, heâs been looking for ways to cause trouble for me."
Song Xiaodongâs face darkened. "Thereâs actually such a teacher in the university?"
"Is there a school without a few rotten apples? The worst part is, that guy has some connections. If students report him, it always gets suppressed by higher-ups. Plus, he has a lot of power, and not many students dare to go up against him. I know several girls who have suffered because of him but are too scared to speak out."
Song Xiaodong said, "Heâs nothing more than scum in this school."
"Youâre telling me."
"If he dares to bother you again, just tell me. No one has the right to bully my apprentice."
"Thanks, Master." Lu Yaobing gave Song Xiaodong a sweet smile. Hearing such protective words from him really felt heartwarming.
By the time the two of them arrived at the classroom, it was almost time for class to start. Most of the students were already there, though it was clear that some seats were still empty.
Even though at the last class, Song Xiaodong had demonstrated impressive acupuncture skills, some students didnât care. For them, learning wasnât the priorityâgetting their diploma was. Since this course didnât count toward credits and wouldnât affect their graduation, they didnât bother attending. Staying in their dorms to play games seemed like a better option.
Wang Xiaoling tilted her head and stared at Lu Yaobing, her unblinking eyes making Lu Yaobing feel extremely uncomfortable. "Hey, Xiao Ling, why are you staring at me like that? Is there something on my face?"
"Mmhmm!" Wang Xiaoling nodded with great seriousness and enthusiasm.
"Something on my face?" Lu Yaobing looked at Wang Xiaoling in surprise.
Wang Xiaoling said, "Yeah, thereâs a peach blossom on your faceâa big, vibrant one."
"What? Stop talking nonsense." Lu Yaobing instinctively touched her face.
"Youâre saying there isnât?" Wang Xiaoling immediately opened her phoneâs camera, snapped a picture of Lu Yaobingâs face, and handed it to her. "Look at yourselfârosy cheeks, expressive eyes. If this isnât peach blossom luck, then what is? Donât tell me you came in with Teacher Song. Are you two an item? You know how strict the school is about teacher-student relationships. Youâd better be careful not to get expelled."
Lu Yaobingâs face turned dark. "What nonsense are you spouting? Thereâs nothing going on. Teacher Song is practically a father-to-be!"
"Oh... so, heâs married? Well, thatâs good then. But still, the way you looked coming in with himâit screamed pure joy. You wouldnât happen to have a crush on him and are trying to be a mistress, would you?"
"Come on! Can you say something nice for once? Seriously, do I look like Iâm that desperate? I just asked Teacher Song some questions, and he explained things to me. Thatâs why I was happy, okay? Youâll find out soon enough."
"Keeping secrets from me?" Wang Xiaoling grumbled unhappily.
"This is between me and Teacher Song," Lu Yaobing said smugly.
Then, Song Xiaodong began to teach. Two hours flew by quickly, with plenty of interactions throughout the session, making the classroom atmosphere vibrant.
However, Song Xiaodong didnât bring up the True Qi method involving Lu Yaobing. For now, there were too many students, and he wasnât certain about everyoneâs character. He needed more time to filter out those who werenât serious about learning. Only after further assessments would the truly dedicated students be taught real skills.
"Teacher Song, we have a free medical consultation event today. Are you coming?"
After class, as Song Xiaodong was about to leave, Lu Yaobing quickly stepped forward to block his way.
"Free medical consultation? Whatâs that about?" asked Song Xiaodong.
Wang Xiaoling immediately jumped in, explaining, "Every two weeks, our school organizes a free medical consultation event. Both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine students participate. We students do the initial diagnoses while professors oversee and guide us. Lots of people come for treatment. But our TCM College doesnât usually make much of an impression, and we get mocked by the other departments all the time. So, not many students from our college like to attend."
Song Xiaodong glanced at his watch. "How long does it last? I need to get home later tonight."
"Itâs just for two hours. It ends by 5:30," said Lu Yaobing, looking at him with anticipation.
Feeling that it might be a good opportunity to demonstrate his skills and further inspire his apprentice to learn, as well as the other students, Song Xiaodong nodded. "Alright! Iâll come with you to check it out."
Only about ten students from the Traditional Chinese Medicine College went with them, while some others wandered off without a care.
Song Xiaodong didnât mind and followed them to the consultation venue.
The free medical consultation was set up at the south gate of the campus, where there was a large, open space. Over a dozen big sunshades had been pitched, with long tables arranged beneath them. Each group was led by a teacher accompanied by a few students.
The Traditional Chinese Medicine College had its own designated area, where a professor in his fifties sat with around ten students.
"The turnout for the Traditional Chinese Medicine College is really scarce," Song Xiaodong muttered, shaking his head. On the Western Medicine side, every departmentâsurgery, internal medicine, ENT, and so onâhad its own team for the event.
Meanwhile, TCM only had this one spot. They appeared overwhelmingly outnumbered. There were few patients as well, and most of the TCM students sat around idly, looking bored.
Lu Yaobing was already chatting with the professor in charge. The professor frowned as he glanced at Song Xiaodong and said, "Fine, you can sit here, but donât act recklessly. If something goes wrong, I wonât take responsibility."
Song Xiaodong was taken aback at first but quickly understood. The professor was judging him because of how young he looked. It was common knowledge in Traditional Chinese Medicine that the older the practitioner, the more experienced they were. Naturally, the professor assumed his skills were mediocre at best.
This perception was so ingrained that Song Xiaodong didnât take it personally. Instead, he smiled and nodded politely.
