CapĂtulo 1971: Chapter 1863: The Great Whirlpool
âI hope you know what youâre doing!â Yumi Ono looked at Xu Duoduo distrustfully, but now the instrument on the ship was broken, the sky was so dark that nothing could be seen clearly. Even Yumi Ono wasnât confident about getting everyone back safely, so she had to follow Xu Duoduoâs lead and advance at full speed in another direction.
The wind blew stronger, and this direction was exactly where the storm was coming from. Before long, Yumi Ono and Xu Duoduo were drenched, their faces pale and lips turning purple. Yumi Ono fared better in her wool coat, while Xu Duoduo, wearing a thinner outfit, had her white jacket completely soaked, her flat torso exposed unmistakably.
Song Xiaodong opened the cockpit door, retrieved two raincoats and some dry thick clothes, handed them to the two pilots, closed the cabin door, and shut himself outside. He then used his sensory ability to perceive the two women changing clothes.
Yumi Ono was petite but voluptuous, unlike Teacher Wang, who only had a shapely behind and a torso not much better than Xu Duoduoâs. Yumi Ono was indeed full-bosomed and wide-hipped, both upper and lower views were spectacular.
And Xu Duoduoâs two long legs were as straight as chopsticks, slender and fair, enticingly akin to peeled sugar cane, yet her upper body was truly unnoticeable, flat like a malnourished man, even Song Xiaodongâs chest muscles were more prominent than Xu Duoduoâs.
In no time, the two had changed into dry new clothes and donned their raincoats. Song Xiaodong immediately pushed the door open and came in.
Xu Duoduo and Yumi Ono were both curious about how he knew theyâd just finished changing, wondering if there was a camera in the cabin.
Song Xiaodong took the wet clothes outside and then returned to the cockpit, sitting behind Yumi Ono to observe the situation.
The storm intensified, the Miaogaoâs beams enduring a severe test, its iron sheets creaking as they rose and fell, making listenersâ hearts clench.
âMiss Xu, are you sure this is the right route? The storm is getting worse!â Yumi Ono worried her small boat would break apart with the next big wave.
Xu Duoduo didnât respond, continuing to smell the salty sea air.
Song Xiaodong also sniffed hard; apart from the salty smell, there was nothing else.
âOkay, turn left 30°.â
Yumi Ono followed Xu Duoduoâs command.
They progressed for an unknown duration, when Song Xiaodong noticed an unusual flash ahead.
âThis is it!â Xu Duoduo also pointed at the flash and said.

At first, Song Xiaodong thought the distant flash was just lightning, but later found this light hadnât vanished, remaining constant.
Guided by this beam, Yumi Ono gained confidence, cautiously navigating between giant wavesâwatching her made Song Xiaodongâs heart skip, even Xu Duoduo was greatly impressed by Yumi Onoâs piloting skills!
âMiss Onoâs driving skills are indeed superb!â
Song Xiaodong frowned slightly.
The Miaogao drew closer to the flash, finally revealing it: a beam cast down from the sky, the whole sky cloaked in dense dark clouds, but in that spot, the clouds appeared punctured by Sun Wukongâs Jingu Bang, revealing blue sky, shining down a beam of light, from afar the Miaogao couldnât see the blue sky, only the beam seemed like a flashlight suspended in the sky.
As Yumi Ono basked in Xu Duoduoâs praise, the wind direction abruptly shifted, the water current below changed as well; the Miaogaoâs turbines growled with a heavy roar, the entire vessel leaned right, carried away by the current.
âA giant whirlpool!â Yumi Ono finally saw clearly, the beam precisely illuminating three reefs protruding into the sky at Demonâs Corner, resembling uneven beast teeth. The water around the reefs swirled swiftly around their center, forming a massive whirlpool, this beam shone from the typhoonâs eye!
The three sharp reefs were at the whirlpoolâs center, the water level there rising at least tens of meters higher than Miaogaoâs position, the Miaogao sat at the whirlpoolâs edge, seemingly about to be swept into the central area!
Both the water and the wind above were spinning rapidly around the reefsâ center, the wind tearing a slit in the skyâs dark clouds, revealing a beam of light. Song Xiaodong, Xu Duoduo, and Yumi Ono watched as the drastically dropping water level seemed like standing on the cliffâs edge, looking to plunge into a deep abyss.
âFull rudder backwards!â Yumi Ono instinctively intended to reverse.
âNo! Not enough power, we canât make it, the water between those reefs is stationary, we should head to the center, passing between two reefs, wait for the storm to clear, then leave!â
âSuch a massive whirlpool, entering the center surely leads to losing control, if we crash into the reefs, weâre doomed!â Yumi Ono retained some sanity, considering Xu Duoduo to be surely mad.
âWe canât go, fighting against the current wonât work!â Xu Duoduo, growing anxious, stood up, trying to seize the helm.
Xu Duoduoâs words made Yumi Ono realize that in such a whirlpool, going against the current was futile, the only chance was to go with the flow and seize the opportunity to escape.
âGet up!â Xu Duoduo pulled Yumi Ono up, sat at the main helm, steering left, aligning with the whirlpoolâs motion, following the current, inching toward the whirlpoolâs center.
The ship sped up, Xu Duoduo seized the timing, turned right rudder, instead of rushing out, they headed directly toward the vortexâs center, drawing nearer to one of the towering reefs, seemingly about to crash.
