Chapter 1973: Chapter 1863: The Great Whirlpool (Part 3)
The Dragon Gate Warriors immediately assumed battle formation, lying prone on the deck and concealing themselves. Blinding flashes of gunfire erupted from the decks of both ships, with bullets snaking between them.
Sun Yiyi and Chu Xianling, hearing the gunfire, became excited. They went to the Dragon Gate Warriorsâ warehouse and took out two automatic rifles, each holding one and preparing to head onto the deck.
"Madam, itâs dangerous up there!" Dragon Three and Dragon Six surrounded Sun Yiyi and Chu Xianling.
"Enough, let us through!" Chu Xianling impatiently replied.
"Are you really going to stop the Sect Leaderâs Wife?" Sun Yiyi widened her eyes, stunning Dragon Three and Dragon Six, who had no choice but to step aside and follow behind the two women.
"Damn it, theyâve modified their shipâs hull too! It seems theyâre well-prepared!" Xu Duoduo cursed in frustration when his plan didnât work.
"Hold on, letâs meet them first! Turn left!" Song Xiaodong ordered Xu Duoduo to turn left, and Xu Duoduo didnât hesitate, immediately turning left, exposing the entire ship to the shooting range of the Libis.
This maneuver also provided the Dragon Gate Warriors on the deck of the Miaogao with an excellent shooting angle. The Dragon Gate Warriors immediately understood and began shooting at the bow of the Libis. It was now the Libisâs bridgeâs turn for misfortune, as all the glass on the frontal deck structures shattered, with one person inside the bridge getting hit, while the bow of the Libis faced the Miaogao with no shooting width, forcing the crew to cower on either side of the bow.
The Libis also immediately turned left, preparing to come alongside the Miaogao. Song Xiaodong saw an advantage and wouldnât let the Libis get a chance to retaliate. He quickly said to Xu Duoduo, "Hurry, turn right."
By the time the Libis also turned its hull sideways, the Miaogao had already resumed its forward stance, leaving only its stern for the Libis.
"Damn it, these bastards are really sly!" said Captain Carlyle of the Libis, slamming the armrest of his pilot seat in anger, his eyes glaring at the Miaogao.
"Got it!" Xu Duoduo exclaimed with a clap, devising a new plan to continue heading toward the outskirts of this calm water area.
The Libis was much larger than the Miaogao and could directly ram the Miaogao sinking it, but the Miaogao maneuvered like a loach, weaving left and right, infuriating Captain Carlyle. Ignoring everything, he watched the Miaogao continue outward and instead relied on the Libisâs recent turn momentum to find an angle and launch two torpedoes.
On the deck, the Dragon Gate Warriors were fiercely engaged with the mercenaries on the Libisâs deck. When the torpedoes launched, the Dragon Gate Warriors clearly saw it and hurriedly shouted towards the hatch, "Torpedoes! Torpedoes!"
Chapter 1865 Abandon Ship
"Torpedoes! Torpedoes!" Song Xiaodong shouted to Xu Duoduo.
Xu Duoduo didnât speak but raised his head to look at one of three distant rock hazards before steering toward it.
The torpedoes sped swiftly, but the Miaogao didnât lag far behind, requiring some time for the torpedoes to catch it, while the hazards were looming ahead.
As Xu Duoduo neared the hazards, he made a sharp turn, causing the torpedoes, influenced by magnetic forces, to crash into the rocks, erupting with two explosions and dazzling flashes, but the rocks remained unchanged, only crumbling a small piece.
How hard these rocks were; had they collided earlier, everyone might have been buried here.
"Woohoo!" Song Xiaodong cheered.
Xu Duoduo navigated the vessel past the rocks, turning the bow to face the Libis head-on, with the two ships on a collision course.
"Youâre crazy! Our ship structure canât withstand it!" Song Xiaodong stood up in fright.
"Co-pilot, shut up!" Xu Duoduo, now temperamental, shouted at Song Xiaodong.
Seeing the Miaogao charging straight at them, the Libis also revved up, shouting to the crew, "Prepare to ram!"
The Libis crew scrambled to grab anything immobile nearby in preparation for the collision.
On the Miaogao, the Dragon Gate Warriors did the same, awaiting the impending crash.
Just as the ships were about to collide, the crews on deck could clearly see each other. Suddenly, a sharp sound of metal being cut by a sharp tool was heard, and the Libis abruptly veered to one side.
"Got it!" Xu Duoduo shouted in excitement, steering hard, making a sharp turn to the side opposite the Libisâs maneuver, with the ships passing each other, facing the hulls, and intense gunfire erupting on the deck.
After completely passing each other, Xu Duoduo turned back to find the Libis had stopped, beginning to list to one side.
"What happened to them?" Song Xiaodong asked.
"Hahaha, thereâs a hidden reef below. The Miaogaoâs shallow draft maneuvers over it, but the Libis deep draft, even if not stranded, has scraped a huge gash on its hull!" Xu Duoduo explained.
Captain Carlyle, hearing the sharp scraping of metal from beneath his ship, knew exactly what had happened and quickly shouted outside, "Itâs a reef! Seal the hatches!"
Carlyle handed the main seat to the co-pilot, going down personally to check the situation.
Indeed, the shipâs bottom was torn open by a hard magnet, water rapidly flooding in, the deck quickly tilting.
"Quick, cement the hole!" Captain Carlyle instructed the shipwrights to repair the breach, using rubber materials for the initial seal, followed by cement.
However, the breach was simply too large, and the water too severe, with insufficient cement onboard to seal such a large opening, only delaying the waterâs ingress.
