Chapter 2095: Chapter 1960: Eye-Opening Experience (Part 6)
"And he even managed to slip and fall by the pool. Thatās enough to make people die laughing," Song Xiaodong said.
"Let this be a lesson for him. Think he can buy anything he wants? Can he even afford it?" Qiao Yutong said, looking toward the door at the other end of the pool.
On the other side, when Li Jingtian saw Song Xiaodong and Qiao Yutong, his heart skipped a beat and started racing. He exhaled a few times, patted his chest, and finally mustered up the courage to walk over.
"Director Qiao, Iām really sorry about just now, itās all my fault, I deserve to die, I deserve to die! Please donāt stoop to argue with a nobody like me!" Li Jingtian stared at the ground, apologizing to Qiao Yutong.
"What are you apologizing to me for? Werenāt you about to call the police and arrest my friend?" Qiao Yutong said coolly, glancing at Song Xiaodong.
"It was my fault, I didnāt know it was you, Director Qiao. If Iād known, I wouldāve stayed far, far away!" Li Jingtian bent at the waist, put his hands together, and bowed to Qiao Yutong over and over like she was a Buddha statue.
"Let me ask you, how long have you been buying sex here?" Qiao Yutong asked him.
"Three years, Director Qiao," Li Jingtian replied honestly.
"Thatās disgusting."
"Yes, yes, yes, I wonāt dare do it again!" Li Jingtian was trembling, cold sweat pouring down.
"I canāt be bothered to argue with you. Get lost," Qiao Yutong frowned and waved him off.
"Director Qiao... youāre just going to let me go like that?" Li Jingtian could hardly believe it.
"What, you donāt want to go?"
"I do, I do!"
"Then why arenāt you rolling out of here?" Song Xiaodong said on her behalf.
"Yes, yes!"
Li Jingtian took off at a trot.
"What a mood killer," Qiao Yutong said to Song Xiaodong.
"Itās not that bad. We were already tired from playing anyway. Just happened to catch a nice little show, whatās wrong with that?" Song Xiaodong consoled her.
"True, fair point," Qiao Yutong nodded.
"Alright, Iām heading back," Qiao Yutong got to her feet.
"Back where?" Song Xiaodong asked.
"Back to the bureau, of course," Qiao Yutong replied.
"Didnāt we already strike a dirty little deal earlier?" Song Xiaodong asked her.
"I was interested at first, but that kid totally ruined the mood," Qiao Yutong said.
"That kid, I really should teach him a good lesson for messing up my good thing!" Song Xiaodong thought to himself, a somewhat disappointed look on his face.
"But..." Seeing his expression, Qiao Yutong couldnāt help but laugh as she spoke.
"But what?"
"Seeing you like that, Iām thinking I could compensate you a bit," Qiao Yutong said.
"How are you going to compensate me?" Song Xiaodong asked curiously.
Qiao Yutong thought for a moment, then asked him, "Your scar treatment, what level are you at now?"
"Not that high. Just about the level of a top plastic surgeon in the country," Song Xiaodong felt he was already being very modest.
"Yeah right, keep bragging," Qiao Yutong said with disdain.
"For real. If you donāt believe me, go take a look at the scars on Yiyiās back. The colorās changed a bit, sure, but the surface of the skin is smooth and flat. Thereās basically no scar," Song Xiaodong said.
"Like Iāve got nothing better to do than stare at your wifeās back," Qiao Yutong pouted.
"What, Director Qiao, youāve got scars on your body too?" Song Xiaodong asked.
A faint blush suddenly crept onto Qiao Yutongās face.
"So I really nailed that one, huh?" Song Xiaodong went on.
"Iām a cop, getting hurt and having scars is normal, alright?" Qiao Yutong said seriously.
"True. I can treat them for you. Considering the relationship between us, I can give you a twenty-percent discount," Song Xiaodong nodded and said to her.
"Wow, stingy much. You finally offer me something, and itās just twenty percent off," Qiao Yutong said.
"Business is business, relationships are relationships. Even between blood brothers you keep the accounts clear. I donāt treat just anybody, you know that. Right now Lin Suāer Hospital probably has over two hundred chickenpox patients waiting for me to prescribe meds. Iām busy as hell every day. Giving you twenty percent off is already pretty generous," Song Xiaodong said shamelessly.
"Whether you can even cure it is another story. Iām not necessarily going to use you. And youāre giving me a twenty-percent discount?" Qiao Yutong snorted and shot him a sidelong glance.
"I can definitely cure it. Itās just that after itās cured, the color canāt be exactly the same as before. Maybe my father could get it back to perfectly intact, but I canāt do that yet," Song Xiaodong answered honestly.
"I donāt need it exactly the same. As long as the raised part of the scar can be smoothed out, thatās enough," Qiao Yutongās face reddened again.
"Then thatās absolutely no problem," Song Xiaodong nodded confidently.
"There is a problem," Qiao Yutong said instead.
"Hm? What problem?"
"The problem is me," Qiao Yutong replied.
"What problem do you have?" Song Xiaodong asked.
"I..." Even the tips of Qiao Yutongās ears turned red.
"The location of the scar is a bit..." She only got halfway.
"Oh..." Song Xiaodong indicated he understood.
"Do you have some kind of scar medicine I can take back and apply myself?" Qiao Yutong came up with an idea.
"Thatās not impossible. But..."
"But prescribing meds without even looking at the scar is not really appropriate, because scars differ from each other. The depth of the wound is different, so the meds should be different too," Song Xiaodong said.
"Then forget it, I wonāt treat it. Iāll just leave it," hearing that, Qiao Yutongās eyes dimmed as she spoke to him.
"A patient shouldnāt shy away from a doctor. Let me examine it; itās not like youāll lose a piece of flesh," Song Xiaodong said to her.
"No way!" Qiao Yutong pouted again.
"Alright, alright."
"Let me think about it."
As they were chatting, Vice President Zhao called Song Xiaodong: "Hello? Mr. Song?"
"Vice President Zhao, Iām outside right now. Iāll be back at the hospital in a bit."
"Oh, good, good, thatās great. The hospital is almost surrounded by chickenpox patients. Their entire medical-bullying team showed up, covered in big blisters from head to toe, crying and screaming for the hospital to save them. Itās so satisfying to watch!" Vice President Zhao said.
"Mm, just tell them this: Iām not seeing patients today," Song Xiaodong said.
"Huh? Mr. Song, with so many patients, if you donāt see them, wonāt it keep spreading and infect even more people? If the outbreak gets out of control, itāll be serious," Vice President Zhao said to him.
"Donāt worry, Vice President Zhao. If I say that chickenpox wonāt spread, then it definitely wonāt. If it really did spread and they traced it back, Iād have more than enough heads to get shot off. I know what Iām doing," Song Xiaodong said.
"It really wonāt spread?" Vice President Zhao was half convinced, half dubious.
"Of course. I..." Song Xiaodong got halfway through.
"I personally poisoned them myself, how could I not know exactly whatās going on?" He didnāt say the second half out loud.
"Then Iām relieved. Iāll give Director Wu a heads-up too. As for the patients at the hospital, weāll just leave them to your discretion, Mr. Song. We canāt treat them anyway," Vice President Zhao said.
"Alright, Iām heading over to the hospital now."
