But to be fair, even if you really manage to rescue the Thunder Ancestor and overturn the Company, so what?
That Level 4.5 Civilization behind the Companyâdo you really think theyâll just watch a bunch of competitors who can cross the star sea in the flesh, with everyone a Brother Billa, escape from their petri dish?
You chimeras huddling in your fishpond feel like your life is miserable, but didnât they also fight one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight wars, fighting and fighting all the way from Earth, carving out a path to the stars?
If you donât fight, donât grab, donât kill, are they going to hand this starry sky over to you with a bow?
With just two Brother Billas, you really think you can beat them when they bring out their whole damn nest?
"Senior brother, which way now? Senior brother?"
The two of them suddenly leapt out of the escape light, and Xuan Du stared at the Moon before him, waiting for Chen Xuantianâs instructions.
Huh? Wait, why is he waiting for his instructions? Whereâs that guy? Hey~~
Chen Xuantian scratched his head and realized heâd already recovered his autonomy. He turned his head to look at Earth behind him, unsure whether it was because the distance was too far, or the Divine Sect Sect Hierarch on the Cloud Platform had finally started exerting force; anyway, it seemed heâd dropped out of Lingxuâs signal range.
But this guy Xuan Du actually doesnât know where to go?
Forget it, things are already like this. Weâre here anyway...
"You see that mushroom umbrella, right?"
Chen Xuantian pointed at the Moonâs south pole ice cap, at that enormous man-made structure visible to the naked eye, the palatial complexes rolling over the ring-mountain peaks, and sent the Moon Palace blueprints heâd obtained earlier to Xuan Du via Divine Sense.
"Thatâs the Taiyin Immortal Palace, the Companyâs lair..."
"Good!"
"Good... stuff..."
Good stuffâXuan Du shot over on that one "good."
A flash of Thunder Light streaked past, like a long sword whipping sideways, slicing the ring-mountain open with one Cut.
Of course, how could a Company lair like the Taiyin Immortal Palace be lacking in security guard dogs.
This Thunder Blade strike was like splitting open a beehive; countless, endless black Faceless People swarmed out like a swarm of bees.
Each one wore a black skintight suit, cloned combat enhanceds at the Immortal Venerable level per capita, bursting out of the ring-mountain like a swarm of flies when you blow a toilet to hell.
In the low-gravity environment, these biochemical soldiers fired off three hundred Gang Fists a second, each one a Superhuman flying punch, whooshing around like human torpedoes, zipping about as fast as a supersonic missile.
But it was fucking useless.
Just killing, just slaughter, slaughtering wildly, stringing them up to slaughter.
Boom boom boomâoh right, thereâs no boom boom boom on the Moon Surface, only swish swish swish, lightning striking nonstop.
From afar it looked like a long Thunder Blade weaving back and forth through a dense swarm of hornets, splitting and chopping again and again, hacking those Chimera hornets to bits, shredding them into a rain of flesh and a bloody gale.
The speed of both sidesâ combat was so fast that from far away you couldnât even tell whether the shreds scattering across the sky were bodies or afterimages.
All you could see was huge clumps of flesh blasted apart midair, flung out at high velocity, shredded bones and severed limbs whistling past under Chen Xuantianâs feet, forming a ring of flesh and blood in low lunar orbit.
And those temples and palaces built inside the ring-mountain, packed together like fish scales, those exquisitely delicate Immortal cities and Flying Boats, were collapsing and toppling at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Those enormous domesâwhether they were solar mirrors or atmospheric glaze tilesâwere smashed to pieces, and as the Refining pressure inside the Moon Palace vented out, it shot straight into space, glittering in the sunlight with specks of light, forming a magnificent fountain-like spectacle.
Amid the quaking mountains and ground, the underground structures also shattered apart; huge ridges of lunar regolith split open, forming scar-like, hideously terrifying crevices.
Obviously, in the blink of an eye, Xuan Du had already slaughtered his way through the security swarm, leveled the Moon Surface structures, and then dove headfirst along the underground tracks, planning to infiltrate the Titanâs hull via the subterranean logistics rail.
Good stuffâXuan Du is way too strong.
The Holy Daughterâs original assessment of this guy was that he was as ferocious as a Ghost God, that he single-handedly killed ten of the Divine Sectâs Immortal Venerables and butchered the Sect Hierarch out of office. Chen Xuantian had thought she was just being polite, doing the mutual business flattery thing.
After all, how could the Divine Lord just string the Netherworld Spring up and beat it, right? Back in the day the Divine Sect that dominated the world got swept out of the Central Plains by Xuan Du single-handedly and had to flee to the Western Regions to play hide-and-seek. If his pupils and grand-disciples werenât living up to expectations, if she didnât brag on him a bit, wouldnât that be super embarrassing?
But seeing this old bastard going all out now, even Chen Xuantian had to admit, there is something seriously off about Xuan Du. This Immortal Venerable is already absurd enough, and heâs an enhanced lightning edition on top of thatâwhat the hell are you even supposed to fight him with??
So Chen Xuantian sighed on the sidelines while watching, and at the same time remotely fed power, cutting the breakers to the Taiyin Immortal Palace and the Companyâs Titan, shutting down all their security systems, making a tiny and utterly insignificant contribution from behind the scenes.
Just then, Chen Xuantian suddenly seemed to hear the sound of water surging, like an auditory hallucination, so he lowered his head to look.
He saw a Catfish jump outâfrom the cradle, from the abyss, from the Voidâwith a leaf stuck to its forehead.
Holy shit! Kun!
The Kun shot him a look, yo.
"Yo my ass! Whatâs the situation now! What do we do!?"
The Kun indicated, chill, over here~
Over here?
Chen Xuantian instinctively followed the butt-wiggling Kun, then suddenly froze.
The Kun wasnât swimming toward the Moon, nor toward Earth, but toward the Void...
"Hey, where are we going? Weâre just leaving that guy?"
The Kun indicated, itâs fine, the doorâs over there.
The door is...
Chen Xuantian understood.
Because he saw it immediately.
He followed the Kun a couple of strokes, went around to the far side of the Moon, and saw the satellite in circumlunar orbit.
The one heâd visited once beforeâthat celestial body whose surface looked like mercury.
