"Mr. Baiyi, weâve arrived. Would you like me to escort you inside?" the Elf driver asked with a touch of elegance.
Baiyi considered for a moment but didnât refuse. Two Gold Coins appeared out of thin air in his hand and were flicked onto the passenger seat. "Just take me to the shop entrance."
"Very well, please sit tight." Seeing the Gold Coins, the Elfâs tone became more respectful. He gently tapped the gas pedal and, after presenting the Apocalypse Legionâs badge, smoothly entered the Inner City District.
Unlike the anxiety in the Outer City District, the Inner City District had recently experienced a series of explosions and many deaths.
Yet, this couldnât stop the debauchery of the entertainment district.
On the roofs of the taverns, song theaters, casinos, and brothels, powerful Silver-level members of the extraordinary released their aura, enveloping their respective entertainment venues, clearly signaling to the drunkards, gamblers, and patrons that this is a safe haven.
Colorful lights even illuminated the entire city, making the night no longer just night.
Luxurious cars came from all directions, entering the land protected by Silver.
The chaos of the Inner City actually made these protected areasâ businesses flourish.
Especially the brothels, they were the most prosperous, as the wealthy merchants still sought comfort amidst the chaos of tonight.
The Silver Powerhouse of the brothel had even placed a security monitor at the entrance, playing scenes of scantily clad, stunningly dreamlike girls, attracting many living beings to pause there.
They seemed to be Elves, a group renowned for their unwavering loyalty to love, yet they too seemed unable to resist the pull of the mundane world.
Powerful figures, beauties, tonight the brothels were victorious, with Elves... only the truly wealthy could afford them, as Elves are amongst the most elite of the extraordinary races on the Xiya Continent.
They seem to be perfect beings created by Gods, possessing extraordinary Bronze genes upon maturity.
Even in the time when Gods were present, Elves would mature to Silver; they had the pride to back it up. But now, in this shattered Xiya Continent, even that pride is fading.
However, at least the Elvesâ private matters were not so blatantly exposed if they didnât wish it.
Because, in the council, thereâs more than one Elf.
Buzz~
The sudden acceleration of the vehicle made Baiyi turn his head to look. In the Elf driverâs eyes, anger flickered, and through the rearview mirror, in those flames of anger, Baiyi also saw desolation.
Such scenarios, being forced is infuriating, but being willing is truly lamentable.
Baiyi lowered his head, casually fiddled with a few things, and took out three bottles of packaged milk. This milk originates from a crossbreed between a supernatural herbivore species and regular cows. It contains a faint hint of magic power and is a food Baiyi quite enjoys.
Inserting a straw, Baiyi took a sip and a slight smile appeared on the corner of his lips.
In Baiyiâs eyes now, this world is a real world, and in a real world, there are many genuine helplessnesses.
The supposedly pure and flawless race, in reality, will also be tainted with dust.
As the vehicle stopped, Baiyi opened the car door, offered no comfort, nor was there a need for comfort. Any wise being not fallen to the corruption of the civilian area could manage their emotions.
Taking another sip of milk, Baiyi looked at the Dawn Potion Shop covered in a cold aura.
Perhaps sensing his presence, Orâs magic power abruptly retreated, even concealing its presence, making it impossible to detect that inside there existed a Level 50 Witch Demon.
Baiyi walked into the potion shop. In the brightly lit store, only two employees stood behind the counter. They were watching the outside nervously, but their eyes lit up upon seeing Baiyi.
"Boss, welcome back." Ă2
Baiyi paused his steps, his eyes slightly wandering, an OL-uniformed Elf, a maid-outfit Lolita, this felt unexpectedly nice.
"Change out of those clothes from Luoning; youâre an employee, not a servant." Baiyi said, casting a glance at Aileen, his tone inexplicably saying, "Replenish."
He placed the other two bottles of milk on the counter and headed towards the workshop. He needed to sort out the interests for each party.
Now, Baiyi was sufficient to restrict Or. So, itâs best if Or could break through to Gold at this moment, as he would be of significant use for at least the next decade.
Aileenâs eyes lit up, quickly grabbing the two bottles of milk and giving one to Luoning. Just as she inserted the straw, preparing to drink, her expression suddenly froze.
She looked down, then at Luoning, unable to hold back a low curse: "Damn it, who are you belittling? Weâre not even adults, okay!"
Luoning was a bit confused. Why did sister suddenly start swearing?
She cautiously asked, "Sister Aileen, whatâs the matter?"
Aileen cast a resentful glance at the closed workshop door and said indignantly, "That stingy, petty boss was mocking us just now!"
"Mocking? No, he wasnât." Luoning, puzzled, pointed to the milk in her hand, her tone a bit affectionate, "The boss even brought us gifts, and did you notice? The boss has gotten a bit more handsome, I like him even more!"
Aileen paused, looked at the slender Luoning, and feebly waved her hand, "Right, right, the boss is the best. You indeed need to replenish."
She suddenly recalled Baiyiâs earlier gaze, seemingly looking at her figure, indicating that the "replenish" phrase was directed at her alone.
Damn it, now sheâs even more upset, what to do?
Aileen bit down on the straw bitterly, as if she were biting someone, with great force.
"Is this everything?"
In Orâs exclusive room, Baiyi was examining the nearly twenty boxes of things on the floor, asking with an indescribable tone.
Or nodded, "Yes, but this is quite a lot."
As he spoke, the aura of the Undead flickered continuously, and one Dawn Badge after another appeared out of thin air, totaling over forty.
Baiyiâs spiritual power flickered, patiently checking the amounts inside, finally nodding in satisfaction.
He put away the badges with a calm tone, "These badges contain about three hundred fifty thousand Gold Coins, and the materials and equipment in these boxes are worth about fifty thousand. According to the original share, you should receive eighty thousand Gold Coins this time, but..."
Or, who initially relaxed, paused, the Soul Fire under the hood suddenly turning Scarlet, staring intently at Baiyi.
As if ready to perish together at any moment, he had become thoroughly familiar with this capitalistâs ways in the past half-year.
Baiyi ignored the threat, his tone cold, "Your magic power recovered in one night. This indicates that the wealthy merchants you raided today left basically no survivors; youâre creating death energy and collecting souls. Youâve violated my rule of secrecy..."
"Dead people wonât expose my presence, this doesnât count as a violation!" Or couldnât help but interrupt, defending himself.
In his perspective, having killed everyone who had seen the Ghost and having absorbed all the souls into energy, how could he have exposed anything?
Even those who may have seen but actually hadnât were killed by him, and he had erased all his tracks.
According to Baiyiâs request, he perfectly completed the task; how could there still be talk of punishment?
Baiyi was unmoved, his tone still indifferent, "Therefore, your action this time will only earn you fifty thousand Gold Coins, the additional thirty thousand as the price for creating troubles for me."
Having spoken, Baiyi walked away amidst Orâs outburst of murderous intent, "Tomorrow Iâll give you a list of treasures, you can choose items worth fifty thousand Gold Coins from it, and Iâll get them for you. Without my orders, you still canât leave the potion shop, keep working..."
Baiyiâs words were calm as they came through.
But they made the Scarlet flame in Orâs eyes continuously flicker, eventually erupting:
"Aargh... damn Alchemist, cursed capitalist, youâll go to hell, I curse you to hell!"
