She poured a glass of water, sat down quietly next to Lu Dabao, and handed it to her.

When Wu Youli saw Sheng Ning come in, she was so excited that she wanted to stand up but struggled to contain herself. They were all very sad, and as the person involved, Sheng Ning must have been more deeply affected.

She shouldn’t add to Sheng Ning’s trouble.

Lu Dabao then realized that it was actually Sheng Ning who had poured her water and, with tears of excitement, hugged her, babbling on about lots of things.

How she was still upset! How she was scared to death! How the steamed buns weren’t tasty at all! How next time she could maybe get pastries instead…

Listening to her made Sheng Ning dizzy, and it took a long time to console her.

It was also the first time Sheng Ning learned that Dabao actually had this side to her.

“Why are you all in the canteen? Aren’t we training today?”

“Training was halted by the Inspection Department, and Teacher Qiu Bai has taken leave,” Lu Dabao recounted the events in detail.
