"Are you determined to cause trouble?" Su Huaiâan frowned.
"Hehehe..." She giggled foolishly, refusing to admit, "No way, Hai Lan used to be my friend after all. Of course, I should go see her and show some concern and comfort."
Su Huaiâan twitched the corner of his mouth, neither agreeing nor disagreeing. He turned around and pulled Chen Huaying out, then closed the door behind him.
"Iâm leaving now." He said, not waiting for Chen Huaying to react, and turned around to go downstairs.
"Strange, why didnât he scold me or stop me?" Chen Huaying stood in the corridor watching his handsome and upright figure gradually walk away, puzzled and scrunching her nose.
Whenever she tried to stir up trouble before, Su Huaiâan would always stop her like a nagging mom. Unable to persuade her, he would resort to scheming like a sly fox.
Is he being unusually generous today? Never mind, sheâll contact some people first. If she doesnât confront Hai Lan today, Hai Lan wonât know what sheâs capable of.

Over at the General Union Courtyard, the assistant hung up the phone, and Mr. Su asked, "Who called?"
"Old leader, it was Huaiâan calling to understand the situation."
"How did that kid find out while still at school?"
"Probably got the info from the school leadership."
Xu Xianxiong and Zhao Lanzi sat anxiously across from Mr. Su. Every time a call came in, they would both look over simultaneously without any prior agreement.
Since the incident happened, there have been no less than ten calls back and forth.
Zhao Lanzi looked at Mr. Su, secretly worried, understanding the vague meanings in the recent call, though she roughly got the gist of it.
Is this what the books describe as a power play?
Zhao Lanzi felt a bit heartbroken for her son, who, without power or influence, had made it to this point purely on his abilities. It must not have been easy, right?
Mr. Suâs eyes were sharp, instantly understanding who among the couple was truly a heavyweight. Noticing Zhao Lanziâs worried expression, he coughed lightly and explained, "Xiao Zhao, donât worry. Qigang is genuinely talented. The rescue world needs him, and many things arenât as complicated as you might think; theyâre actually quite simple."
"Then... whatâs with all the fuss today?" Zhao Lanzi hesitated to speak too bluntly, but her point was clear enough.
The fuss today wasnât something easily explainable.
"Today, well, it actually has nothing to do with the rescue world," Mr. Su said. "Itâs mainly a little squabble among a few of our relatives. Itâs quite normal for the younger generation to not see eye to eye. Even in rural areas, isnât it common for neighbors to have a fight now and then?"
Xu Xianxiong was half-convinced, "Is it really like that?"
"Exactly. The reason itâs hard for you to accept is because the involved individuals carry significant weight, hence the grand appearance now. But essentially, itâs just bickering, not even close to fighting."
One must admit, Mr. Suâs ability to lie with a straight face was adeptly refined.
The assistant turned away, avoiding looking or listening.
"Ningning just called earlier. Anâan is fine; itâs all a misunderstanding. Have your dinner before you go."
"Itâs good theyâre fine. Awfully relieved it was just a scare."
"Old man, we should still visit the hospital! Weâd only disturb your rest here," Zhao Lanzi stood up again, wanting to leave. In truth, she was anxious to go at the time, but Mr. Su refused to let them go.
They were well aware that if anything happened, they wouldnât be much help and might even cause more trouble, so they stayed here waiting for news.
Mr. Su hurriedly stopped them.
"Really, thereâs no need. Weâre also worried about Ningning and the others. Since theyâve returned to the hospital, thereâs no point in us staying any longer. If itâs inconvenient for you here, weâll head back ourselves."
