"Itâs over. I told you not to write it, but now somethingâs finally happened." Xu Mo, legs weak, still remembers he needs to find Meng Ping, "Quickly, go notify the Boss."
"Chief Editor, we can go in, but no one is allowed out."
"Itâs over!"
Outside, Xu Qigang gets out of the car, just in time to see Hai Shen smoking, looking bored. They exchange glances, and Hai Shen hands a cigarette over.
"Iâm quitting now." Xu Qigang doesnât take it, hands on hips, looking up at One Weekly, "Notify everyone, we move in half an hour."
"Yes!"
Xu Qigang came unlike Hai Shen, he brought people with him, along with machine guns and mortars, and quite a few people too.
Hai Shen, frightened, throws the cigarette on the ground and stamps it out, anxiously saying, "Are you really going to do it?"
"What else? Did you think we came here just to pretend?" Xu Qigang retorted, "My people are very busy, they donât have time to waste."
He then loudly ordered, "Prepare in advance, when the time comes, charge."
"Yes!"
"Yes!"
Though he only brought a small team, their loud shouts resonated straight to the sky. The area within a mile automatically cleared upon his appearance.
Zhao Changqi got the notice and stopped halfway.
Their Captain led the team personally; he wouldnât head toward certain death looking for trouble. Furthermore, Meng Ping needs to be taught a lesson, or Tiandu will be in chaos because of him.
"Arenât we just pretending to do it?" Shen Hai felt led astray by leadership, not wanting to be criticized across the district in broad daylight.
"Who told you weâre just pretending?" Xu Qigang turned to her and said, "Meng Ping deserves a good lesson." He had planned to come himself to teach a lesson and have him change the report.
Now the opportunity presents itself, might as well use it.
"Damn, your Rescue Association is full of madmen." Hai Shen couldnât help but curse.
"Captain, should we retreat?" asked a team leader from the Research Institute.
"Retreat my ass. Weâre here now, retreating would disgrace the Research Institute." Hai Shen wanted to hit someone, caught in a no-choice situation where they had to proceed, already past the point of return.
Those damn lunatics in the Rescue Association, he must make sure the Dean stays clear of Shen Feihu in the future.
Otherwise, if not dead, weâd be doomed.
Meanwhile, Meng Ping was eating at a nearby roast duck restaurant, hosting a client from the South. Halfway through the meal, a little fat man rushed in, flustered, "Boss, somethingâs wrong! Our magazine office is surrounded."
The Southern client, mid-dish, dropped everything on the table at the news. "Whatâs happening?" Wasnât this the heart of the country? Howâs this happening in broad daylight?
"Whoâs leading it?" Meng Ping calmly asked, having mentally prepared when Xu Mo was tasked to write.
"Itâs Hai Shen."
"Hai Shen, huh? No problem, he wonât actually do anything. The Research Institute isnât like the Rescue Association, donât worry, letâs continue eating." Meng Ping reassured them, telling everyone not to worry.
The Southern client was full of admiration, downright worshiping him.
No wonder Second Young Masterâs business was so grand; such courage is something others lack.
Just as the little fat man sat down tremblingly, someone else rushed in.
