I couldnât help slightly knitting my brows when I heard these words.
I just looked at her with this look on my face, but I didnât say anything.
It wasnât that there werenât words on my mind, it was just that I was sorting out my feelings before actually saying these words.
After all, what I said now was important.
I couldnât be rash with my words.
After sorting out my thoughts, I just simply asked, "Why? Is it really that important to you?"
Aisha didnât answer at first as she just looked at me, but I could tell that her eyes werenât as calm as the look on her face. It seemed that this question had hit a sort of nerve for her.
But in the end, she just said with a simple nod, "Yes, itâs that important."
Once again, there was another silence that followed as I really didnât know what to say.
During all of this, the pope of the Solista Religion acted like he didnât see anything as he continued with what he had to say.
The problem was that as he continued saying this, I knew that I was running out of time.
It wasnât as if I had accepted this matter yet, so I couldnât just let him finish.
That was why I looked at Aisha once more to say, "But youâre Moonâs mother. You should already know that doing something like this is wrong."
"Is it?" Aisha shook her head with a faint smile that made me knit my brows again.
When she saw me knit my brows like this, she said, "This kind of thing has happened many times in the past. There are people that take in mothers and daughters all the time as wives and concubines. It isnât as if this is something thatâs strange for this continent, yet you act like this is something thatâs wrong. I donât understand how you can think this way."
A bitter smile appeared on my face when I heard this.
I knew what she was talking about, but I just couldnât think the same.
After all, this world was a h-game in the first place that had a high degree of freedom. To accomplish that, there were all kinds of kinks that were considered normal even if they werenât considered normal in my past life.
Since this world was based on that h-game, those settings had carried over.
Many things that I would have considered wrong were actually accepted here.
Such as polygamy...which was why I was able to get all those wives in the first place.
But one of the other things that was accepted here was marrying mother and daughters since oyakodon was a popular thing in my past life.
It wasnât completely accepted as some people still had some problems with it, but it was definitely not as persecuted as in my past life.
Seeing that I just revealed this bitter smile without saying anything, Aisha said, "I already told you that Iâm fine with it and youâre still so worried. But the fact that you act this way is why I think that youâre different from the others. I know that you care about my daughter and for me, which is why Iâm going this far. I know that youâll treat us well."
The words that she said were like nails that stabbed into my heart.
After all, there was nothing more convincing than sincere words like this.
From the tone of her voice, I could tell that these were words that came from the bottom of her heart.
That was why I couldnât help being moved by her which caused my perception to change.
There was a part of me that was slowly starting to wonder if all of this was alright.
It came from the fact that I did have some feelings for her.
It wasnât just the feelings that I had because I knew her character from the game.
I had to admit that she was one of my favourite characters in the game, so she had always left a deep impression on me.
The other thing was the feelings that I had after getting to know her in this world.
There were many things that I had learned about Aisha that I had never known about the character in the game. That made me feel even closer to her to the point where the line started to blur between game character and real person.
At this point, it was a lie to say that I didnât feel anything at all...
Taking a deep breath, I asked one last time, "But do you think that this will be a mistake? You should know what doing something like this would mean."
Aisha looked right at me and said without any hesitation, "Iâve never been more sure of this in my life. Everything else Iâve done because I was forced into it by one thing or another, but now that Iâm truly free...This is the one thing that Iâve decided on for myself and I will stick to this decision until the very end."
Seeing those clear eyes look right at me, there really wasnât anything else that I could say.
After all, it really was hard for me to turn her down when she was being this sincere.
I slowly turned away to look at the pope of the Solista Religion who at this point had actually come to a stop.
He had finished with his speech and seemed to be looking at me as if he was waiting for my permission to continue.
Seeing him look at me like this, I hesitated for a moment before I gave a nod in response.
As soon as Aisha saw this, her eyes filled with joy.
Ariel and Isra also moved forward when they saw this as they knew that everything was already settled.
The only one that was still feeling a bit bitter about all of this was me.
After all, it felt like I had been tricked into it.
