Chapter 1207: Actual Position?

Chapter 1207: Chapter 1207: Actual Position?

He immediately realized what this meant—if someone who knew him leaked the information, everything he had done before would be in vain.

Yan Xinghe spoke calmly, “Do you think I’m foolish? Upon seeing the video footage, I immediately requested the command to lock down all related evidence and news, and ordered anyone who had seen it to keep silent. However, the video footage wasn’t very clear and since you were in women’s clothing, not many could recognize you. We only recognized you because of Xiuxiu. So I’m asking you, were you disguised as a woman, or are you actually a woman disguised as a man?”

Lan Xuanyu twitched the corner of his mouth and said, “I was disguised as a woman. I infiltrated the enemy’s ranks with Xiuxiu. As you know our Martial Souls, both contain dragon bloodline. We disguised ourselves as higher-ranking members of the Dragon Clan to infiltrate. It seems very successful so far. Here’s what happened…”

He had already reported the infiltration upon his return last time, but this infiltration was obviously much deeper. He truly integrated into their ranks.

After listening to Lan Xuanyu’s narration, Yan Xinghe couldn’t help but praise, “You are truly talented! You had said last time that you and Xiuxiu would penetrate further. But I didn’t expect you to infiltrate so thoroughly. Disguising as a man, and such a convincing one that even we couldn’t tell. You won.”

Lan Xuanyu twitched the corner of his mouth again, “Why do I not feel like you’re praising me?”

Yan Xinghe chuckled, “Let’s not waste words. What good things did you bring back? Take them all out. I’ll help you report your achievements. I’ll get a share of the glory too.”

At this moment, the car had arrived. The two hadn’t got out of the car for their secret discussion, and only then did Yan Xinghe open the door and lead Lan Xuanyu into his office.

When Lan Xuanyu took out a large amount of vital information, almost filling the entire office desk, Yan Xinghe was completely astounded.

As Lan Xuanyu took out and sorted the information, he said, “Hmm, this side contains some information and roster regarding Dragon Knights. This side pertains to God Rank level dragons. This part is about the major cities. Oh, and these are from other planets in the Dragon Horse Star System. I don’t know why, but there’s rather little information about Sky Horse Star. We might have to visit Sky Horse Star the next time we continue to infiltrate. However, it probably won’t be possible in the short term. With this information, the Douluo Federation’s understanding of the Dragon Horse Star System should be substantially enriched. Hey, captain, why are you looking at me like that?”

Yan Xinghe pressed his forehead, “Xuanyu, the information you brought back is too comprehensive. Are you aiming to catch up with my military rank?”

Lan Xuanyu chuckled, “No, no. I’ve only been promoted to Rear Admiral recently. I have achieved considerable military merit, but I guess it’s not enough to be promoted to Vice Admiral yet. Of course, if the military department is willing to promote me, I wouldn’t have any objections!”

Yan Xinghe gave a wry smile and said, “It’s hard to say. The high command has definitely reviewed that video footage. Although we can’t feel the actual battlefield conditions, have you reached the level of a Titled Douluo now?”

Judging solely by video footage, it is inherently impossible to discern the strength of the opposing sides. All that can be seen is the process of the battle and Lan Xuanyu and his expedition were unable to release their Soul Rings.

However, a discerning person could roughly estimate the range of their overall strength.

The Douluo Federation didn’t know one thing—the Ascending Dragon Platform itself was extremely sturdy, which is why it wasn’t overly damaged during their battle. Otherwise, they would have been able to evaluate the specifics of this battle more clearly.

Lan Xuanyu shrugged his shoulders and said, “I guess so.”

“You became a Titled Douluo at such a young age?” Yan Xinghe exclaimed in disbelief.

“Cough cough, ambition doesn’t depend on age,” Lan Xuanyu chuckled. He naturally wouldn’t say it was because the resources gained from cultivating on Sky Dragon Planet were overly abundant. It might be better not to let the federation know about this yet. After all, the federation has always been quite wary of Shrek Academy and the Tang Sect.

Taking a deep breath, Yan Xinghe asked, “Is there anything else?”

Lan Xuanyu replied, “The rest are some rare mineral resources which won’t fit here. We should find a warehouse for them. I’ll leave them in your hands. As for the specific merits, the military can handle that. However, I have a favor to ask. I plan to take my friends back to Shrek Academy for a visit. Considering our time out and the federation’s calendar, it’s been about half a year. Although we haven’t been in the military for a year yet, more than half has passed. I plan to keep operating undercover with my friends, which means our military service this year will likely extend. So, I’d like to take this opportunity to return to Shrek Academy with everyone to receive some guidance and cultivation, then come back. Could you help me apply for this?”

Yan Xinghe nodded and said, “There shouldn’t be a problem with that. Your undercover role has now become very important. The federation has discussed this with your academy. Currently, other students can choose whether to return to the academy for cultivation, but you and Xiuxiu definitely need to stay longer. Your academy has agreed to that. You are now a level 8 Sky Fighter, and with your status, no one can restrict your freedom; you can go wherever you want. As for your classmates, it shouldn’t be a problem either. I will discuss it with the Commander shortly.”

“That would be great, thank you. How has our fleet been lately? Nothing’s wrong, I hope?” asked Lan Xuanyu.

Yan Xinghe smiled, “What could go wrong? After gaining so many battle merits recently, any developments are good ones. The Eighth Fleet will soon be commissioned, and many people here are likely to be transferred over, mostly for promotions.”

“What about you? Will you be promoted?” Lan Xuanyu curiously asked.

Yan Xinghe shook his head, “I won’t move. I’ll continue to be your contact. As for your military rank and the Sky Fighter level, the chances of a promotion aren’t high since you’re already at a high level. You’ll definitely accumulate merits, but I think you should aim for something more tangible.”

“Oh? What tangible things?” Lan Xuanyu asked curiously.

“A substantive position. If you want to develop a career in the military in the future, having a substantive position is crucial. I recommend you take a substantive position within the fleet. With the Seventh Fleet transferring a large batch of officers to the Eighth Fleet, many positions will open up. Adding a substantive role for you now would be truly beneficial. After accumulating more merits, it would be much easier to be promoted to Major General.”

Lan Xuanyu blinked, “What if I don’t plan on developing a career in the military?”

“What do you want to do then?” Yan Xinghe asked.

Lan Xuanyu replied, “I haven’t thought that much. I don’t have grand plans for the future. But since you say it’s beneficial, please apply for one for me. With my brigadier general rank, could I command a battleship?” As he mentioned being a captain, his eyes suddenly lit up.

“Thinking too highly, are we? Who gets to be a principal right from the start? Commanding a warship is serious business. However, given your military rank, taking a deputy position is feasible. I’ll apply for you to possibly be my deputy or at least a chief of staff, or maybe a deputy captain. With that experience, you’ll rightfully earn the position of a captain in the future.”

“Okay, I’ll follow your advice.” In this regard, Lan Xuanyu didn’t have many considerations. Although commanding a warship was his childhood dream, currently, his main priority was to achieve God Rank as soon as possible and fully evolve his bloodline. That was the foundation of everything. Moreover, he had more ambitious plans on Sky Dragon Planet, which would take a long time to carry out. Therefore, his chances of taking a true military position were not high.
