"Itās best to hurry this up. Iāve been here too long already, and who knows what might happen if I stay."
Old Wu, casually slipping the terminal into his pocket, said, "Donāt be such a jinx."
"Iām not being a jinx, just analyzing; the factory director hinted someone might be after you just a couple of days ago."
Old Wu shrugged his shoulders and pulled back the girl he had just pushed away.
"Alright, alright, Iāll let you know when I have news."
"Alright."
Chen Ming didnāt further interrupt Old Wuās revelry.
Old Wuās demeanor revealed that despite his love for alcohol and women, he never muddled serious business.
Chen Ming turned around preparing to leave.
Just as he turned, a sudden sharp sting of danger struck his forehead.
Chen Ming reacted swiftly, instantly shifting into a suit of Combat Power Armor, the streamlined and solid armor enclosing him completely.
This was something Chen Ming had casually mentioned in a previous chat with Bai Quan.
Recognizing Chen Mingās interest, Bai Quan had kindly sent Chen Ming the blueprint for a model named Flying Locust Combat Power Armor, along with the anti-electromagnetic pulse technology prior.
So now Chen Ming was able to manufacture it instantly.
Just as Chen Ming finished creating the armor, a gunshot rang out in the bar.
Immediately followed by screams, throwing the surroundings into chaos.
The spot protected by Chen Mingās armor on his forehead sparked at the very moment the gunshot rang.
Someone had fired a shot aimed at Chen Mingās head.
But it had no effect, clearly.
And the shooter, An Ren, had already been locked onto by Chen Ming.
But he took no action, as Old Wu stood directly behind him, unprotected.
Chen Ming stepped back a bit, reaching out to grab Old Wuās arm who had just ducked behind the sofa.
At the moment, Old Wu was clutching his head with a gun, shouting to Chen Ming, "I knew it! Such a jinx, someone is indeed after you!"
While Old Wu was babbling, another set of Power Armor began forming on his body.
Chen Ming retorted offhandedly, "Stop talking nonsense, you knew it before. Keep yourself safe."
Leaving that remark, he moved his steps forward.
The shooter had leapt out the window before anyone could react, disappearing into the chaos outside.
However, Chen Ming had just accessed the surrounding surveillance network, locking onto the shooterās location.
Thereās no escape.
The Flying Locust Power Armor was originally designed with a jetpack built into it, maintaining high mobility.
Bai Quan had evidently considered Chen Mingās likely intention of using the armor for survival rather than direct confrontation when gifting this special model.
Chen Ming leapt out through the shattered window the assassin had crashed through, activating the jetpack, soaring skyward instantly.
But then he received a flight control signal from the Space Station, though he clearly ignored it at this moment.
He quickly notified the boss and director, then, using the surveillance lock, found the previously shooting assassin.
The assassin was seen desperately running toward the docks, seemingly intending to escape directly.
The Space Stationās dock is the hardest area to blockade on the whole station.
Blocking it even for a minute would incur significant financial loss for the Space Station.
So, itās quite reasonable for this assassin to plan to escape there.
But Chen Ming wouldnāt afford him the chance.
Near enough, Chen Ming controlled the jetpack to hover mid-air.
Streams of pure white metallic liquid flowed through his hands.
Molding into the weapon most suitable for now, the Electromagnetic Spear of the Mechanical Race.
In Chen Mingās armored hands, it did not appear bulky, but rather fitting.
Chen Ming raised the Electromagnetic Spear.
The armorās visual sensors and the spearās sight were engineered to be interconnected by him.
In almost an instant, they locked onto the desperately fleeing assassin.
