In the hour that Mika and Cecilia were away, Fauna found herself slipping into the restroom more times than she cared to count.
Each time she thought she had composed herself, a fresh wave of treacherous warmth would bloom between her thighs, soaking her anew.
No matter how carefully she wiped and cleaned, the more her mind circled the forbidden thoughtsâthe imagined cradle, the dark-haired baby, Ceciliaâs wordsâthe more her body betrayed her with humiliating slickness.
She sat on the closed lid in the stall, face buried in her hands, whispering frantic scoldings to herself, mortified that even a Battle Angel could be reduced to this.
The other doctors and nurses who noticed her frequent trips exchanged sympathetic glances.
"Poor Lady Fauna." One whispered outside the door. "Even someone as strong as her gets stomach troubles. Sheâs really just like the rest of us."
"It makes her even more relatable." Another agreed softly. "Seeing her human like that...I admire her more than ever."
Fauna, overhearing the quiet kindness, felt a strange mix of gratitude and shame.
If only they knew the real reason.
Eventually, she gathered herself enough to step outside and face the cluster of reporters still lingering at the hospital entrance. Cameras flashed the moment she appeared.
"Lady Fauna! Is it true the sisters have been saved?"
"What exactly was the treatment? There are rumors it was...unorthodox."
Fauna smiled serenely, voice calm and reassuring.
"The treatment was completely successful." She said clearly. "All six sisters are resting peacefully and fully recovered."
"We employed advanced physiotherapy techniquesânothing that violated their sacred oaths or faith in any way. The Goddessâs servants remain pure in heart and duty."
"They are simply exhausted from the ordeal and sleeping deeply now."
The reporters leaned forward eagerly, hoping for scandal, but Faunaâs gentle, unwavering gaze offered nothing salacious.
No one even considered that she might be concealing detailsâFauna was known across the world as an embodiment of truth and innocence.
If anything improper had occurred, she would have confessed it herself. And if the sisters had truly been compromised, word would have spread like wildfire later.
Disappointed murmurs rippled through the group.
"So...just physiotherapy?" one asked, deflated.
"Precisely." Fauna replied with a warm nod. "A medical procedure. Nothing more."
With reluctant thanks, the reporters dispersed, shoulders slumped.
Fauna exhaled quietly and returned to her seat in the waiting area, ready to resume her broodingâwhen she spotted Cecilia coming down the corridor.
But Cecilia looked utterly transformed.
Her steps were slow and unsteady, legs trembling faintly as though sheâd run a marathon. Yet her skin glowed with a fresh, radiant sheen, as if sheâd shed years along with her tension.
Her usually pristine outfit was hopelessly wrinkledâskirt twisted, sweater askew, collar askew in a way that suggested hasty removal and replacement.
Her neatly bundled hair hung loose and slightly damp, strands clinging to her flushed cheeks and neck.
And when Cecilia noticed Fauna watching, she startled, eyes widening in panic before she forced a polite smile.
"L-Lady Fauna." She greeted, voice a little too high.
Fauna was about to greet her back when her gaze drifted downward and she noticed the absence of Ceciliaâs stockingsâher long legs completely bare beneath the rumpled skirt.
"Ohâyour stockings." Fauna said gently, instinctively maternal. "Did they tear? I always carry spares in my bag, Anya goes through them so quickly. I can lend you a pair."
Cecilia froze, then blurted without thinking.
"Oh, itâs not like that, Lady Fauna! Mika was just too aggressive. He got hasty and ended up tearing them right offâ"
She cut herself off mid-sentence, horror dawning as she realized exactly who she was speaking to.
"S-Sorry! Sorry! Never mind!" Her hands flew up. "Please forget I said anything! IâI just tore them somewhere, thatâs all! It wasnâtâI meanâexcuse me!"
Cecilia spun around and fled down the hall, mortified beyond words.
She had just casually recounted details of passionate, clothes-ripping sex to the mother of the man who had left his seed still warm and leaking inside her.
Meanwhile, Fauna stood rooted in place, cheeks burning as the implication sank in.
But Moments later, Mika appeared from the same direction looking the complete opposite of Cecilia.
He was practically bouncing with energy, eyes bright, a wide, satisfied smile on his face. His clothes were neat, hair only slightly tousled in a charming way. He radiated pure happiness.
And the instant he spotted Fauna, his grin widened further.
"Fauna!" He called joyfully, striding over.
Before she could react, he reached out like an excited child, grabbed her by the waist and shoulders, and effortlessly lifted her up.
In one motion he perched her against his hip, holding her securely with a single strong arm as if she weighed nothing.
"Mikaâ!"
"Fauna, oh Fauna." He laughed, spinning her once for good measure. "I really hope youâre proud of me! Not only did I save your hospital onceâI did it twice today! Told you Iâm the best son you could ever ask for."
Fauna, caught completely off guard, clung to his shoulders instinctively, heart racing at the sudden closeness.
"Y-You were wonderful." She managed, voice soft and flustered. "Truly. Iâm so proud."
Mika beamed. "Good! But stillâI demand compensation. Iâm not some free laborer who works for nothing."
Fauna laughed lightly, trying to regain composure.
"Of course. Iâll have my assistant send a cheque immediatelyâ"
"Who said anything about money?"
Mika interrupted, eyes sparkling mischievously.
"I want a kiss instead."
Faunaâs breath caught. Heat flooded her face.
"A...A kiss?"
He nodded cheerfully.
"Yep! Youâre the one said compensation would come in hugs and kisses and affection, remember? Back then I wasnât too fond of it, but now?"
He shrugged, eyes sparkling.
"Iâm in a really good mood. And honestly, Cecilia was super passionate out there. Even after everything, she kept kissing my face over and over desperately, calling me cute the whole time."
"So now Iâm in full kiss-receiving mode and itâs your turn."
He tilted his head, presenting his cheek expectantly.
"Come on, Fauna. Right here on the cheek. Quick one."
Faunaâs entire body went warm.
The same cheek she had kissed a thousand times when he was small now felt impossibly differentâclose, masculine, radiating vitality.
Her pulse raced; hesitation flooded her.
"M-Mika...wouldnât a cheque be better? I can pay a lot of money. I donât want to force you into anythingâ"
"Force me?" He laughed brightly. "Not at all! I want one. Please?"
Seeing the genuine delight in his eyes, Fauna finally relented.
Slowly, shyly, she leaned in and pressed a soft, lingering kiss to his cheek.
Kiss!
The moment her lips touched his skin, Mikaâs smile widened impossibly further.
"Nothing beats a kiss from you, Fauna." He murmured happily.
And hearing his affectionate voice, a wave of overwhelming emotion crashed over Faunaâlove, embarrassment, longing, guilt, joyâall tangled together.
Her knees felt weak; she sagged slightly in his arm, grateful he was still holding her up.
The irony was not lost on her: the very person stirring these confusing, forbidden feelings was also the one who made her feel safest in the entire world.
She buried her face briefly against his shoulder, breathing him in, wondering how much longer she could bear the storm inside her before it broke.
But just as she felt herself melting into the comfort of his embrace, ready to drift away, a nurse hurried overâeyes widening at the sight of Fauna being carried like a child.
"L-Lady Fauna!"
The nurse stammered but then returned to being professional as she went on to deliver the message.
"The special private examination room you requested is fully prepared. The patient can be brought in whenever youâre ready. Dr. Cecilia and the others are also waiting."
Mikaâs brows furrowed as he looked down at Fauna.
"Wait a second." He said, tilting his head. "Youâre personally overseeing a private patient exam? With Cecilia and the whole team?"
"Who exactly is this patient that needs the top-floor isolation room and all of you?"
Fauna blinked, suddenly confused herself. She turned to the nurse.
"Yes...who is the patient, exactly? What name is on the register?"
The nurse hesitated, glancing between them as if unsure why the question was even being asked.
"Um...the name on the register is Master Mika, my lady."
Both Fauna and Mika froze.
She then pointed at Mika and said, "I believe that would be your son youâre holding right now, Lady Fauna. Heâs the patient scheduled for the room."
A beat of silence before Faunaâs face flushed as realization crashed over her.
"Oh...oh right. I totally forgot. I prepared the room for you, Mika for all your tests. But in all the chaos today, I completely forgot."
Mika chuckled, shaking his head.
"Yeah, same here. Every time I come to this hospital I get dragged into some emergency. I totally spaced on the check-up too."
He turned to the nurse with a warm, grateful smile.
"Thank you for reminding us."
The nurseâs cheeks pinked; she bowed quickly and hurried off, clearly delighted by the attention from such a handsome young man.
Mika then shifted his gaze back to Fauna.
"Well, letâs get these tests over with. Yelena keeps calling and texting non-stop. If we donât finish today, sheâll be furious and I donât want to deal with that."
Fauna nodded, still a little flustered. "Of course."
Together they made their way to the top most floorâan area completely isolated from the rest of the hospital.
The private examination suite Fauna had commissioned was reserved exclusively for Mika and any procedures related to his unique physiology.
When they reached the door, Mika finally set Fauna down. She felt an odd, reluctant pang as her feet touched the floor again.
"Iâll go change into the usual gear." He said casually. "Be right back."
Fauna nodded and stepped inside.
The room was strikingly different from the standard hospital wardsâsleek, modern, almost futuristic.
In the center sat a large, adjustable hospital bed.
Behind it loomed an enormous, intricate apparatus that resembled a CT scanner but was far more complex, ringed with glowing panels and delicate sensor arrays.
Smaller, equally unusual machines surrounded the bed, their purposes mysterious to anyone unfamiliar with them.
Cecilia and her colleagues were already present, reviewing charts and checking out the equipment.
And the moment Fauna entered, Cecilia hurried over to her surprise, worry etched across her still-flushed face.
"Lady Fauna." She began urgently. "Iâm so sorry to ask this, but...is Mika completely all right?"
"When I saw his name on the schedule, I panicked. I thought something serious had happenedâthat he was ill or injured. These tests...theyâre not because somethingâs wrong with him, are they?"
Fauna giggled at how flustered she got over Mika, before waving a reassuring hand.
"Oh, darling, no, nothing like that at all. Mika simply has a very...unusual constitution."
"Itâs not dangerous, just unique and because of that form time to time I do check-ups on just to study his body and condition."
"And honestly, I donât even think todayâs tests are strictly necessary." She shrugged. "Itâs more precautionary than anything. Heâs perfectly healthy."
Relief washed over Ceciliaâs features. "Thank goodness. For a moment I thought something awful had happened to him."
The other doctors nearby giggled lightly at her obvious concern.
Cecilia rolled her eyes, then glanced around the room in awe and curiousity.
"Lady Fauna...is it just me, or are these machines nothing like anything else in the hospital? Iâve worked with nearly every scanner and diagnostic tool we have, but Iâve never seen anything like these. They look...strange."
The others nodded in agreement.
"Seriously." One added. "Iâve been here for years and Iâve never even heard of half these devices."
"Theyâre incredible." Another murmured. "But what are they?"
"Hmph! Itâs only natural you wouldnât recognize them."
Fauna smiled with a hint of pride and amusement.
"After all, I designed and built every single one myselfâspecifically for Mika."
The room went quiet for a beat.
"All of them?" Cecilia asked, eyes wide. "Just...for him?"
"Yep." Fauna nodded, taking in their awe like it fueled her. "As I mentioned, Mikaâs physiology is extraordinarily unique. Standard hospital scanners and monitors canât handle the readingsâthey either give wildly inaccurate results or, in some cases, overload and burn out completely."
"These custom machines are the only ones capable of mapping his condition safely and somewhat accurately."
"And honestly, even they canât capture the full scope of his capabilities, but theyâre the best we have."
The doctors exchanged stunned glances, imaginations running wild at the idea of a constitution so powerful it could destroy medical equipment just by being connected.
