Chapter 62: Craziness and Shock

"I am s—"

His voice was louder than hers as he hurriedly replied to her. He knew what she was about to say. It made him feel that his master was not fully crazy—definitely some sense in her—but she didn’t have to say sorry, as he was the one who pushed her to the limit, and her reaction was a bit unexpected. But the fact he did like it—still, he wasn’t going to mention that to her.

"I am feeling perfectly fine! You don’t have to—don’t you have to say anything. Just keep quiet and finish lunch. It’s hard for me to talk right now."

Seraphine, hearing him, smiled gleefully, as it seemed that he didn’t dislike what happened between them, but he was just embarrassed, right? She knew how he was.

"Leon, if you don’t mind, I can help you in anything. We are family, after all." This was the first time she had openly mentioned being a family to him. Her eyes had a deep swirl in them and a small smile on her face.

Leon had only looked at her for a moment, and now he could see the deep swirl in her eyes, which he felt if he looked in them long enough, he would be swallowed whole.

What shocked him wasn’t her eyes but the words that had left her mouth, which she uttered while glancing toward his crotch.

He shivered slightly in his seat.

’Master is crazy.’

’In what world does family help out in things like that?’

’She has finally lost it!’

He knew it now—no amount of words would change his mind after seeing the way she had acted today.

He slammed the fork down on the table. The fork dug into the table and then bent due to the force—the force with which he slammed it.

"What the hell are you even saying! You are crazy, Master! Family aren’t supposed to do things like that. Just keep quiet for now and eat the food. If you say something crazy like this again, I’m gonna walk out of the dining hall."

Seraphine wanted to answer him back, but she didn’t. He seemed to really be at his limit right now. His face was flushed red. She even noticed how he wasn’t looking at her, even for a moment now, not even glancing.

Just quietly eating while picking up a different fork.

It seemed she had to teach him the importance of family some other time. The way he didn’t deny they were already family was enough to make her heart feel warm.

But while the rest of the time was completely silent between them, she still couldn’t help but look at her adorable disciple while eating and tried to glance at his crotch too, to see if it was fine. Yet she wasn’t in luck, as her disciple’s seat was too far forward, right now. She couldn’t see anything.

Ten minutes had passed.

Both of them had finished their lunch.

Leon looked completely fine from the outside, and even the blush was completely gone—only a faint tint of red remained. But internally, his master’s words and what had happened previously swirled in his mind continuously, not giving him peace for a moment.

And the gorgeous beauty sitting across the table, looking at him with love on her face, didn’t make it any easier. He noticed her trying to glance at a certain part of him from time to time. It made his spine tingle a bit.

But he had understood an important thing about his master.

’The way Master regarded him as her family was quite different than how I had imagined.’

He didn’t mind how the relationship was going, but it weirded him out by the fact that he looked like a kid in front of her, so he couldn’t seem to take the step further right now. She was freaking 5 feet 11 inches (180 cm). He looked like a kid. He did know that in this world, sixteen is considered an adult.

The nobles would even arrange marriages between family members even at birth. The point is—she might see him as an adult. Or Master is just a pr—.

’No, it can’t be. Despite how cold she appears most of the time, she is very kind.’

He decided not to think about this right now and focus on what he was going to do.

"Master, are you okay now? Should I tell you about how I got strong so quickly?"

"Leon, Master has always been completely fine. Why are you asking me such a question?" A genuine look of confusion was on her face.

Seeing the look on her face, there was only one thought in his mind.

’Yep, Master, you’re definitely not okay.’

"Nothing. Should I continue?"

She hummed in response and nodded eagerly to his words like an excited child.

Leon couldn’t help but find her quite adorable right now. Sometimes she acted so cute and lovely, and sometimes completely crazy. He didn’t know how to define her. All he could say was his master was different—but he still loved her.

With a small smile on his face, instead of telling her verbally, from his inventory, he summoned the uncommon-ranked sword he had gotten after defeating the boss wolf monster.

Seraphine was shocked to see a sword suddenly appear in his hand out of nowhere. She couldn’t guess how he did it, and there was only one thing that came to her mind. The sword looked like a ranked weapon, too. She thought he might have gotten it inside the dungeon.

Now she understood how he had not a single monster mana core with him, even though she had told him especially not to miss a single one because of how rare they were.

She did know that he was the one who killed the boss, after hearing the words of the masked girl from a distance. Previously, she felt it was a pity that he had missed the core of the boss, too. But for her, coming out alive was already enough, so she didn’t mention those things to him.

’Had he leveled up? Is that why he had become so strong so fast?’

Still, she found it weird to feel a threat to that degree—even with that—as an increase in physical strength and having higher stats didn’t explain this massive improvement in him.
