Roman could feel it, it was like a light thread tugging at his Mana core, and soon he felt more than one thread. He still couldnāt feel the Mana coursing through the thread, but it was something.
Roman took a deep breath, covering the rock with his hands as he infused Mana into the rock, and for the first time, he felt a thread leading all the way to his hands. He could feel something in the thread, and immediately knew he got it.
Roman opened his eyes with a smile on his face. He finally felt his own Mana for the first time; it truly wasnāt something hard; he just needed to focus.
"Finally, I just have to keep practicing" Roman muttered.
"Mana control in the academy," a voice spoke, and Roman almost jumped as the voice came from behind him.
He stood up immediately but of course he was in a lotus position and fell down on his butt as he turned around.
The person behind him was shrouded in darkness. It was dark, but he should be able to see the person as his eyes had adjusted, and the moon was out, but he still couldnāt tell till the darkness eventually vanished from the person behind him.
"Miss Victoria" Roman spoke as he saw her, he recognized her face since it was very easy to.
Her black hair covered a part of her face, and the clothes she wore looked like Royal attire. Evelyn had already introduced her back when Roman was in the palace.
"Ohh...you know, I thought you wanted to do this just because you can, I didnāt realize you were serious about becoming a mage" She replied.
"Iām serious" Roman replied.
"But youāre just learning Mana control, no matter how fast you learn, youāll never catch up with your female counterparts, and you have a tournament in 5 weeks, youāre going to lose" Victoria spoke as she sat on the ground.
Roman was quite surprised, first, what was she doing here? She couldnāt have known Roman was out here, so she was probably passing or had a private building somewhere in the academy.
Secondly, she was speaking to him so casually, which was the worst of all; she was the head of the academy.
"I remember you were so confident in the Royal palace, where did all that confidence go, and now youāre here learning Mana control"
Roman couldnāt speak, truly, he thought the academy would be easy, but with all his potential, it wasnāt going to be easy. If given a year or two, he could be the strongest mage in the kingdom, but in a month, there was no way he would catch up.
"Even though I wouldnāt win, Iām still going to try my best" Roman replied.
"Iām sure you would, but you should be happy because Iām a little bit interested in you now, and now in the first way I was" Victoria spoke.
"Interested in me, what was the first way?" Roman asked.
"Mating with you was the top of my list, but now Iām a little bit intrigued. If you are really serious about learning magic, I could train you before the tournament," Victoria said.
Roman jaws dropped, he couldnāt believe she was that open with him, she wanted to mate with him, to Roman this was the best opportunity, seating in front of him was one of two strongest mage in the entire kingdom, his stats increase would be wild, but she also wanted to train him which was surprising.
"You want to train me?" Roman asked again.
"Yes, I have an ability that lets me peer into the abyss of anyone Iām stronger than by a large margin, but when I did in the academy I couldnāt see anything just like it does for an opponent at my level or close to level, so Iām intrigued"
āOhh, thatās just the system, no one can see my abilities, if thatās the case then Iāll definitely take her offer...but when did she try that on me, just now?ā
"When did you try it? Is it back at the Royal Palace?" Roman asked as he remembered he felt something like an eye staring into his soul.
"You felt it?" Victoria asked.
"Yes, when I walked in, it felt like an eye was staring inside me," Roman replied, and a smile formed on Victoriaās face.
"Iām even more intrigued"
"I accept, then," Roman said.
"Before you do, weāll have to talk about conditions. Iām not going to waste my time on you just because youāre intriguing," Victoria said.

āI hope sleeping with her is part of the conditions, Iām going to be training and increasing my statsā
"What are the conditions?" Roman asked.
"First, once we start training, you canāt quit... youāre going to be beaten every day of training till you get what Iām trying to teach, and weāll have a healer to heal you," Victoria spoke without a hint of expression on her face.
Roman couldnāt believe what he was hearing; he thought it was going to be a condition of sex, but it turned out she was actually serious about training him.
"Iām not going to get killed in the process right?" Roman asked.
"I can guarantee that"
"Alright," Roman said.
"I didnāt think you would accept, Iām getting more intrigued by the second, my training is hard and is extensive for exterminating demons, I donāt know if a male can get to my level but Iāll try my best, now for the second"
"Youāll tell no one youāre training with me, I donāt know if youāll be able to get enough training to win the tournament, but if you do then Iāll pick the two other S-ranks to join the training with you and then I can announce Iām training all three of you, and for the third, youāll have sex with me" Victoria said and looked at Roman.
She didnāt specify, but he wasnāt concerned by that; he was glad it was added as a condition, because with how serious the training would be, he couldnāt possibly hope to seduce her.
"I accept" Roman replied.
"Well then, weāll start tomorrow after your class, when youāre done eating, stand in the training ground away from everyone else, and Iāll pick you up," Victoria said.
"Okay," Roman replied. He was still out of sorts as all of this was sudden, but it was the best opportunity he was going to get, so he was going to take it.
Victoria stood up and closed the distance between her and Roman, bent down, and looked into his eyes, "It still amazes me," she muttered as she stood back up and began walking away.
Roman turned around only to find out she was gone. It was just a fraction of a second she wasnāt in his sight, and now she was gone, even though she shrouded herself in darkness, he could still see the darkness, but she was really gone.
āI canāt believe that just happened, and also her first thought of me was to mate with me, wait...does the other head of the academy think of me like that?ā A smile formed on Romanās face as he finally stood up.
He was sure this wasnāt just coincidental; if he wasnāt here, she would have gotten some other way to reach him.
Roman walked back to the dorm and arrived at his room, he was a little hungry but he didnāt bother to go to the dining hall and just went back to his room.
Ava was still naked and sound asleep as he opened the door, he dusted his body when he stood up from the sand so he just slumped onto his bed.
Since he already had sex with Ava, he didnāt need the sleeping naked anymore; he could if he wanted, because the dorm was unnaturally warm, but he just didnāt.
āAva said she was going to train me, Iām going to disappoint her and I canāt tell her the reason, Iām sure sheāll understand, and now I feel like I have a good shot at winning the tournamentā
Roman didnāt realize he was really tired as he fell asleep thinking about the tournament.

"What happened?" Evelyn asked as Victoria walked into the room.
"Why do you assume something happened?"
"I know you well enough to know something did, but I canāt think of something" Evelyn replied.
"I saw the male in the training ground, he was training"
"At this hour...is he really serious about winning? He should have realized he had no chance by now," Evelyn said.
"Well, he does have a chance now. Iām going to train him for the next 5 weeks. Iāve realized heās more intriguing than I thought. Weāll also have sex in the process." Victoria spoke as she sat down.
"What!! Why do you get to have sex with him and I donāt?"
"Thatās the only thing you got, Iāll be training him, so I think I deserve it, and besides, you can have sex anytime you want, why are you getting jealous?"
"So can you, you just choose not to, just know Iām going to interrupt one of your training or sex sessions" Evelyn replied.
