"Do you know where the girls are staying? Iād appreciate it if you could show me," Roman spoke, and the maid nodded almost immediately.
"Follow me," She muttered as she turned around, leading Roman to the room.
Roman followed behind, passing other maids who bowed their heads as Roman walked by. Even though the maids there had seen him many times, they still couldnāt get their eyes off Roman, staring at him till he was out of sight.
They arrived at the room, and the maid pointed to it and then walked away. Roman knocked on the door before pushing it open.
This particular room was much bigger than him, and it had ten beds in total. The room was built to accommodate ten people all at once.
At the end of the room, Roman saw Joanna sitting on one of the beds. She was curled up with her knees drawn to her chest, her face buried between them, and her back pressed against the wall.
She didnāt even look up as Roman walked in. He had no idea what he could do to cheer her up, and he was sure she was crying.
Roman walked towards the bed and sat down right in front of her.
"Hi," Roman spoke, and she looked up as she knew that wasnāt the voice of a female.
She looked up and saw Roman seated in front of her, she had no idea why he was here, but no one was inside the room, just the two of them.
āIs he here for me?ā Joanna muttered as she cleaned the tears off her face.
"Reina didnāt mean what she said, she was just angry that you called her a commoner. Iāll make sure she apologizes to you," Roman spoke, and she was shocked.
*Cough*
Joanna cleared her throat before speaking, "Thereās no need for that, Iām the one at fault and what she said isnāt a lie, Iāll never be an S-rank, but she can easily be adopted into a noble family, and if we faced each other, sheās going to win"
"That doesnāt mean anything. Among 200 students, you were one of nine students selected. That alone means youāre stronger than all the rest. You just have to continue training and not give up," Roman replied.
"I wasnāt planning to, my family wouldnāt let me, and even if they did, I wouldnāt give up" Joanna spoke as she brought her legs down.
āWell, Iām quite good at cheering someone up, my job here is done but do I leave, I can probably get her if I want, before that systemā

Roman wanted to look through his stats to see what he got from Faylen, and just like last time, it was vitality.
"We havenāt spoken before now, what made you want to talk to me?" Joanna asked.
"I didnāt see the battle, but Reina said you lost easily. I just wanted to cheer you up Itās not easy to fight in front of the Queen and the noblesā families. Iām wondering how Iāll do," Roman replied.
"Ohh thanks...Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure, go ahead"
"Who would you like to face?" Joanna asked.
Roman nodded his head as a smile formed on his face, "Before I answer your question, Iād like to ask you one first, if we faced each other, who do you think would win?"
"I havenāt seen you fight, but I think Iāll win, not because youāre a male, but because you havenāt been training as long as any of us. Reina is just lucky to be powerful, and being a summoner, she just needs powerful beasts to help her fight," Joanna spoke.
"Thatās true, but as an elemental mage I need even more time to develop...to answer your question, Iād like to face Aurelia," Roman mouthed with a smile on his face.
"The princess, youāve seen her fight, right? She had an elemental resistance enchantment in her armor; her enchantments are way too powerful for an A-rank because of her Royal blood, and you still want to face her?"
"Iāll face her either way as Iām sure sheāll make it to the finals, but Iād like to face her before the finals so I can eliminate her," Roman replied.
Joanna was impressed by Romanās confidence, but she still didnāt believe Roman could beat Aurelia in a match; she wasnāt even convinced Roman could beat her in a match.
Joanna leaned back against the wall, her eyes still a little red from crying but calmer now. She stared at Roman, trying to figure him out.
"You sound confident," she muttered, "But do you really think you can beat the princess? Sheās trained her whole life with the best teachers in the kingdom. I donāt think even Ava would win against her, and if she did it wouldnāt be easy"
Roman smiled lightly. "Confidence doesnāt mean Iāll win easily, it just means Iām not afraid of facing her but I do think Iāll win"
āWhy is he this confident, does he have a trump card or a powerful spell up his sleeve, come to think of it, I havenāt even seen him train, where does he trainā
"I think my job here is done, youāre feeling better... Iām pretty sure Iāll be fighting tomorrow, so I hope you can cheer me on" Roman spoke and Joanna chuckled with a smile on her face.
Roman stood up and walked towards the door but before he could open it, the door was opened from the outside and it was Reina.
