Chapter 83: Listing Remarks
The book is going on the shelves tonight!
The idea to start this book was actually quite impulsive.
Many friends advised me not to write it, saying that the niche is too small, the market limited, and itās relatively obscure, so the performance is probably uncertain.
When it comes to writing a book, whatās the most important thing in choosing a subject? Is it market acceptance? Is it within oneās ability to write?
These are important, but theyāre not the most important.
To me, whatās most important is, what am I really passionate about creating and expressing?
What do I want to write about? Space opera, interstellar themes, World War I/II style warfare, cannons and tanks, Mecha, special forces, trench warfare, human wave assaultsā¦
Then find a way to concretize these ideas. Total War + Stellaris + Hearts of Iron + Warhammer 40kā¦ Mixing all these together is something that really excites me.
So I started writing without listening to advice, and once I finished, I published it.
The start wasnāt smooth, the results werenāt great, to the point where my editor told me I could be featured on Sanjiang, I was actually surprised and thrilledāI thought it was a no-goā¦
Of course, overall, the performance still wasnāt considered good.
I was prepared for that.
To write what I want and then hope to find readers who can vibe with my thoughts, thatās my goal.
Thatās roughly the background of the creation of the book. Tonight it goes on the shelves, and Iām here to talk about the update plan.
For the long-term updates, I plan to write a fixed 4000 characters every day, which is about 2 chapters. Sometimes it may be combined into one chapter, and Iāll try to release it all by noon.
Some comrades have said thatās too little, but I canāt help it. Approaching middle age, my energy isnāt what it used to be, with a day job and family, itās hard to commit to more.
But Iāll strive to add more on top of the 2 chapters, hoping to often reach 3 updates, but I canāt guarantee that. I can only say that 2 chapters are guaranteed.
If any good things happen, like if the average subscriptions hit a round number, or if I get a large tip (10 chapters for a Leader!), or if my boss gets hit by a car when he goes out (just kidding)ā¦ On those occasions, Iāll try to add more on top of the 2 chapters!
Now, letās talk about the update plan for the day of the launch.
The two chapters for today were released at noon, free chapters;
After midnight tonight, Iāll directly release 5 chapters;
Then at 11 a.m. tomorrow, there will be 2 regular chapters;
That makes for 7 chapters on the day of the launch.
If the average subscription goes over 1000, Iāll add one more chapter! And another for every additional 1000! (Though I doubt itāll go any higher).
So thatās the plan, and I hope everyone can come and show their support! Your support will allow me to write this book for a long time to come, ensuring a steady output, and hopefully, some of the income can help supplement the family expenses!
