Chapter 438: Resolving the Crisis

The time has already reached evening, the night is about to fall.

Lin Fan rode his electric bike and arrived at a mall. Wei Qingxue had arranged to meet him there, planning to shop first and then have dinner.

As Lin Fan reached the mall, it suddenly started to rain. He quickly parked his bike and ran over to a nearby coffee shop for shelter.

Meanwhile, inside the coffee shop.

Chu Yufei, the eldest daughter of the Chu Family in Yun City, also hurriedly arrived.

Today, her mother, Madam Chu, had arranged to meet her here. Madam Chu was quite mysterious about the meeting, and Chu Yufei came over as soon as she finished work.

The meeting was originally scheduled for half an hour ago, and Madam Chu had already urged her several times, but she was delayed a bit by company matters.

Upon entering the shop, she saw Madam Chu waving at her.

Chu Yufei walked over and saw that beside Madam Chu sat a young man in his twenties, quite handsome, wearing branded clothes worth at least several thousand. He had good taste, though he was slightly short.

"Let me introduce, Luo Jinshan, Young Master Luo, just returned from studying in the United Kingdom, planning to inherit billions!" Madam Chu laughed, particularly excited by the last sentence.

Chu Yufei was stunned and instinctively shook hands with him, politely saying, "Hello."

Then she pulled Madam Chu aside and whispered, "Mom, what are you up to?"

Madam Chu said, "What else? It’s a blind date, of course. You’re not getting any younger, it’s time to get married. I think Young Master Luo is great; you should seize the opportunity."

Chu Yufei was speechless. She had no intention of getting married, and Madam Chu was taking matters into her own hands. Had she known it was a blind date, she would’ve made an excuse not to come.

Ever since Chu Yufei entered, Young Master Luo had been staring at her, unable to take his eyes off.

"Hello, Miss Chu... may I call you Princess Yu?" Luo Jinshan stood up, looking eager.

Chu Yufei wasn’t fond of the way he looked at her and replied indifferently, "Oh, you can call me whatever you like."

"Princess Yu, please sit." Luo Jinshan hurried over to help Chu Yufei with her chair.

"Thank you." Chu Yufei said politely and sat down.

After Chu Yufei sat, Luo Jinshan reached out and gently flicked her hair, smiling, "Princess Yu, your hair is so smooth, so fragrant."

Chu Yufei frowned, thinking Luo Jinshan appeared gentlemanly, but who knew he’d be so forward upon meeting?

Chu Yufei wasn’t planning to get involved with Luo Jinshan to begin with, and now she detested him even more.

If Madam Chu weren’t present, who knows what Luo Jinshan might do. Perhaps he was mindful of Madam Chu, as Luo Jinshan promptly returned to his seat.

Madam Chu was pleased to see this, thinking it was good that Young Master Luo liked Princess Yu; she had been worried Young Master Luo wouldn’t fancy her.

"Young Master Luo, my Princess Yu has never dated anyone, never touched a guy’s hand, never taken advantage of anyone, so you can relax." Madam Chu beamed.

Chu Yufei was embarrassed, her face turning red: "Mom, what are you saying!"

Luo Jinshan laughed, "That’s great. I know Princess Yu is waiting for her Prince Charming, and I’m confident that I am your true Prince Charming."

Luo Jinshan wore a confident smile, almost etched with the belief that he is Chu Yufei’s Prince Charming.

Chu Yufei was momentarily speechless.

Madam Chu, with a look of admiration, said, "Young Master Luo, I’m telling you, as I see it now, you and my Princess Yu truly make a perfect couple, a match made in heaven."

"Thank you for the compliment, Auntie. By the way, I’ve booked the best Western restaurant in town, Princess Yu, how about we go there for dinner later?" Luo Jinshan suggested, exchanging a look with Madam Chu.

Madam Chu understood and said smilingly, "Princess Yu, I have other matters to attend to, so I’ll leave now. You and Young Master Luo should have a good chat, okay?"

Saying this, Madam Chu stood up to leave.

Chu Yufei hurriedly stood up as well, saying, "Sorry, it’s getting late. I should head home too; Mom, I’ll leave with you."

Madam Chu was displeased, pulled Chu Yufei aside and said sternly, "Why are you being like this? Don’t you want to find a satisfactory husband? You’re not getting any younger, you shouldn’t stay in the Chu Family."

Chu Yufei replied, "Mom, he’s not the one."

Madam Chu said angrily, "What are you thinking? Young Master Luo has a great family background. What else aren’t you satisfied with?"

Luo Jinshan chuckled, "Princess Yu, that restaurant has hard-to-get seats, you wouldn’t want to decline, would you?"

Chu Yufei really didn’t want to have dinner with Luo Jinshan, but Madam Chu’s pressure left her a little troubled.

Madam Chu assertively said, "Stop talking so much, that’s settled. I have matters to attend to, I’ll leave first."

Madam Chu then left the coffee shop.

As she walked out the coffee shop door, she didn’t notice she brushed past Lin Fan.

Lin Fan, being in a hurry to escape the rain, didn’t pay attention to Madam Chu and just opened the door and walked inside.

Once inside, Lin Fan saw Chu Yufei with Luo Jinshan.

"Princess Yu, why don’t we leave now, take my car, it’s a limited edition supercar. Let me give you a treat." Luo Jinshan grinned, very confident.

Chu Yufei was unwilling, "I haven’t even received the coffee I ordered yet."

Luo Jinshan said, "Why bother with coffee? Later, I’ll treat you to some 82 Lafite."

"Princess Yu, what a coincidence." Lin Fan walked over, smiling.

He could tell Chu Yufei didn’t want to go with the man, so he decided to come over and help.

Chu Yufei was delighted upon seeing Lin Fan, "Lin..."

Unexpectedly, Lin Fan interrupted her, smiled and said, "Honey, is the coffee you bought for me ready? I’ve been waiting for a long time, so I came over to check."

Chu Yufei was stunned, what? Lin Fan just called her honey?

Luo Jinshan’s face changed, "Princess Yu, who is this?"

Lin Fan chuckled, "Hello, I’m Princess Yu’s boyfriend. I was just wondering, Princess Yu, who is he?"

Chu Yufei then realized Lin Fan was helping her out, pretending to be her boyfriend!

Chu Yufei didn’t know why, but her heart started racing, filled with an inexplicable joy.

"Um, he’s... his name is Luo Jinshan, he’s..." Chu Yufei was somewhat incoherent.

Luo Jinshan sized up Lin Fan, full of disdain, "Princess Yu, is he your boyfriend?"

With Lin Fan wearing such cheap clothes and him dressed in costly brands worth thousands, indeed, he had reason to look down on Lin Fan.

The contrast was too obvious; did Chu Yufei not feel embarrassed to have such a poor boyfriend, so unpresentable?
