After a while, he finally caught his breath and mumbled:
"Ah Cheng, can we stop playing such thrilling games? My heart is about to jump out of my chest."
Fang Cheng heard him and replied with a teasing smile:
"Do you want to be kidnapped again in the future?"
Ma Donghe was momentarily stunned, and as he came back to his senses, he was just about to express his gratitude to Fang Cheng.
Fang Chengâs ears twitched slightly, as if he had caught some subtle sound, and he suddenly raised his hand as a signal:
"Donât speak, follow me."
He then helped Ma Donghe up and led him toward the other end of the workshop.
The two moved swiftly in the darkness, weaving through the interlacing pipes.
As they stepped, they tried to make no sound and leave no trace, as if they were blending into the silent darkness around them.
They snuck all the way until they reached an inconspicuous office in a corner.
Fang Cheng gently pushed the door open, entered sideways, and then guided Ma Donghe to a hidden place inside, instructing:
"Donghe, you stay here and keep quiet. Wait for me to come back, and Iâll take you out."
Ma Donghe immediately understood the meaning in Fang Chengâs words, his heart tightened, and he quickly tried to dissuade him:
"Ah Cheng, they have many people, and theyâre armed with guns, itâs too dangerous. We should sneak out now under the cover of darkness, they might not be able to catch us."
His face was full of concern, fully aware of the tremendous power and ruthless tactics of the so-called Noah Organization, and he sincerely did not want Fang Cheng to risk himself alone.
"Dangerous?"
Fang Cheng slightly shook his head, a cold killing intent flashed in his eyes, casually responding: "If theyâre all dead, it wonât be dangerous."
Ma Donghe widened his eyes at these words, his gaze full of concern and commitment for his friend:
"Then let me go with you, donât look down on me just because Iâm hurt, Iâm pretty tough."
As he spoke, he puffed up his chest to prove he wasnât lying.
Fang Cheng gave him a glance, smiling as he gently patted his shoulder:
"Taking care of those people, I can handle it alone. You just focus on healing properly."
The words, though delivered with a playful tone, carried an undeniable firmness.
Ma Donghe wanted to say more, but seeing the resolute look in Fang Chengâs eyes, he swallowed his words.
He knew that once this guy decided on something, not even a team of oxen could change his mind,
so he nodded silently, praying in his heart for Fang Chengâs safe return.
..................
In the surveillance room, the light grew dimmer.
A few rows of closed-circuit televisions had almost turned into snowy screens, with chaotic white dots flickering incessantly.
Only one television screen remained stable, continuously transmitting real-time footage from the surveillance camera.
The image showed a chaotic gunfight taking place on the top floor of the workshop.
Bullets flew, sparks exploded, and there was an astonishing leap.
Shadow sat silently in front of the monitor, eyes fixed on the screen.
Everything that just happened played like a spectacular action movie.
And the main characterâs every move did not escape his eyes.
"Heh, indeed a master..."
Shadowâs lips curled slightly, excitement and anticipation gleaming deep in his eyes, as if a hunter had discovered a challenging prey.
He then quickly picked up the walkie-talkie, his voice low and authoritative as he issued the order:
"Attention everyone, report to me immediately upon spotting the target, do not make any mistakes!"
Subsequently, Shadow stood up briskly, emanating a vague dangerous aura, and murmured to himself:
"I want to meet him personally."
With that, he strode out of the room.
The hooded man saw this and quickly asked:
"Youâre going to deal with him, so what should I do?"
"You stay here and monitor the feed, inform me if anything comes up."
Without looking back, Shadow left these words behind, and his figure faded into the darkness, soon disappearing beyond the door.
The hooded manâs gaze returned to the only image on the surveillance screen.
After hesitating for a moment, he couldnât resist the urge within and quickly followed after him.
