Chapter 118: A Proper Apology

SLAP!

"Shut your fucking mouth."

Another slap echoed through the hallway and everyone flinched again at the sound! Jason took Jared by the shirt and held him up as he saw him stumble. Jason was holding back considerably at that moment, but the difference in strength between him and Jared still made it difficult for Jared to withstand the blows. Jason grabbed Jared’s shirt and dragged him closer before speaking in his face.

"What did I tell you about messing with him again? Look at me. I said fucking look at me, you fool. Answer my questions or I’ll slap you again. What did I tell you about messing with him?"

"Y-You think you’ll get away—"

SLAP!

Another slap landed on Jared’s cheek and there was another collective flinch from the students standing around the hall. The students all recognized Jason as the loner who only came to school at weird intervals and never bothered to get into trouble with anyone. But right now, they were seeing a new side of him that they had never seen before. Jason’s actions shocked many of them, but that wasn’t what really got to them.

It was Jason’s calmness in the face of such brutality. Even though Jason was smacking the shit out of one of their own classmates, he had such a calm and easygoing look on his face! Like he was just dealing with a child rather than one of the most popular students in the school!

Many of them had pulled out their phones and were recording the entire ordeal, and there were some who were live-streaming on Metube and Gram! The comments and likes on these videos were going absolutely crazy and it was obvious that this would become big news before long!

Jason narrowed his eyes at Jared, and Jared struggled to look at him through the tears that were gathering in his eyes. Jason spoke up.

"I said answer my question. What did I tell you about him?"

Jared swallowed desperately before he struggled to speak.

"Y-You said... not to mess with him again."

"Good, so tell me. Do I look like a clown to you?"

"Wha—?"

Jason raised his hand and Jared flinched and shouted!

"N-No! No, you don’t!"

"So why the fuck did you think I was joking? I warned you, Jared. I told you I wouldn’t take your bullshit anymore and you thought your threats would be enough to scare me? Listen to me very carefully because I will never warn you again. I don’t care if your father is the president of this country or the governor of the fucking moon. If I ever see you messing with any student in this school anymore, I’ll come for you. And when I’m done with you, you’ll never be able to step out of your house without shitting yourself. That’s a promise. Now apologize and get the fuck out of my sight."

Jason tossed Jared back roughly and Jared stumbled to his knees in front of Darren. Darren stared down at Jared with wide, shocked eyes and when Jared shot a glare up at him, Darren swallowed in fear. For a moment, Darren thought about just running away, but then he looked at Jason and the sight of Jason’s fearless posture gave him enough strength to stand his ground.

Jason spoke up.

"I’m not hearing a fucking apology, Jared. I don’t have all day."

Jared grit his teeth and growled as he slammed his fist into the ground and left a small crater behind! The students close to him all held their breaths as they watched the scene play out like a fucking movie and Jared put his tongue between his teeth and thought about biting it clean off!

This humiliation was just too much for him to bear! As someone who always looked down on others, Jared was used to being on top, so being put on his knees like this and made to apologize to this fucking pig made his blood boil!

But Jared knew that he didn’t have a chance against someone like Jason. Jared thought that his threats earlier would be enough to put Jason in his place, but it turned out that Jason just didn’t care. Jared swore at that moment that he would get back at Jason for this humiliation! There was nothing that would stop him from killing this bastard!

Jared stared at the floor for a few seconds as the deafening silence in the hall threatened to crush him before he finally spat out one word.

"Sorry."

Smack!

Jason kicked him on the ass.

"Apologise properly, you idiot. You’re sorry for what?"

Jared squeezed his hands into fists and he spoke through gritted teeth!

"I’m sorry... for b-bullying you. I won’t do it again."

At that moment, Jared wanted to kill himself!

Jason turned to look at Darren with a calm expression and he asked him if that apology was good enough. Darren was too stunned to speak for the first few seconds and he just stared at Jason in silence as he wondered if this was actually happening, but he eventually snapped out of his shock and nodded quickly with a wide smile on his face!

"Yes, boss! It’s alright!"

Jason gave the boy an easygoing grin in return before he turned around to walk away from the scene. But as he was leaving, his eyes landed on Fiona standing a few meters away and he gave her a look of disappointment. Jason already knew that Fiona wasn’t the same person he had been friends with a few years ago, but he never thought she would stoop this low. It was pathetic.

Fiona saw the look on Jason’s face and opened her mouth to say something, but Jason turned away from her before she could speak up and he continued walking. Darren quickly started to follow Jason while singing his praise and shouting his thanks, and the murmurs in the hall increased until all the students were practically shouting over each other in shock!

"Holy shit, did that just happen!? I can’t believe it!"

"Jared actually apologized to someone! It’s like the world is ending!"

"Did you see the slaps? I thought Jared’s head would fly off!"

"Chat, can you believe we got this on the stream!? We actually got a fight between superhumans in our school before GTA six!"

"The dude’s cheeks are still red! It’s swollen like a fucking grape!"

The students were going absolutely wild as they watched the scene play out and many of them began to disperse when they heard the loud voices of the school teachers that were finally arriving on the scene!

The teachers were stunned at the sight that came across. Jared was on his knees in the middle of the cafeteria and his cheeks were redder than cherries! What the hell happened to him!? One of the teachers pulled some students aside to ask them what happened, and once the students narrated the incident, the teachers quickly went and called Jason for proper questioning.

Jason had been getting his meal when he was called, but he left what he was doing and went with them. The next few minutes were filled with question and answer sessions as well as a lot of sighs from the teachers. The teachers couldn’t believe that Jason was already causing trouble on his first day back as a student, but there was nothing that the teachers could do to Jason, especially since there were so many witnesses that narrated how Jason was only trying to get justice for Darren.
