"You have no assurances other than my word. Itâs up to you if you want to listen to it or not."
Jasonâs calm nature and the way he spoke made Luthor feel slightly irritated since this was a serious situation, but Luthor decided that this was just how Jason was, and he shook his head and asked something else.
"Alright then, letâs assume that I believe you for a moment, are you trying to tell me that a princess from another world actually crossed into this world and has been living among us all this time?"
Jason nodded towards Luthor, and Luthor released a sigh as he thought back to the exchange that he stopped just a few minutes ago. Luthor noticed that the dragonriders had been trying to take a girl away, and they said that they would leave once they had her. That means that the person they were trying to take was the princess. But Luthor saw Jason take the princess and he noticed that the both of them seemed close. Doesnât that mean that Jason knew about the princess long before the Yellow Gate opened? Luthorâs eyes narrowed towards Jason, but he decided not to press Jason on this matter since there were more important things to tackle.
Luthor pointed up at the Yellow Gate with his sword and asked.
"You said that gate over there is a pathway to another world. If thatâs true, then what is going to happen when these soldiers donât return to report their mission to the tyrant? Arenât more of them going to come through the gate?"
Jasonâs eyes narrowed dangerously and Luthor actually felt a shiver go down his spine when he saw the look of pure hate that passed over Jasonâs face at that moment! There was an aura of power surrounding Jason as he looked up at the Yellow Gate that made him look more dangerous than ever before, and Jason spat out his next words with an intensity that showed Luthor that his calm face was hiding an intense anger inside him!
"Theyâll be seeing me soon enough, so you donât need to worry about them coming here. Just focus on taking care of the superhumans that were injured. Someone is already healing them, but theyâll be low on stamina and mana, so you need to get some ambulances here soon."
Luthor released a calm sigh as he turned to glance at the city once more. He looked at the absolute destruction that had been caused by the dragons. The fires that were still raging and releasing smoke for as far as the eye could see, and the broken building told nLuthor that the city would not be recovering anytime soon, and this made a heavy feeling of hatred rise in his heart for the people who were responsible for it. And at that moment, Luthor hoped that Jason would bring just as much destruction on the people of RAdagan for what they had done.
Luthor knew that Jason was just a newbie superhuman who got his powers a few weeks ago, but there was just something about Jason that made him seem very reliable at that moment. In a way, Luthor felt like he could trust Jason to keep his word, and as long as Jason was going to be handling the Yellow Gate himself, then they wouldnât have to worry about the tyrant sending more soldiers here.
Luthor put his swords back into his spatial ring, and he spoke while grabbing his comms from his pocket.
"Iâll take your word for it then, Mr. Jason. I hope you wonât let me down. If my superiors permit it, then Iâll likely be joining you on this mission into the gate. Letâs show this âSoverignâ that humanity isnât to be tested."
Luthor turned and jumped away from the building after saying this, and Jason watched him go for a few seconds before he turned around when he heard a message from Fenrir. The giant wolf was fighting together with Raya and it was complaining that it couldnât reach the dragons that were flying through the air since they were too high up! Jason gave a command for Fenrir to move back towards Azrael and help out there instead! Azrael was using lightning to bring down the dragons, so Fenrir could deal finishing blows to anyone who was grounded. Fenrir yipped as it happily moved towards Azrael, and Jason smiled as he shifted his attention to watching Ginaâs fight through the [Eye of the King], but it wasnât long before another figure landed a few meters behind Jason, and Jason clicked his tongue in irritation as he turned around to see who it was. Jason was already ready to tell whoever was there to fuck off, but his eyes suddenly widened as he felt an electric current pass through his body once his eyes met the fierce gaze of Commander Agiel. Agiel had injuries and burns all around her, and she was practically naked since her clothes were gone, but she stood tall, and she was looking at Jason with the same intense look in her eyes.
"I knew it. Youâre the one Iâve been looking for."
Jason frowned as he turned to regard Agiel properly and he watched as she took a few steps closer and looked up at him. He met her intense gaze with his fierce one and Agiel said.
"Tell me, Jason Marc. Did you feel it too? Whenever our eyes meet. Do you feel what I feel?"
Jason spoke while putting his hand on Agielâs shoulder.
"How about you take a step back before asking anything. I donât know what youâre talking about, but you should have those wounds looked at. Youâre bleeding real bad."
Agiel shrugged Jasonâs hand off her shoulder and stepped close to him again and Jasonâs eyes narrowed as she spoke!
"I donât care about these injuries! They donât fucking matter! What I care about is you. You and me and what we have! You canât tell me you didnât feel it! Donât lie to me! Youâre the one Iâve been looking for!"
Agielâs grin was still in place, but now her eyes held an intensity that Jason had never seen before! Jason began to feel worried that she had gone mad. There was nothing that Jason could say to the woman because this was the first time that they would be talking since the incident at the SMD building and Jason was still not happy with her for what happened there. But Jason couldnât deny that he knew what she was talking about. That strange electricity that passed between them every time their eyes met was a mystery that Jason didnât really feel like digging into.
Jason was about to tell Agiel to leave him alone for the last time, but Agiel suddenly spoke with venom in her tone!
"Say something to me, dammit. Or are you going to run from me like your father ran from my mother, you Avaran bastard!"
Jason was so shocked by the words that he just stared in silence for a few seconds. If there was one thing that Jason never expected Agiel to say, something like that, and she managed to catch him completely off guard! Was there some sort of link between their families? As far as Jason knew, his father had met his mother very early after he arrived on Earth, and they began a family very soon after. If that was the case, then when the hell would his father have met Agielâs mother?
But Agiel had called him an Avaran, and that told Jason that Agiel knew about his father not being from Earth! Jasonâs father had a whole life outside of this world before he ever came to Earth, and it was possible that Agielâs mother had known him before he came to Earth! Jasonâs shock was obvious from the look on his face, and when he spoke, his shock bled through into his words.
"Who the hell are you? Are you even human?"
