Liam furrowed his brow while looking over Florence, and he asked her if she was alright! Florence kept her face turned away from him so he wouldnāt see the blush staining her cheeks, and she cursed while pushing off him to stand on her own!
"Iām fine, just leave me alone, dammit!"
Jason scoffed in mild amusement as Liam frowned at Florenceās actions, and Liam just shook his head as he turned to speak to Jason again.
"Good luck out there, Jason. Iāll gather a team of superhumans who want to accompany you, and theyāll be ready to enter whenever you are."
Jason didnāt really feel like he needed any other superhumans to follow him inside a gate since he had the Legion, but he could tell that Liam was just trying to do his own part in helping out, and he pat Liam on the shoulder and thanked him. In a battle like this it was always better to have more than less, so Jason didnāt mind having superhumans there so long as they pulled their own weight. Jason gave Florence a nod and Florence thanked him for his effort before Jason finally walked away from the conversation. Jason began heading over to Gina, and Gina smiled happily and rose to her toes to kiss him once he was close enough. Jason wrapped his hand around her waist and held her up to deepen the kiss, and Ginaās smile widened when they separated a few seconds later. Jason gave Gina another short kiss, and Gina laughed while pushing his chest to stop him! This was embarrassing! There were some more murmurs coming from the superhumans around them, and Gina could already feel a blush staining her cheeks when she thought about so many people watching them!
Jason looked towards Riyala, and he saw that she still had more than two dozen people to heal. Riyalaās powers were strong, but that doesnāt mean she could heal everyone at the same time, so she was currently healing two to three people at once. At the pace that she was going, Jason knew that she would be done in about thirty minutes or so.
"When do you want to go into the Gate?"
Jason hummed when he heard Gina ask him this question. Jasonās hand was still around Ginaās waist, and she had a hand on his chest as she looked up at him. There was seriousness on Ginaās face, but the blush dusting her cheeks showed that she was enjoying being close to Jason a lot. Jason scratched his chin calmly before looking down at Gina again to answer:
"I think itās best if we do it after getting some sleep. Iām not at a hundred percent right now since Iāve been fighting since last night, so it might end badly if we meet someone whoās too strong. Iāll send some scouts into the Gate so they can spy on the enemies, and Iāll find out more about this Sovereign from the soldiers, then weāll head out tomorrow morning."
Jason came up with a reasonable plan on the spot. Jason knew that he was already pretty well rested, even though he had just finished a battle that took up a lot of stamina, but Jason didnāt want to risk going into a battle of this magnitude right after the battles that he had just been through. According to everything that Jason had heard about this Sovereign, the man was going to be extremely powerful! If Jason went into a battle where he had to fight someone strong enough to be regarded as an SSS Rank while also going up against hundreds of dragons and dragonriders, then Jason needed to make sure that he was at a hundred percent in both stamina and mana!
Gina nodded to Jasonās suggestion, and she said that it was a good plan. But Gina suddenly remembered that their house had been burned down in the battle she and Riyala had against the phantoms, and she asked Jason where he was staying now.
āDid you move to the new house?ā
Jason nodded calmly and he chuckled in amusement when Gina asked him how he was sleeping! Gina hadnāt furnished the house yet, so there was nothing there! Jasonās answer made Ginaās eyes widen.
āI just slept on the floor. I didnāt really care about anything other than getting you back, yāknow.ā
Gina felt a feeling of pure adoration soar out from her heart when she heard this from Jason, and she wrapped both hands around his waist and hugged him tightly while burying her face into his chest. Jason calmly pet Ginaās head as he felt some tears on his shirt and he kept her close so that no one else could see her like this.
āThank you.ā
Ginaās voice suddenly came through the mental link once again, and Jason smiled and said:
āYouāre always welcome, babe.ā
Gina kept her face buried in Jasonās chest for a long time as they stood together, and Jason continued to stroke her head as he felt his mind drifting towards the upcoming fight against the Radagan army once again. When Jason first heard about the Radagan war, he didnāt think he was going to get involved since it wasnāt his battle, but those fuckers sent assassins into his home and killed the woman he loved, and now they sent fucking dragons to destroy his city, so there was no way Jason was going to let this go! Jason looked over at Riyala, and he hummed as he began expanding on his plan. The Sovereign controlled an army of dragonriders, so Jason had to be prepared for tactics and attacks that were coordinated by highly intelligent beings.
āIāll ask the dragonriders to tell me about the army and their formations, and Iāll learn the tactics that the Sovereign uses against enemies. This army is different since theyāre trained for battle, so I need to do my fuckin homework. If I spend a few hours learning the tactics, then I should still have time to get enough sleep for tomorrow.ā
This thought passed through Jasonās mind, and Jason let out another calm sigh as he tried to get himself ready for what was going to be another massive battle, but Jasonās eyes widened slightly as he suddenly remembered something! Jason had gotten the third page from the Book of the Apocalypse earlier, and he hadnāt opened it all this time because he was so busy! Jason looked down and saw that Riyala was going to be busy for a few more minutes at least, so he told the system to bring up the message from his father.

[Book of the Apocalypse]
[Third Entry]
Hello, Jason.
Although it shouldnāt be that long since you last read one of these entries, itās been a year since I wrote the last one and two years since I left Earth. I am no stranger to the feeling of loneliness that comes with solitude. For most of my life after our world was destroyed, I have been alone, and I have become accustomed to enjoying my own company. But the past year has been harder than I expected it to be. I miss my family. You, your sisters, and most especially your mother. I do not know how you are all faring without me there, but I know you are all safe, and that is what keeps me going through this mission.
