Jason spread out his power to try and gauge how strong the mysterious man was, and Jason frowned when he saw that the man was barely an SS Rank. He didnât even have enough power to rival the Ashenvalley dragons on Radagan, so why in the world were the dragonborn acting so respectful toward him!
Riyala and the rest of the dragonborn all bowed respectfully the moment the man appeared, and Jason saw how the man looked at him in anger when he didnât bow as well. The man was obviously someone of higher standing than the rest of the Radagan nobles, and the fact that even Riyala bowed showed Jason that this had to be something serious, but Jason wasnât interested in bowing his head to someone he didnât even know so eh stayed standing and he decided that it would be best to simply wait and see what would happen before he made any movements. Jasonâs hand tightened around his weapon, and he watched calmly.
"@#$@#!@#!@!"
The man suddenly opened his mouth, and that same robotic language echoed through the throne room again. A prompt immediately appeared in Jasonâs system.
[The system has detected a Foreign Language.]
[Would the user like to learn the language of the [Machina]? Yes/No?]
Jason chose yes immediately, and he felt that same tingling sensation over his tongue and ears as the language filtered into his mind. Jason then listened to what the man had to say next.
"-designated world PDM-132942-Alpha, also known as Radagan. Third Rank, belonging to the Fourth Sector. You have been found guilty of violating the Primordial Treaty by the Supreme Overlord, and I have been sent to speak to your leader to discuss your punishment."
"What? Emissary, before any of this, why donât we sit down and talk? Iâm sure thereâs been a grave misunderstanding somewhere."
It was the King of Radagan who had spoken, and Jason could sense the panic in the manâs tone. Jason realized that he was the only one who didnât know what the hell was going on. Somehow, every single person in the room knew who this was and they were showing him respect. Jason immediately asked the system to explain who this person was and the system sent back a prompt.
[From the acquired information, the system has deduced that this man is a member of the Machina Race and an Emissary of the King of the Machina, Rubik, who is also the Supreme Overlord of this Primordial Domain. The system does not possess specific knowledge of the Primordial Treaty that the dragonborn are being accused of violating, but the system believes the Emissary is talking about the âInterworld Manipulation Treatyâ that prevents worlds within the Primordial Expanse from actively invading other worlds for economic, political, or psychological gains.]
Jasonâs eyes narrowed once he read through this information, and he heard the Machina speak up again.
"Conversation is not viable at this moment. You may present your case before a judge at a later date for review. I am only here to present you with your crimes and state the expectations King Rubik has from your people."
"What part of the treaty did they violate?"
Jason suddenly spoke up in annoyance, and he watched as the Machina turned to look at him, and although there was no change in the manâs expression, Jason could tell that he was looking down on him.
"An outsider â correction, a Human from the world designated PDM-235213-Alpha, also known as Earth. Your input is not required here. There are crimes that you will have to answer for as well, so I advise you to leave this world and return to your homeworld until we summon you for questioning."
"And what if I refuse?"
Jason tilted his head to the side as the pressure in the room suddenly began to rise, and the Machina gave Jason a hard look as it met his heated gaze with narrowed eyes! The foundation of the castle began to rumble from the intense staredown, and the Machina frowned when he felt his power being subdued by Jasonâs intense mana! Jason saw a blue glow shining out from the Machinaâs right hand, and Jason tightened his hand around the [Deathâs Mirage] as he prepared for an attack, but before he could do anything, Riyala stepped up and raised her hand to both men.
"Please, stop. Letâs try to settle this without a fight. Emissary, my name is Riyala, and I am the Priestess of Fire and the highest authority in this world. I demand an explanation for your actions here today. What crimes have my people been accused of?"
The Machina finally turned away from Jason and he gave Riyala a blank look. For a moment, Jason thought that the Machina would refuse to answer, but the Machina finally raised his bionic hand to chest level. A blue holographic screen appeared over his wrist to display a document, and the Machina read out in a loud voice.
"Article 56, subsection 19 of the Primordial Treaty states that no army from any world is allowed to enter another world with the express intention of invading or interfering in the political, economic, or civic state of that world without the express permission of the Supreme Overlord. It has come to our attention that multiple soldiers from the world known as Radagan entered Earth and caused a large-scale city-wide incident, which left many injured or dead, and not long after, members of Earthâs magic population entered the world known as Radagan and disrupted their political landscape for their own benefit. All actions stated herein are in violation of this treaty, and the involved parties are all expected to face dire consequences for their actions. The Radagan royal family and the invading party from Earth will both be required to pay the combined sum of ten billion gold coins to the Supreme Overlord before the Radagan Lunar Calendar is completed. That is all."
Someone could have heard a pin drop in the room with how quiet it was after the Emissary finished speaking, but it wasnât long before everything erupted in chaos!
"What nonsense is this!?"
"Are you insane!? Ten billion!?"
"How can we be punished for fighting for ourselves!"
"I demand a meeting with the Overlord! This canât be allowed to stand!"
"I wonât accept this! I wonât!"
The nobles in the room absolutely lost their marbles once they heard everything that the Machina had to say, and Jason couldnât blame them at all! Ten billion gold coins was a lot of money! One gold coin was equivalent to one thousand dollars on Earth, but Jason couldnât use that sort of comparison to describe just how much they were asking for. Even if someone were a trillionaire in dollars, it would still be difficult for them to use all that money to buy enough gold to produce one billion coins! It was just too much! And the worst part of it all was how stupid it all sounded to Jason. The entire punishment was absolutely senseless, and Jason couldnât even believe that someone would bring accusations like this and present them with so much confidence!
Jason spoke up in a low voice, but it managed to cut through the air and make everyone listen to him.
"So youâre saying we should have left them to die?"
This question was directed straight to the Machina and he turned to Jason with the same blank look he had given everyone. This made no sense at all to Jason. The punishment that they were trying to impose was a result of Jason and the other superhumans coming to this world. That meant the Supreme Overlord was saying that Jason should have stayed out of Radaganâs business and simply left them to die! It was insanity!
