Jason quickly sorted out a plan and announced it to the subordinates.
âWe canât fight this beast and expect to win, so weâll be retreating. Trigon, Ragnar, youâll be with me. The other dragons are going to provide distractions, and you over there, youâll head for the location we need to reach.â
Jasonâs last statement was directed towards one of his Rook Rank III dragons, and the dragon let out a roar in understanding as it quickly dived down towards Jason and Gina! Gina looked back at Jason with worry in her eyes as she used their mental link to ask him if this was okay! Gina really didnât like the idea of leaving Jason alone with this beast! But Jason just smiled, and he patted Ginaâs head calmly as he began walking forward.
âJust follow the plan and make sure the dragons get to the Dimensional Tear in one piece. Iâll be fine. I promise.â
Jason knew that this was the best way to handle this battle. The entire reason why this beast was here was because of Jason, and Jason knew that if he tried to head towards the Dimensional Tear on his own, then he was only going to draw the Beast to follow him! Instead, Jason was going to send Gina and the Rook Rank dragon towards the Tear for him, and he was going to stay back here and keep this bastard busy! Jason walked out from the protective bubble that Gina had created, and he felt a chill seep into his bones as the typhoon consumed him once again! Gina wished Jason luck one last time before she used the wind to rise into the air and landed on the back of the Rook Rank dragon!
BUUUOOOOOHHHHH!!
BOOM!
Another massive impact echoed from above, and Jason looked up with a grimace when he noticed that it was Ragnar who had gotten hit! The beast managed to slam its massive palm into the Bishop Rank dragon, and Ragnar shot through the air and crashed into the ground with enough force to send a massive rumble through the entire world!
[The Subordinate [Ragnar] has been killed]
[Would the user like to resurrect [Ragnar]? Yes/No?]
âHe died in one hit?â
Jason was shocked when he realised just how unmatched this beast really was! Ragnar and Trigon were able to distract it for now, but a single hit from the beast was all that would be needed to kill them both! Jason quickly told the system to resurrect Ragnar before he turned around and commanded the Rook Rank dragon to leave! Gina told Jason to be careful one last time before she put her hand forward and formed another massive wind bubble that forced the typhoon to flow around the dragon rather than hitting it! The dragon pushed off the ground and took off into the air in the direction of the Dimensional Tear, and Jason quickly crouched and jumped when he saw the beast trying to reach for the dragon!
Jason reached behind him and pulled out a [Deathâs Mirage], and he let out a deep grunt as he sent mana through it and activated a skill!
[Vertical Slash] has been activated!
SLASH!
BUUUUOOOOHHHH!!!
The blade cut true and slashed a massive wound into the arm of the Beast, and the Beast was forced to pull back immediately! Jason cursed in annoyance when he saw that he didnât take off the beastâs arm, but at least Gina and the Rook Rank dragon managed to disappear into the typhoon! Jason realised that he wasnât able to cut the Beastâs arm off because he was weaker than the Beast. The Deathâs Mirage worked by taking Jasonâs mana and manifesting it in a physical form that would allow him to cut through any foe in front of him! But what would happen if the enemy were stronger than Jasonâs mana? Then it wouldnât be able to cut through it completely!
BUUUUOOOHH!
A mighty kick suddenly flew in Jasonâs direction, and Jason braced himself as he realised that he wouldnât be able to get out of the way quickly enough! Jason folded his body closed and brought an arm up to protect his head!
âHow is this thing so fucking fast!?â
ROARRRR!!!
Trigon quickly appeared from behind and unleashed a blast of dragonfire on the Beastâs head, and this forced the Beast to lose its balance, and this gave Jason just enough time to surround his body in Qi and fly away from the Beastâs range! Jason had so many plans in his head for how he could take care of this Beast! This wasnât the first time Jason would face off against a monster that was far larger than him, and he had been able to handle things just fine before. But Jason knew that all of his plans were useless in an environment like this! Jason couldnât use the [Piercing Ray] or [Stone Wall] Pawn Class Unique Skills because he knew that the moment he called on any of the Pawns in his Legion, they would freeze solid immediately! And Jason couldnât even call on his Rook Rank I or Rook Rank II subordinates because they would also suffer the same fate! The only subordinates that Jason could use here were the Rook Rank III and the Bishop Rank subordinates, and there just werenât many tactics that Jason could formulate using only these subordinates!
Jason landed a few feet away from the beastâs location, and he slid back to a stop as he watched the Beast swipe its hand at Trigon! Jason glanced to the side, and he was greeted by the terrified face of a Machina soldier that had been frozen solid by the intense cold. Jasonâs eyes narrowed as he immediately recognized the Machina as someone he had met before, and it wasnât long before he remembered meeting her at the stone catacombs.
âHer name was Freya, right? Guess she didnât stand a chance against the cold.â
Freya was encased in the same silver ice that Jason had seen when he first came to this world, and Jason was sure that he would find many more soldiers just like her if he looked around this area. Jason shook his head and focused back on the beast!
âI donât need to defeat it. I just need to figure out a way to distract it long enough for Gina to reach the Dimensional Tear. I can hurt it with the Deathâs Mirage, and I have enough mana to keep this fight going for as long as I want.â
This thought went through Jasonâs mind, and Jason grit his teeth in annoyance as he realised that he was just trying to fight for survival here! Jason had already become one of the most powerful people in this entire domain, and he knew for a fact that there wasnât a single person on Earth who could challenge him, so the mere fact that Jason had to move so carefully just to make sure he wasnât killed by this bastard lit a fire of pure anger inside him! It was fucking irritating! But Jason knew that there was literally no way he could kill this thing with the amount of power he had now! This wasnât a matter of suddenly figuring out a secret technique or ability that would allow him to fight better; there was just literally no way to kill this beast with his current level of power!
âFuck it, letâs just give it everything! Azrael!â
Jason shouted out to the undead Lich, and Azrael quickly answered from the Alternate Dimension! Jason asked Azrael what the strongest offensive Rune he knew was, and Azrael only needed to think for a split second before he answered that there was a rune called [Arrow of the Lightning God]. It was a Second Class rune that had been designed as a siege weapon for taking down large castles during the Period of Lawlessness. The damage done by the attack was so intense that it would sometimes eradicate every single person within a castle without anyone needing to lift a finger.
