Selena was sleeping in his arms, hugging him tightly as if she didn’t want to let him go. For some reason, Sera or Flora didn’t even bother coming to see him.

“What are you doing? Are you getting nervous that you’re going to meet your father soon?” Nathan smiled.

Selena looked at his face without any change of expression before burying her face in his chest.

How could she say she overheard everything about Nathan’s plan? She originally wanted to check on him since Risa had gone back after sucking his blood. She didn’t expect she would hear him planning such a dangerous thing for her.

She first felt shocked, but that shock soon turned into shame. Nathan had done a lot for her.

“What’s wrong?” Nathan asked in a gentle voice.

Selena’s body shook, then froze. She remained silent for a minute before an answer leaked out of her mouth.

“I feel like… I have been taking everything for granted. You have done so much for me, yet I…” Selena bit her lips. “…I can’t do anything for you.”

Nathan looked surprised at first but turned to smile a few seconds later. “You can’t do anything, huh?”

It was probably because of the life-and-death battle, the already more mature mind Nathan possessed on Earth became even wiser.

He put his hand on the back of her head while saying in an assuring tone, “You’re probably the only one thinking like that.

“I am… alone in this world.”

“!!!” Selena was startled. For Nathan, he was alone because he came from Earth. For Selena, she thought Nathan was alone due to his identity as a unique summoner.
