"August. How are you doing?" Nathan shook Augustâs hand.
"Itâs the same. Just doing my best." August smiled. "People used to think that you were relying on Selena, but it looks like itâs the other way around."
"Ahahaha. I definitely relied on Selena."
"You might have far surpassed me right now, but the last laugh will be mine." August tightened his grip as if to show his determination.
"!!!" Nathan was surprised at first but soon smiled. "I wonât lose."
August nodded. The gap between them was apparent. However, Nathan could grow at his own pace, as he would do the same. Even if Nathan became that strong quickly, the opponents he would face would also be much stronger.
He might even die in one of his ordeals.
That was why he would continue forward at his own pace. If he could surpass Nathan in one way or another, even if it took him his entire life, he would be the one to have the last laugh.
âThe gap is not there to put us in our place. Itâs there to show us we can reach that point as well. For that, I will continue moving forward,â swore August in his heart.
"Principal." Nathan politely shook his hand.
"Youâve grown so much. Iâm expecting a lot from you. Also, make sure you take care of your women as well. I wonât forgive you if you make my disciple sad."
"I will do my best." Nathan smiled.
"Thatâs right. How long are you going to leave this time?"
"Iâm not entirely sure. There are a lot of things to do as well. Iâm thinking about a year, but it might be more than that. During that time, the situation might become more dangerous."
"I will surely keep an eye on the front line."
"Yes. Thank you, Principal."
"Nathan... Thank you." The principalâs expression turned genuine all of a sudden. It shocked Nathan but reminded him of the message he had relayed to him earlier. "I couldnât say it earlier, but please tell her itâs not her fault.
"I donât mind whether itâs tea, coffee, or alcohol. Letâs all have a drink together."
Nathan knew he wasnât just talking about Evelyn. Bella, or even his teacher and Melissa, might be included. Just like the happy relationship they had during their school days, it would be best to reunite once again.
"I understand. I will pass your message to them."
The fact Nathan used âthemâ meant he understood the message of the word âallâ in his words earlier.
"Go! I believe you will return in the future. Just make sure to return with a smile on your face."
"I will." Nathan nodded with a serious expression. "Besides, what do you think of my student, Principal?"
"Hahaha. Now that you are a teacher, you are bragging about your student like your master, you know that? She often bragged about you to me." The principal laughed out loud. "She will do just fine, like you. Donât worry. I will watch over her."
"Thank you."
"Now go. Itâs rare for you to have time with your disciple. Spend it wisely."
"Right?" Nathan politely lowered his head and put his hand on Irisâ shoulder. "Letâs go!"
Iris was smiling from ear to ear. Although people were jealous of her talent, they couldnât deny that Iris was actually a very beautiful kid. After all, she was once a noble, giving her an elegant charm.
That smile couldnât help but put a few people in a trance. Though, Nathan definitely thought, âShoo, shoo. Loli, no touch.â
Nathan spent the entire day with Iris. They talked about everything from his lesson to everything that happened at the academy.
Iris wrote down everything Nathan said about the micro control. Of course, he also got that information from Evelyn. Iris needed a lot of things to even make it work, let alone master it.
During this time, Nathan learned a lot about Irisâ school life. As expected, it was the same as the story he had read on the Internet regarding a genius who skipped grades. They were treated as outcasts most of the time.
Still, he had seen some places that treated those geniuses differently. He hoped that the show he put on this time would make them change.
It looked like Aris and the kids also sent letters to her, mostly written by Aris. Their letters allowed her to endure the loneliness.
Although there were still a lot of things to talk about, Nathan ultimately returned after midnight.
Nathan had two more important things left to do before his departure.
The first one was to officially create his domain. But because he had to wait for the result from Vivian as well as the cores from Evelyn, he planned to do it within one or two days before the departure.
The second one was to help his girls. Flora was the one who needed his help the most. Because he was going to leave for a long time, Flora used the small favor from both Duke Coline and Duchess Rena to get some cores and materials.
She asked Nathan to evolve the remaining spirits into great spirits. Selena, Sera, and Alavenya would be fine with their path. Selena had Ying Zhen, Amphitrite, and Lilith by her side. Sera had Asmodeus, Raphael, and Janus. Alavenya had learned a lot of things from Nathan.
The problem was that Nathan rarely saw Noelle anywhere. When he asked the girls, they also didnât know where Noelle was going.
Little did she know, Noelle was actually visiting her grandfather on the front line.
Even Duke Sullivan didnât expect Noelleâs arrival here.
"What are you doing?" Duke Sullivan asked. This was probably the first time she had come with such a troubled expression. "Have you finally made up your mind? If you are going to leave that kid, although itâs a shame, thatâs fine for me as well. After all, this is your life. Iâm doing my best to give you the best choice, but if you want to make your own path, I wonât stop you."
Noelle took several deep breaths before pressing her chest and clenching that hand into a fist as though she was gathering her resolve. "Grandfather... Can I ask you something?"
