Chapter 1140: Red String of Fate

"So, this is the land..." Bella looked around. "There shouldn’t be anyone around here."

The coast was no different from what they had on their continent. There was sand and grass, but there were no structures or any trace of humans around the area.

Considering they were quite far from the harbor that became the border between the two territories, it wasn’t surprising to find this deserted place.

It was fortunate for them because they had more time to prepare before going their own ways.

"Yeah. I don’t detect any presence, but I will scout the area to make sure of it." Sonia disappeared into the shadows, searching for any clues right away.

Evelyn was staring at Nathan as if she were trying to judge his decision. She asked, "So, where are we supposed to have a ’date’?"

"Oh my. Are you that eager for our date?" was what Nathan wanted to say, but it felt like Evelyn would smack him if he continued joking around. So, Nathan summoned Mae and asked, "Mae. Can you divine the fortune?"

"Hmm? I have told you before, Master. I can’t read your fortune." Mae shook her head.

"No. Not me." Nathan pointed at Evelyn.

"!!!" Both Evelyn and Mae looked surprised.

Mae was a bit hesitant, but she asked, "If I read your fortune, it might affect your karma and life force."

"If that is necessary, I’m willing to cooperate." Evelyn nodded without hesitation. "What am I supposed to do?"

"I will need your blood essence. I can perform everything by myself as long as I receive your full cooperation."

"Understood." Evelyn wanted to see what Nathan was planning to do.

"Please give me your hand."

Once Evelyn extended her hand, Mae cut Evelyn’s palm with her nail and channeled her ena into her arm. This way, the blood didn’t leak out of the wound.

Her energy seeped into Evelyn’s heart. Evelyn could feel that something was draining from within her body. It made her body feel quite heavy, but it wasn’t anything too alarming.

Mae guided the blood to flow toward the wound. A droplet formed as Mae picked the droplet and let it remain floating above her palm.

"I feel like something is draining..." Evelyn squinted her eyes.

"I’m using your life force to calculate your destiny. If I use this on the same person multiple times, it will not only destroy one person’s karma, but it will also suck them dry. So, it’s not something I can do lightly," explained Mae.

She then lifted up the blood and joined her hands together before raising her forefingers and middle fingers at the same time.

"Destiny Glass. Open!"

The blood expanded and turned into a translucent red glass. The red glass moved to the top of Evelyn’s head.

All of a sudden, everyone who saw the glass found threads emerging from Evelyn’s head. Among those seven threads, one was red, two were gold, and four were white.

"Oh?" Vivian widened her eyes in surprise. She had a fortune teller as an acquaintance, so it was surprising that there was another way of fortune telling.
