“Understood.” A cloaked man nodded. He raised his arm as a dagger made of shadow manifested out of thin air. The dagger emitted black mist and swallowed the man into the shadows.

After that, he rushed to the lord’s mansion. The one who met them was a young lady. She looked like a doll. She had long blue hair and a graceful body.

“Young lady…” The manager politely bowed.

“Manager Crow. May I know the reason for your visit today?”

The manager hesitated for a moment before asking, “May I know if the marquis…”

Before he finished, the woman had replied, “He’s not here. There’s no one here other than me today.”

The manager looked troubled. ‘This doesn’t look good. Young Lady Amelia might be the second daughter of the marquis, but she’s known as the most useless woman.

“…” The manager felt pressured. They didn’t have much time. “This… What are we supposed to do?”

Amelia pondered carefully before asking, “Should I handle this problem, Manager Crow?”

“Young lady?” The manager widened his eyes in surprise.

The manager observed her reaction, not knowing how to react. There was also a chance she had a grudge because of her treatment and wanted to destroy this deal.

However, without her presence, there would be no deal at all. So, there was no other choice but to believe her.

The manager finally agreed with her. “I understand. I shall assist you to the best of my ability.”
