Chapter 1234: Unexpected Variable
The second prince dropped his jaw to the ground. He simply couldnât believe that the Grand Tutor would actually lower his head.
âI donât even know who you are.â Nathan squinted his eyes. It was a valid statement. If it could be settled with just an apology from a random person, people might cause even more trouble.
âI am Henry Kharasta Dion, the Grand Tutor of the empire. I promise you I will investigate this matter properly.â
Nathan shook his head. âSince you apologize on his behalf, I will not make a big deal of his sneak attack against me.â
âThank you.â
Even Nathan didnât expect someone at this level to apologize. It was the same as demanding Sullivan to apologize.
However, Nathan only mentioned the attack, not what happened before that.
That was why he also didnât lie to the Grand Tutor about this matter. He didnât plan to let it go just like this.
Obviously, he still intended to make the second prince his bait. And it looked like his plan succeeded.
The moment the second prince got over his shock, hatred started to leak out from his eyes. Nathan could feel that the second prince was aiming for his head.
That was why Nathan nodded. âLetâs end this matter here. I should leave.â
âIndeed.â The Grand Tutor nodded and extended his hand, letting them leave.
Nathan turned around, his hand still on Vivianâs shoulder. It was a clear provocation to the second prince, but unfortunately, Nathan couldnât turn his head around because Henry was still watching. He definitely wanted to turn back with a smug smile to provoke him even further.
âElder. Why are you letting them leave? He hurts me, the second prince. You should capture him and torture him!â The second prince raised his voice.
âYour HighnessâŠâ Henryâs voice was deep and heavy, as though he was tired because of this problem. âAlthough I donât know the cause of this problem, I know two things.
âFirst, you launched a sneak attack on him, which might kill him⊠You attacked him first. Second, you harassed his woman.
âEven for your father, I have never stopped him from having other women in his life, but harassment is a different thing. Do you know how hard it is to restore trust when itâs broken?
âRather than worrying about him, I would worry about you first.â
The second prince could only lower his head as if he were scared. But his face couldnât be any different. He was gritting his teeth as if he were planning to settle this grievance.
âŠ
Once they left the area, Nathan finally let out a sigh of relief. âIt looks like weâre fine.â
âSeriously⊠You areâŠâ Melissa wanted to reprimand him, but she abruptly stopped when she saw Vivianâs state.
Vivianâs face was still red, as if she were enjoying the whole situation. What made it frustrating was the fact that Melissa had been worrying about Nathan the whole time, while she was enjoying it.
âYou bitch.â Melissa couldnât help but curse out loud. âYou were acting like a saint when you told me how bad it was to have a relationship with your own student, but look at you.â
Bella only chuckled. Whether they were rivals or something else, these two were indeed close. They might pick up each otherâs habits. And Vivian just happened to pick âthatâ up.
âW-What?!â Vivianâs body shook as she hurriedly straightened her back. She faced away, closed her eyes, and coughed as if she was trying to act as if nothing had happened, but that face still remained.
Nathan smiled wryly as the correct choice would be to remain silent in this argument.
Bella approached him, asking, âStill, why are you doing something so reckless?â
Nathan only shook his head. âLetâs head to the inn first. Iâm tired after having done a lot of things for the past few weeks.â
âAh, right?â Bella thought Nathan just didnât want to talk about it, especially in the street. Unlike other cities, the street was not so empty, so a lot of people might hear them. âLetâs go to the inn first.â
âŠ
As soon as they reached the inn, Fenrir turned back to his original form and checked the situation around.
âI canât sense anyone, but that old man might be one of them.â
Nathan thought for a moment before summoning Mae. It was better to use an illusion to talk with them.
Mae would transmit Nathanâs words through the illusion and vice versa.
âSo, why did you do such a thing? Did you know that you were almost dead? That guy was the second prince of this empire, James Grattis Larnatt.
âHis talent rivals that of the first prince. The first prince came from the empress, while that guy came from one of the emperorâs many wives.
âStill, he is one of the candidates for the throne. His talent is also one of the greatest in the empire, so the emperor might favor him and kill you.
âWe should have escaped back then instead of fighting him. Or do you want to get into your teacherâs bed that much?!â
âSenior Bella!â Vivian raised her voice to stop her. She wanted to dig a hole and bury herself inside.
âAlright, I will stop teasing, but seriously, that could have been more dangerous.â Bella frowned, staring at Nathan.
Even Melissa and Vivian couldnât figure out his intention.
Nathan let out a sigh before giving his reply. âTo eliminate the Death Society, of course. Explaining the entire situation will be too long, so I will just keep it brief.
âAlthough I havenât read the detailed report about this prince, I have read the document regarding the empireâs structure.
âSo, I know what will happen to us. I have to admit⊠the Grand Tutor is something I didnât expect. However, his appearance works to my advantage.
âThatâs why I did it.â Nathan shrugged.
âStillâŠâ Bella wanted to protest.
However, Nathan continued, âBesides, this is why I donât want to be nobility in the first place or get close to the royal family. After doing them a favor by introducing the cloud-repelling device, they can still rob me.â
ââŠâ They definitely could understand that sentiment.
There was actually one more thing that Nathan wouldnât expect. It was Neyeid.
