Chapter 1269: Getting the Goods
Nathan looked at Ignore as if he were contemplating whether he should proceed with the deal or not.
Ignore didnât back down from his gaze, solemnly swearing that the price was fair.
After two minutes of silence, Nathan finally gave the answer. âWe have a deal.â
âThatâs good.â Ignore nodded with a satisfied expression.
âI want to see the first two items first.â
ââŠâ Ignore couldnât accept it right away. What if Nathan backed down or even stole the items from him after looking at the two items?
At the same time, Nathan would be in trouble if he handed over the money and Ignore ran away.
Of course, Ignore had a reputation to maintain, but this deal was extremely big, especially in the current worldâs situation, where peopleâs financial situations didnât look good.
Ignore assessed the situation carefully before extending his hand. âWe have a deal. Please meet me tonight. Order a âwater juiceâ from the bartender. He will lead you to the place.â
Nathan didnât say anything after that. He just stood up and left.
It gave a clear message to Ignore that he wasnât playing around.
Then again, Nathan needed the items to summon his next familiar. The quality of the items might not matter much, but this was the respect he should give to the divine beasts.
That night, Nathan walked back into the tavern and ordered a âwater juiceâ without even asking how ridiculous that order was.
The bartender seemed to understand it and immediately led him to the second floor of the tavern, which turned out to lead to another staircase that brought him to the basement instead.
Inside the basement, Ignore was standing with several other summoners. Two of them were even crystal sense stage summoners. They came here either for protection or for something else.
âWelcome, esteemed customer.â Ignore smiled. On the table in front of him rested two boxes. âI have brought you what you want, but I donât think you have brought me what I want. Are you perhaps playing me here?â
Ignore didnât find Nathan bringing anything, so it was a reasonable assumption.
âWhat makes you think I donât bring you what you want?â Nathan just casually walked toward the table.
On the way, the ena around his hand dispersed, revealing a bag.
âYou donât even notice I bring you anything?â Nathan smiled.
ââŠâ Ignore narrowed his eyes. Nathan had just shown him an illusion that he couldnât see through despite being on the same level as Nathan.
When Nathan placed that bag on the table, he demanded, âMy items?â
âHow am I supposed to know whether this is true or not? You have just shown me a high-level illusion. Donât you think this money looks like an illusion?â
âIf you think you are such a low-level summoner who canât even figure out whether the ena is condensed or dispersed, then do whatever you need to do.â Nathan shrugged.
Ignore flicked his fingers before pointing his finger at Nathan. âThis is the first time Iâve had such a customer. It looks like Count Harold sent me a very interesting client.â
âMy items.â Nathan demanded with a stern voice, reminding him that he wouldnât repeat it again.
Ignore opened the first box, revealing the lizard skull. âThis is the lizard skull. You should be able to sense a trace of energy within it. The quality is something rare even on the black market.â
He then continued with the second box. âThis is the burning crystal I mentioned previously.â
It was a red crystal that came not from a natural color but from the intense heat. It might be combined with the energy in this world, which formed its reddish color, as if it were melting on the inside.
âThere are 180 million Zel on that bag. 132 million for these two items, 1 million for the dog, but I want it to be delivered as quickly as possible. The rest is for the information and a good job.â
Ignore didnât say anything yet, but Nathan paid him around 15 million just for this âgood job.â
It was basically implying that he wanted him to rush to get that dog as quickly as possible.
âIt will be ready in 7 days.â
âIn that case, I will return in 7 days.â Nathan waved his hand, this time showing openly that he had just condensed his ena around the two boxes. Then, the two boxes disappeared.
With his ena, he carried the transparent boxes on his back. âAre we good?â
âThank you for your patronage, esteemed customer.â Ignore smirked. âThis is the information for the lightning stone.â
Nathan checked the information. The scroll was a map. It was a very small map, but it contained the location and where he should go to find it.
The mountain was located southeast of the empire.
Nathan might not know where this mountain was, but he should have no problem going there. Even if he had to retreat, he could do it easily now that he had the space element.
âRukish Mountain. It wonât be easy, but it wonât be too hard either. I guess the space element makes almost everything convenient,â muttered Nathan inwardly.
âYou should be careful when you are there. You might want to hire an elite group that can bring you there. I donât want to deliver the goods to a grave,â added Ignore.
âWarning accepted.â Nathan nodded as the scroll disappeared, like the boxes. Now that the transaction was over, he casually walked outside without letting his guard down in case Ignore chose to attack him.
It was fortunate that nothing happened.
Once outside, Mae couldnât help but ask, âSo, what are we going to do now, Master? Are we leaving tomorrow? Do we need more people to help us?â
âNo. No need. This is not because Iâm confident that I can suppress all of them or that Iâm strong enough. Knowing my luck, we might end up fighting the two elite class aliens ourselves, and thatâs without me jinxing it.
âEither way, I can do this alone now. Itâs still going to be dangerous, so be prepared.â
