Chapter 1287: Loki?
âHaa⊠Ha⊠This is harsh, even for me.â Nathan panted heavily. He had been using the new techniques a lot to master his new power.
It definitely took a toll on his mind. Fortunately, they managed to take down the two elite class aliens as well as the rest of the lower-level aliens.
It took them a few hours, but they managed to handle the situation themselves. The one who contributed the most in that fight was undoubtedly Xolotl.
Without his help, Orochi and Kun wouldnât be able to handle the elite class alien by themselves. And Xolotlâs lesson was practically something that Nathan needed the most.
Thanks to his existence, they managed to get stronger. Nathanâs decision in summoning him was actually better than his initial expectation.
âThatâs because whoever teaches you is bad. If they taught you properly, you should have reached a much further level, Summoner.â Xolotl walked toward him while crossing his arms.
Nathan smiled wryly. âUnfortunately, there was no one teaching me about the elements. My current teacher was developing my physique and my connection. I did learn elements from a couple of people, but that was it. I couldnât really call them my mentors, let alone my teacher.â
âNo wonder.â Xolotl looked at the other divine beasts. âAnd none of you teaches him anything?â
âI was the one teaching him about elements.â Mae raised her hand. âQilin and Kun helped as well, but the rest⊠well, none of them have extensive knowledge about elements, especially the ones he has.â
Xolotl squinted his eyes. âYou foxy definitely has some understanding, but your foundation is just an illusion. You may have some knowledge of all elements, but you are certainly not a master. The same applies to that deer over there. As for that whale, he must be the one teaching this foundation. Am I right?â
None of them denied it. Xolotl had figured out the entire situation. It was no wonder Nathan was weak.
âFrom the looks of it, he doesnât seem to be that weak, but thatâs because of his wide vision as well as his trickery.
âThe stronger you are, the more useless trickery becomes. But that trickery reminds me of one person.â
âHmmm? One person?â Nathan raised his eyebrows, wondering if there was a god in his mythology that was famous for their trickery.
âIâm talking about someone who claimed to be from Asgard. What did he call himself again? Loki?â
âHuh?â Nathan widened his eyes in shock. Even Fenrir and Nidhogg couldnât believe what they had just heard.
They certainly knew the place and who that person was.
But Xolotl wasnât supposed to be from the same mythology, so how could he actually know him?
âIt looks like none of you are aware of what happened.â Xolotl looked down, falling into deep thought.
âWhat do you mean, ehm, Xolotl? I can call you by your name, right?â
âIt doesnât matter to me how you want to call me.â Xolotl nodded. âBefore I say it to you, I need to confirm a few things. What do you know about Earth?â
âEarthâs mythologies might be real. And we have learned that Earth has been transported from this universe. It looks like the aliens know about your existence as well.â
Xolotl closed his eyes for a moment before asking his next question. âDo you know how powerful those extraterrestrial creatures are?â
âPretty much.â Nathan nodded. âI have read their stories to a certain extent.â
It looked like Xolotl had made a decision. âIâm just going to tell you a part of it because of two reasons. First, Iâm not the one witnessing or making that decision myself. Second, itâs because you should learn a bit about the truth.â
Nathan wanted to know everything, but he might be able to find out more later. And it wasnât like he was in a rush. âI understand.â
âSince you are aware that the mythologies are real, it is easy. They are indeed real, but that doesnât mean much. Compared to what you are fighting right now, we are not enough. You are aware that our opponent is those aliens⊠and the one leading them is reality itself, right?â
âIf you are talking about Azathoth, then yes.â Nathan nodded. âAnd Azathoth has been controlled by the singularity.â
âWhich is why I have to say what you are doing is crazy. If you plan to fight reality itself, killing him is the same as destroying this reality. In other words, you will cease to exist if you want to win. There is no victory, there is only mutual destruction.â
Nathan didnât deny the possibility. He had already expected this from the beginning. âCthulhu said they have a plan. So, I will only decide whether to proceed with their plan or not after knowing their plan. I, too, plan to enjoy my new life, so thereâs no way I choose to die.
âIn fact, we might be able to prolong their battle for, like⊠eternity. But thatâs just me spewing my bullshit because I still donât know how or what Iâm talking about. Either way, thatâs the idea.â
It looked like Nathan had understood the meaning, so Xolotl chose to reveal the knowledge to him.
âBack then, we already knew of their existence. They were powerful, but it wasnât like we were lacking either.â
Nathan wanted to agree, but compared to Azathoth, they were certainly lacking. âBut the conflict itself was not with the alien race, right?â
âYes. But it was already too late. Earth once had realms beyond the planet because Earth itself was special.â
âSpecial?â
âI couldnât tell you about it. What I can tell you about is that the realms might not be aware of each other, but they had no choice but to band together, or more like only those who were qualified knew each other.
âBecause of that fight, Earth suffered a crushing defeat. Those who still remained convened a meeting to decide what to do next. 20 representative gods had to come to an agreement back then, and that was when there was this weird guy, who was supposed to be unqualified but somehow joined that meeting.â
Nathan couldnât help but furrow his eyebrows. âWeird guy?â
âYeah. He introduced himself as Loki.â
â!!!â
