Chapter 1293: Twist of Life
âChronos?â Nathan widened his eyes in shock. The person who claimed to be his familiar was not Fenrir, but Chronos? How could he believe it?
This was what had happened during the summoning ritual, so it should have proceeded as he remembered.
In fact, he had the Divine Beast Fragment, which was why he could only summon divine beasts. Yet, for some reason, he summoned Chronos, a humanoid familiar.
So, it was weird for it to happen unless this was not him.
âThatâs right. This⊠might not be my memoryâŠâ Nathan had just repaired the problem in his soul, so this might be a part of the memory that the original Nathan had.
And it looked like he couldnât move his body or open his mouth. He wasnât the one in control.
âGod of Time?â
âDid he summon a god?â
âImpossible. There was no way that farmer could do such an impressive thing.â
âBut thereâs no way a familiar would lie, right?â
âThey can lie, but this is the first summoning. There is no way that country boy has that knowledge for the familiar to lie.â
People were completely baffled. Even the teacher, Jason, was dumbfounded. He thought, âSummoning a being close to the divinity should be possible, but most of the time, they will come only after the fifth summoning or so.
âBecause there is simply a different level of power playing here. Yet, for some reason, the one who proclaims himself to be a god comes during the first summoning?
âWhat does this mean? The first summoning is a way to determine oneâs potential. To summon such a being in his first summoning means his talent is nothing like anyone has ever seen before.â
There were three people who remained silent. The first one was Selena Ashton, a noble daughter who had fallen out with her family. She was observing what kind of person Nathan was. Even she, who had been hailed as a genius, could only summon a vampire countess.
The second one was definitely August, the successor of the blacksmith guild. He determined that Nathan was a wild card that should be taken before anyone could make their move.
The third one was Rudeus, the prince of the Liaystian Kingdom. As a kingdom that desired military power, the Liaystian Kingdom would spare no effort in recruiting him. But if they failed to do so, they would do anything in their power to eliminate him and not let anyone have him.
Nathan couldnât help but ask, âWhy would someone like you appear during the first summoning?â
No one certainly expected this kind of question. It was as if he were questioning his own talent.
Then again, his talent was so high that it was definitely unbelievable.
Chronos smirked before laughing. He didnât say anything and simply disappeared, leaving everyone hanging.
âWait a moment!â Jason shouted and stopped the summoning ritual. He grabbed Nathanâs shoulders while saying, âYou guys wait here for a moment. This is a matter beyond my scope. Iâm going to ask the vice principal first.â
Without letting anyone react, Jason had brought Nathan out of the classroom. There was no way he would let someone like Rudeus snatch Nathan.
And once again, Nathan was standing in front of his teacher, Vivian.
Even Vivian couldnât contain her shock after learning that Nathan had summoned the God of Time.
Unlike when it was Nathan from Earth, who surprised her with his bullshit, the original Nathan simply showed something that no one had ever seen before.
âDid you really summon a god?â Vivian asked.
âI donât know.â Nathan shook his head. It was an obvious answer. The familiars could be lying as well. Nathanâs innocent face made Vivian believe him.
âDid you see his status?â
âI did.â Nathan nodded.
âCan you tell me what it says?â
âYes. His name is Chronos. His level is 129. His race is Titan. And his quality is Good (Low). That was what I saw when I looked at him.â
âThisâŠâ Vivian contemplated. âLevel 129 in one go?â
Jason gulped down. âNormally, people would have their familiars at level 30 to 50. There was a peerless genius who was said to be able to take the seat of the worldâs strongest summoner, but that person was rumored to summon a familiar at level 71 in his first summoning.â
It could be said that the amount of ena in Nathanâs body far surpassed even the strongest genius, Elysion Aquamoon.
Earth Nathan watched the entire thing unfold as he connected the dots of everything. âI see. Back then, my teacher mentioned that I was brought here because I had an exceptional amount of ena. I never thought it would be this crazy. And that ena seemed to have disappeared out of nowhere, leaving only Fenrir behind.
âMaybe that ena was used for the soul contract to summon me to this world? Iâm not entirely sure of it yet, but⊠does the original Nathan even have the Soul Contract right now?
âAlso, why did Chronos appear? I could understand to a certain extent if it were someone else, but Chronos was supposed to be a true god. He should be at Xolotlâs level, not Fenrirâs level.
âWas it because of the karma? I couldnât see the karma, so I couldnât really know. And Chronos didnât say anything earlierâŠâ
Earth Nathan had no choice but to wait for a bit.
On the other hand, Vivian asked, âKid⊠Ahem, I mean, Nathan. Do you want me to become your teacher?â
âTeacher?â Nathan tilted his head in confusion.
âThatâs right, Teacher. Right now, because you have done something unprecedented, there will be a lot of people trying to get you. Not only you, but also your parents might be in danger.
âHowever, if I become your teacher, I can openly protect you and your teacher. Of course, I donât want to take advantage of your vulnerability.
âSo, I donât mind relinquishing this relationship after a certain time. What I really want is for you to be able to become a proper summoner so that you can handle all the problems by yourself.â
âMhmmâŠâ Nathanâs face was pale ever since Vivian mentioned the danger, so he ultimately agreed to Vivianâs proposal. âI understand. Please protect my parents. I donât want anything to happen to them.â
âOf course, I will make sure theyâre protected.â
