"As for Spider, I will have Melissa and Revon. She might be strong, but her power lies elsewhere. Revon possesses high attack power, while Melissa is good at support.
"Vivian and Her Highness Regina will fight Soul Eater. They have fought alongside each other before this, so thereâs no need to worry about their coordination.
"Grand Duke Johnson and Bella will be facing Alex Tear. Sandalwood will be given to Sir Euclid and Madam Sarah."
They basically had no qualms about the arrangement.
Melissaâs target was Spider, so she wanted to kill him. However, due to her lack of offensive ability, Nathan paired her with Revon.
Just as in the previous battle, Vivian would pair up with Regina. With their previous coordination, they should be able to handle Soul Eater just fine.
Besides, Vivian had Gaia this time. Soul Eater couldnât underestimate her anymore. And the amount of ena her familiars possessed had made her a true world class summoner.
Vivian could be said to be equal to Regina after all the training.
Grand Dukeâs target was everyone in the Death Society, but he had previously clashed with Alex Tear. Bella didnât have a target because that target had died during the retaliation incident. The same applied to Evelyn.
So, Bella had to support Johnson. This was the pair that was lacking firepower, but he believed Alex Tear wouldnât be able to defeat them easily even if he used the last trump card.
Last but not least, Sandalwood. This was the summoner that followed the second queen.
Since it was the empireâs problem, he let the summoners from the empire take care of him.
Nathan didnât know who would die in this fight, but he had no choice but to trust each of them.
"It looks like there are no objections to this arrangement. In that case, let me continue for the rest of the targets."
Nathan continued with his explanation, making sure that Christopher, Sonia, and Neyeid also played a part in the process.
Of course, Bloody Fiend and Sniper had become their targets. The rest were given to other people.
...
A few hours later.
A middle-aged man floated in the air outside the city. At the same time, an old man also leaped into the sky in the opposite direction.
Both of them declared out loud.
"Now, the Elenatalia has become a lawless zone and the target of the purge. The dynasty (empire) will spare no effort in taking it down. All people inside the town will be considered enemies and will not be spared.
"However, the dynasty (empire) is not a heartless place. For the next few hours until the sun sets, all citizens are allowed to exit the city and seek refuge. Any citizens who still remain in the city will be purged alongside the Death Society.
"You are allowed to use the west and east sides to leave. Other directions mean you will be considered siding with the enemy and trying to escape and shall be executed."
They had given an ultimatum, which was the last thing they could do for the citizens.
With that announcement, the city was thrown into panic.
Although the two countries didnât restrict traveling into this city, they had very harsh restrictions.
Once they heard the announcement, those people immediately tried to exit the city.
"..." Frequency was taken aback by the type of scheme Nathan had played.
"This doesnât look good," Frequency muttered.
"It looks like they have begun." The Godfather came out of the base.
"Father. What should we do now?" Frequency asked. "Should we stop these people from leaving?"
"Try to plant our own people among them so that they will cause enough trouble for them. After that, you will stop anyone from leaving the city to show that we donât have enough time to prepare for their scheme."
"Understood." Frequency nodded and arranged everything according to the Godfatherâs plan.
Once the spies had been planted, Frequency brought the people all around the city, stopping them from exiting the town.
He thought about using them as hostages, but according to the ultimatum, Nathanâs side wouldnât care about the remaining lives.
Nevertheless, Nathanâs plan worked wonderfully.
Although the number was not too high, about 3,000 people had exited the city. Not all of them were innocent. Some were criminals who lingered because of the Death Societyâs reputation.
Some were also agents who had been converted by the Godfather.
Unfortunately for them, with the assault team ready, the governmentâs force could focus solely on managing these people.
They first captured them and threw them into prison, no matter if they were innocent or not. This way, they could screen them out one by one carefully so that they wouldnât make a mistake.
And all kinds of plans wouldnât work once they were inside the poison, as the soldiers focused solely on them.
Nathan received the report the next day.
"60% of them should be innocent citizens. 35% of them are criminals or bad enough that they want to linger in that town. They will be handled according to the law, but that will only happen after this fight so as to not complicate things. We suspect the rest to be agents planted by the enemy." Bella reported.
Nathan nodded. "Itâs a shame that we canât save more than that, but we have done our best."
"Yes," Bella had to agree, considering the situation. "Everyone is ready to make a move. As long as we send our signal, we can move immediately."
"Got it." Nathanâs expression turned serious. They had split their force into four, ready to surround them from all directions, leaving no gap for them to escape.
Nathan came out of the building and saw the few hundred people who would fight alongside him in this direction.
All of them were already eager to remove the enemy once and for all. This was their only chance to eliminate the Death Society after all.
Nathan activated the communication ring. "Attention to all people. We will now begin our operation.
"The enemy is powerful. No one can guarantee anyoneâs life, but we all have the same goal. The complete annihilation of the Death Society.
"This is the opportunity we have been waiting for, so letâs make it count. May fortune be with you."
Nathan raised his hand while shouting, "Iâm sorry for making all of you wait. The time has come. Without further ado, charge!"
